A device for producing a bone cement dough from a monomer liquid and a cement powder and dispensing the bone cement dough. The device includes a cartridge holding the cement powder in an internal space. A monomer receptacle screws onto the cartridge, forms a chamber, and has a plunger with a passage that is permeable to gases and the monomer liquid but is impermeable to the cement powder and that connects the internal space to the chamber. The plunger tightly closes the internal space with the exception of the passage. A gas supply opening is arranged in the wall of the monomer receptacle. A monomer liquid container holds the monomer liquid and is located in the chamber. An opening facility opens the container, and closes the gas supply opening before opening the container. Also provided is a method for producing and dispensing the bone cement dough.

A filter assembly for a surgical suction system. The filter assembly has a containment defining a filter chamber an intake fitting on an upstream end of the chamber, an output fitting on an opposite downstream end of the chamber, and a filter element in the filter chamber and made at least partially of a bioresorbable bone substitute so that autologous tissue components carried in a fluid flowing from the fitting through the filter element in the filter chamber are trapped by the filter element.

An inflatable bone tamp includes an outer shaft defining a passageway. An inner shaft is positioned within the passageway. The inner shaft defines a lumen. A balloon has a first end coupled to the outer shaft and a second end coupled to the inner shaft such that material can flow through the lumen and into the balloon and exit the balloon through a channel between the inner and outer shafts. A valve is positioned within the channel. The valve is configured to move from a closed orientation in which the valve blocks the channel and an open orientation in which the does not block the channel. Kits, systems and methods are disclosed.

The invention relates to a method for producing a bone cement with a device comprising a cartridge (1) having a cylindrical interior (2), cement powder (6), and monomer liquid (7) in a monomer liquid container (8), a cartridge head (3) having a discharge opening (9), a closure (10) in the discharge opening (9), which closure is permeable to gases and impermeable to powder particles, a drive piston (5), and a central piston (4), wherein the central piston (4) is permeable to gases and the monomer liquid (7) and impermeable to the powder particles of the cement powder (6) and is arranged between the drive piston (5) and the cartridge head (3), wherein the central piston (4) separates the interior (2) into a first cavity (12) and a second cavity (14), the method comprising the following steps:

A) moving the drive piston (5) toward the cartridge head (3),
B) opening the monomer liquid container (8) via the movement of the drive piston (5) and releasing the monomer liquid (7) in the second cavity (14),
C) expelling residual gases into the surroundings of the device by means of the movement of the drive piston (5),
D) injecting the monomer liquid (7) through the central piston (4) into the cement powder (6),
E) displacing gases between the powder particles with the inflowing monomer liquid (7),
F) wetting the powder particles of the cement powder (6), and
G) depressurizing the second cavity (14), wherein the depressurization takes place by partially removing the contained monomer liquid (7).

The invention also relates to such a device for mixing a bone cement, with a depressurization device (16).

Cement mixing and injection system and methods

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for mixing and injecting fluid treatment, such as cement to treat bone or hard tissue. In some embodiments, a mixing apparatus may facilitate mixing within a syringe. Additionally, the syringe may be configured to extract bone cement from a cement mixer. A syringe for mixing and injecting cement may include a detachable handle that may be detached after extracting bone cement from a mixer to facilitate coupling to a high-pressure syringe for injection.

BIOMATERIAL DISPENSING DEVICE

A device for dispensing biomaterial includes a handle configured to receive a syringe, the syringe including a biomaterial and a threaded plunger, and an engagement pin retained within the handle and slidable between a first position and a second position. The engagement pin is configured to engage the threaded plunger in the first position, the engagement pin is further configured to disengage from the threaded plunger in the second position.

Flow diverter for bone cement delivery systems

A bone cement delivery system includes a plunger configured to selectively displace bone cement from a cement reservoir through an exit port. Additionally, the system includes a flow diverter comprising a diverter inlet, a first diverter outlet, and a second diverter outlet. The system also includes a cannula coupler configured for connection to a delivery cannula for directing the bone cement to a target site, and a drool accumulator defining a drool volume for receiving residual bone cement. The flow diverter includes a valve arranged for selective movement between a first configuration where fluid communication is established between the cement reservoir and the drool volume; and where fluid communication is interrupted between the cement reservoir and the cannula coupler; and a second configuration where fluid communication is established between the cement reservoir and the cannula coupler; and where fluid communication is interrupted between the cement reservoir and the drool volume.

One aspect relates to a device for producing a bone cement paste from a monomer liquid and a cement powder as parent components of the bone cement paste and for delivering the mixed bone cement paste, the device having a cartridge having a cylindrical interior. The interior of the cartridge is closed on the front side except for a delivery opening for expelling the bone cement paste. A delivery plunger is arranged in the interior of the cartridge. The cement powder is arranged in the interior of the cartridge. A closure is arranged on the front side of the delivery plunger. The closure closes the delivery opening when the delivery plunger is pressed against the front side of the interior of the cartridge. The closure blocks a further movement of the delivery plunger so that the delivery plunger is spaced from the front side of the interior of the cartridge at least in some areas and a dead volume remains in the interior of the cartridge when the delivery plunger is pressed against the front side of the interior of the cartridge.
