METHOD FOR BONE HEALING OR TREATMENT OF BONE FRACTURE

A method for bone healing or treatment of bone fracture in a subject includes optionally pre-drilling a hole or creating a cavity in a body tissue, implanting a device onto or into the body tissue, or at least partially inserting a device into the cavity or hole, administering a composition into the device and/or near the device. The composition includes a first finely divided particulate material, and can optionally include at least a second material. The first material is not bioresorbable or is very slowly bioresorbable and the second material or materials are bioresorbable at a higher rate than the first material. The method can optionally include fully inserting the device into the hole or cavity, and can optionally include administering a pharmaceutical composition to the subject.

An improved bone screw device having an internal lattice structure for bone integration and to promote bony ingrowth. The improved bone screw device has a cylindrical body with a first end and a second end and a cutting flute. The head of the bone screw is configured to engage with a driver to advance the screw into a patient's bone, and a distal tip is positioned at the second end. The cylindrical body further includes an internal lattice structure formed at a base of the cylindrical body, near the distal tip. Further, an exterior thread is formed on the cylindrical body and helically surrounds the internal lattice structure. In use, bone is channeled into the internal lattice structure, which helps to fixate the distal tip of the bone screw into the patient's pedicle, bone or joint.

MATERIAL DIRECTING ORTHOPEDIC ANCHOR

An embodiment includes a sacroiliac joint bone anchor system comprising: a bone anchor including an outer surface and an inner surface; wherein (a)(i) the outer surface includes a proximal third, a middle third, and a distal third, (a)(ii) the middle third of the outer surface includes at least one aperture that couples the outer surface to the inner surface; (a)(iii) the proximal third of the outer surface includes proximal threads, and (a)(iv) the distal third of the outer surface includes distal threads; wherein (b)(i) the bone anchor is cannulated, (b)(ii) a channel is located on the inner surface, (b)(iii) the channel extends from a proximal third of the inner surface to a distal third of the inner surface, and (b)(iv) the channel provides at least one half a rotation about a long axis of the bone anchor.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, and apparatus for immobilizing and/or securing bone portions. Particularly, at least one embodiment involves a compact anti-rotation device that can secure adjacent bones and/or bone portions in a manner that prevents or limits relative rotational movement thereof.

Bone screw with self-constrained flexibility

A bone screw is provided including a longitudinal core member having a longitudinal axis defining a longitudinal direction and having an outer surface and a helical groove in the outer surface, the groove being defined by opposed sidewalls; and a helical thread body configured to be accommodated in the groove. When the thread body is assembled in the groove of the core member and when the core member is straight, the thread body is configured to abut one opposed sidewall without abutting the other opposed sidewall along a full turn of the thread body, the thread body is configured to slide in the groove between the opposed sidewalls of the helical groove parallel to the longitudinal axis, and a first portion of the thread body that is outside the helical groove has a height greater than a second portion of the thread body that is in the helical groove.

A fusion device assembly for fusion of a joint, including a fusion device, including a distal end, a proximal end, a radially outward facing surface including threading, a bore extending from the proximal end, at least one flute arranged proximate the distal end, and at least one aperture arranged adjacent to the at least one flute, and a reversibly connected hollow drive shaft for insertion of said device which, in a some embodiments, is hollow to allow addition of supplementary bone graft materials or products, should this be desired, without altering the position of the deployed device.

Light emitting bone implants

A bone implant includes a bore extending entirely through the bone implant. The bone implant also includes a light source to emit light onto bone adjacent the bone implant to stimulate bone growth and/or reduce bone loss.

A fixation implant includes a head, a shank and a distal tip, and one or more of the head, shank and distal tip may be cannulated. The shank includes a threaded ingrowth portion extending from the head to the tapered distal tip that includes external threads, and at least one open network body extending along the length of the ingrowth portion. The open network body selected from one or a combination of a helix, an arrangement of trusses, a scaffold of open and interconnected pores, a porous framework of random open and interconnected pores, and combinations of these.

SACROILIAC JOINT STABILIZATION SYSTEM

A sacroiliac joint implant system includes a primary implant configured to be received in a sacroiliac joint of a patient and a secondary implant configured to couple with the primary implant. The primary implant includes a body extending from a proximal end to a distal end and a plurality of threads extending from the body. The secondary implant includes a first anchor configured to anchor within a sacrum of the patient and a second anchor configured to anchor within an ilium of the patient.
