STORAGE AND MIXING SYSTEM WITH COMPRESSIBLE INTERNAL CARTRIDGE FOR PASTY STARTING COMPONENTS
Storage and mixing systems and methods for pasty multicomponent polymethylmethacrylate bone cements, the systems and methods comprise a first tubular cartridge with a first cylindrical internal space containing a first starting component, a first dispensing plunger, a second tubular cartridge that is arranged within the first tubular cartridge. The external wall of the second cartridge touches against the internal wall of the first cartridge and is attached to the internal wall of the first cartridge, whereby the second cartridge contains a second starting component and has a second dispensing plunger arranged in it, whereby a pressing device with a clamping edge for compressing the second cartridge that can be propelled axially in the internal space of the first cartridge is arranged, as seen from the cartridge head, behind the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger. The pressing device can be propelled appropriately in the direction of the cartridge head such that the second cartridge is being progressively compressed axially during the motion of the pressing device such that, in the process, the first dispensing plunger and the second dispensing plunger are propelled in the direction of the cartridge head.
Methods and Compositions For The Treatment of Degenerate Bone
The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for the treatment of degenerate bone in a patient. In some embodiments, the methods and compositions disclosed herein are useful in the treatment, prevention, or in delaying the progression of a bone disease linked to bone degeneration, such as osteoarthritis (“OA”), rheumatoid arthritis, and avascular necrosis.
BONE CEMENT INJECTION DEVICE
A bone cement injection device includes an outer barrel including a side slot; an injection unit movably received in the outer barrel and including an inner tube that defines a first hollow section therein and an outer tube that defmes, in combination with the inner tube, a second hollow section therebetween and includes a guide tube mounted to the outer tube to be movably received in the side slot and in communication with the second hollow section; and a pusher unit movably received in the first hollow section and positioned against a bottom end of the outer barrel. Bone cement is filled in the first hollow section and is driven by the pusher unit into a patient's bone. An air compressor is used in combination with the guide tube to induce a pressure difference between inside and outside of the bone to help injection the bone cement into the bone.
Device for mixing a bone cement with hollow space for monomer transfer
One aspect relates to a device for the production of a bone cement dough from a monomer liquid and a cement powder comprising a cartridge with an internal space; a cartridge head with a dispensing opening; a conveying plunger that is supported in the internal space of the cartridge such that it is pushable in the direction of the dispensing opening; a dispensing plunger between the dispensing opening and the conveying plunger that is supported in the internal space of the cartridge such that it is pushable in the direction of the dispensing opening; a first hollow space, in which the cement powder is arranged; a second hollow space that is bordered by the dispensing plunger and the conveying plunger; a rear-side part of the internal space of the cartridge; and a conducting means that connects the second hollow space to the rear-side part of the internal space of the cartridge such as to bypass the conveying plunger and be permeable to the monomer liquid. The conducting means can be closed by the conveying plunger with respect to the second hollow space by shifting the conveying plunger in the direction of the dispensing plunger, and a feedthrough in the dispensing plunger that connects the first hollow space and the second hollow space such as to be permeable to the monomer liquid.
Syringe for injecting solid granular material
A syringe for injecting solid, hard and rough granular material includes: a longitudinal injection chamber having constant section and an internal diameter of less than 4.5 mm, having a distal outlet mouth for the flow out of the material, whose surface is the same as the injection chamber, and a proximal mouth, in which granular material is inserted; a plunger sealedly mobile along the injection chamber, joined to a stem which enters the injection chamber through the proximal mouth, the plunger having: a transversal section which sealingly couples with the surface of the injection chamber, and having an operative surface, facing towards the distal mouth of the injection chamber; and a body projecting longitudinally internally of the injection chamber, fixed substantially axially to the operating surface of the plunger, having a diameter that is less than 70% of that of the injection chamber and a length greater than 6 mm.
Syringe assembly for storing and mixing two components
The invention relates to syringes for storing and mixing components.
Device for supplying fluid substances in the body of a patient
The present invention regards a device for supplying fluid substances in the body of a patient comprising a first tubular element, a second tubular element as well as at least one component for the angular movement or articulation of the first tubular element with respect to the second tubular element around an articulation axis (z-z).
STORAGE AND MIXING SYSTEM FOR PASTY CEMENT COMPONENTS AND METHOD THEREFOR
Storage and mixing systems for pasty two-component polymethyl methacrylate bone cements comprise a tubular cartridge having a cylindrical inner chamber, a cartridge head, which closes one end of the tubular cartridge at the front side, a partition that is disposed axially in the cylindrical inner chamber of the cartridge. The partition divides the cylindrical inner chamber of the cartridge bounded by the cartridge head into two cavities that are spatially separated from one another, wherein a first pasty cement component is present in the first cavity and a second pasty cement component is present in the separate second cavity. The systems further comprising two dispensing plungers axially displaceable in the two cavities of the cartridge, wherein the dispensing plungers close the two cavities on the back side of the cavities situated opposite the cartridge head, a bending device for deforming the partition, wherein the bending device is axially movable in the cartridge and is disposed, or is to be disposed, behind the dispensing plungers, as seen from the cartridge head, wherein the bending device has a deflection surface that is inclined with respect to the axis of the cartridge and pushes the partition laterally in the direction of the inside wall of the cartridge when the bending device is pushed into the cartridge.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TREATING DEFECTS IN THE TISSUE OF A LIVING BEING
An implant for deployment in select locations or select tissue for regeneration of tissue is disclosed. The implant includes collagen and or other bio-resorbable materials, where the implant may also be used for therapy delivery. Additionally, the implant may include, or have blended in, an additive, such as an osteoinductive factor, for example biocompatible ceramics and glass.
Insertion tool for intervertebral insert
A tool for insertion of an intervertebral insert into an intervertebral space is provided. The tool includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end of the shaft is configured to be coupled to the intervertebral insert. The tool includes a tapered section located at the distal end of the shaft, the tapered section tapering toward the longitudinal axis of the shaft and away from the proximal end of the shaft.
