BONE MATERIAL DISPENSING DEVICE
A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The proximal end has a first opening and the distal end has a second opening. The first opening and the second opening are configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger. A tubular member is provided that is pivotably connected to the housing and is configured for lateral movement relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The tubular member comprises a proximal opening, a distal opening and a channel disposed therebetween. The proximal opening, the distal opening and the channel of the tubular member are configured to receive at least the portion of the plunger. The tubular member is movable in a first position to align the proximal opening of the tubular member with the second opening of the housing to allow the tubular member to receive at least the portion of the plunger to dispense the bone material. A method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing device is also provided.
BONE MATERIAL DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH LOCKING MEMBER
A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The proximal end having a first opening and the distal end having a second opening. The first opening and the second opening configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger. A locking member is provided that is pivotably connected to an upper surface of the housing and extends adjacent to the upper surface of the housing. The locking member comprises a locking surface extending adjacent to the distal end of the housing configured to engage a portion of a tubular member, a funnel, or a combination thereof. The locking member is movable in a locking position to lock the portion of the tubular member, the funnel, or the combination thereof with the housing. A bone material dispensing system and a method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing system are also provided.
System and method for robotically assisting a surgical procedure
Surgical systems, methods and surgical planning programs to facilitate preparation of an anatomical cavity to receive a cup implant. The system includes a control system, a localizer and a robotic manipulator configured to move an energy applicator that is adapted to remove tissue. The control system obtains or generates a surgical plan that defines characteristics of cement holes to be formed within a wall of the anatomical cavity for receiving bone cement. The control system registers the surgical plan to the anatomical cavity with the localizer and controls the robotic manipulator to utilize the energy applicator to form the cement holes within the wall of the anatomical cavity according to the surgical plan.
Methods and devices for less invasive glenoid replacement
The invention relates to a glenoid (shoulder socket) implant prosthesis, a humeral implant prosthesis, devices for implanting glenoid and humeral implant prostheses, and less invasive methods of their use for the treatment of an injured or damaged shoulder.
Three-dimensional structure produced from a material containing polyhydroxyalkanoate, kit for preparation of bone filler, and intramedullary rod
Provided is a material for preventing bone cement from leaking out from bone during packing of the bone cement into a bone fracture site. The bone cement can be prevented from leaking out from the bone by employing a three-dimensional structure produced from a material containing a polyhydroxyalkanoate, when packing the bone cement into the bone fracture site.
Controlled injection devices, systems, and methods
Medical devices are described herein. More particularly, the disclosure relates to controlled injection devices, systems, and methods used for the introduction of treatment material into a cavity. An exemplary controlled injection system comprises an injection device and a jig. The jig is adapted to receive the injection device and has a jig head, jig shaft, and a jig housing.
Multichannel cannula and methods for using same
A method for delivering a substance to bone includes placing a stabilizing wire in a bone, creating a hole in the bone around the stabilizing wire, and providing a multichannel cannula. The multichannel cannula includes a first channel having an open proximal end and distal end, the first channel being configured to receive the stabilizing wire, and a second channel having an inlet portal and an exit portal that are in fluid communication. The cannula further includes a cap having a delivery port in fluid communication with the inlet portal and a channel for receiving the cannula therein, and a distal tip. The method further includes inserting the multichannel cannula into the hole in the bone such that the first channel receives the stabilizing wire, and delivering the substance into the bone by introducing the substance into the second channel such that the substance exits through the exit portal.
SURGICAL SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE
A surgical system is provided that includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis. A first member is rotatably positioned within the body and includes a first threaded surface. A second member is positioned within the body and includes a second threaded surface that engages the first threaded surface. The second member is non-rotatable relative to the body. A third member is positioned within the first member. An inflatable bone tamp includes an outer shaft coupled to the body, a balloon coupled to the outer shaft and an inner shaft coupled to the third member and the balloon. The first member is rotatable relative to the body to translate the third member along the longitudinal axis to move the balloon from a first length to a second length. Kits and methods are disclosed.
System And Method For Robotically Assisting A Surgical Procedure
Surgical systems and methods for robotically-assisted insertion of a stem implant into a cavity of a bone. A manipulator includes a robotic arm that supports an end effector which detachably receives the stem implant. A navigation system includes a localizer to track poses of the bone and the end effector. Controller(s) coupled to the manipulator and the navigation system obtain a surgical plan defining a planned relationship between the stem implant and the bone. Based on the tracked poses and the surgical plan, the controller(s) control the manipulator to enable movement of the end effector and the stem implant to facilitate insertion of the stem implant into the cavity.
