DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF HEMORRHOIDS USING SUCTION
A device includes a handle having a trigger in combination with a distal portion, the distal portion including a rigid elongated hollow member which receives tissue therein and a plunger fitted with and configured to slide longitudinally within the hollow member to induce suction at a distal end of the hollow member as the plunger is moved proximally within the hollow member. The trigger is hingedly coupled to the plunger so that pulling the trigger slides the plunger proximally with respect to the hollow member to generate suction to draw the tissue into the distal end of the hollow member. The device further includes a tissue treatment mechanism for encircling the tissue received at the distal end of the hollow member.
Connector
A coupling system and related methods are disclosed. The system has a first plug detachably coupled to a first housing, and a first socket detachably coupled to a second housing. The first socket is configured to receive the first plug. The system is movable between a first configuration wherein the first and second housings are not engaged and a second configuration wherein the first and second housings are engaged and the first plug and the first socket are coupled together.
Systems, Methods and Devices for Performing Water Aided Endoscopy
Systems, methods and devices for performing water aided endoscopy (WAE) are provided herein. The systems include a plurality of devices designed to create a sealed environment within the body cavity, including a multi-functional plug, valves, balloons and pumps. The systems also provide specialized tools configured for operation within a liquid environment which are designed to interface with the multi-functional seal for insertion into the body cavity while maintaining the seal, including an adjustable constant shape snare. Additional features of the systems and methods include specialized fluids for increasing visibility with the body cavity, dyes and other solutions for image-enhancement and diagnostics, and software for increasing the clarity of the image in real-time.
Digestive-tract treatment method
Provided is a digestive-tract treatment method including: pulling, inside a digestive tract (A), an end portion of a first wall portion (A1) positioned at a rim of a treatment target site (B), and moving the first wall portion (A1) to a position on a second wall portion (A2) on an opposite side of the treatment target site (B) from the first wall portion (A1); and joining the first wall portion (A1) and the second wall portion (A2) in a state in which the first wall portion (A1) and the second wall portion (A2) are layered.
EXPANDABLE DEVICES
Provided herein are expandable devices, rail systems, and motorized devices. in one embodiment, an expandable device comprises an expandable sac having a tool housed therein. The expandable device is optionally configured for operation while inside a body cavity. The expandable device optionally comprises at least one rail in the sac, and at least one railed device coupled to the rail for movement there on. Movement of the railed device on the rail is provided by, for example, a motor such as an electromagnetic motor or an inch-worm type motor. Expandable devices can be used, for example, to perform minimally invasive medical procedures requiring access to a body cavity. Expandable devices can also be used, for example, to provide safe and stable transport of instruments to the body cavity.
METHOD FOR CLOSURE AND ABLATION OF ATRIAL APPENDAGE
A device, system, and method for ligating the left atrial appendage without creating pro-arrhythmic tissue. The device may generally include a snare including a thermally transmissive distal portion and a suture including a distal portion, both distal portions having a lasso-shaped configuration that may be positioned proximate the base of the left atrial appendage. Once the distal portions of the snare and the suture are tightened around the base of the left atrial appendage, the thermally transmissive distal portion of the snare may be activated to create an ablation lesion in adjacent left atrial appendage tissue. The lesion may be created with radiofrequency energy or through cryoablation by the circulation of refrigerant within the thermally transmissive distal portion of the snare.
Endoscopic resection method
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method of excising tissue including injecting fluid into the submucosa to raise targeted tissue. A first electrode is positioned below the targeted tissue within the injected fluid and a second electrode is positioned adjacent a surface of the raised targeted tissue opposite the first electrode. Electrical current is applied between the first and second electrodes and the targeted tissue is excised with the second electrode.
Methods, devices and therapeutic platform for automated, selectable, soft tissue resection
An excisional device may comprise an introducer comprising a distal trough portion and a cutting assembly. The cutting assembly may comprise an axial hand element configured to selectively bow out of and away from the distal trough portion and to retract into the distal trough portion and a helical cutting element wound around the axial band element. A rotating drum may be provided to cause the cutting assembly to selectively rotate, bow and retract according to a mechanically-driven first cutting profile that is defined by a shape of a channel formed in the drum. An optical guidance projector assembly may be coupled to the excisional device and may be configured to visually indicate when a distal portion of the excisional device is aligned with an imaging plane of an imaging probe and in a desired position.
ELECTROSURGICAL DEVICE AND METHODS
A tissue segmentation device, controller, and methods therefore are disclosed. The device has an active electrode, a return electrode, a mechanical force application mechanism, voltage and current sensors, and a controller. The controller has a processing component, configured to assign a circuit status to a circuit comprising the at least one electrode. IF (PF0) and ((Vrms/Irms)T), THEN the circuit status is open. IF (PF0) and ((Vrms/Irms)<T), THEN the circuit status is short. PF is a power factor of power applied to the electrosurgical device. T is a threshold value.
Snare for removing tumor
Disclosed herein is a snare (transparent cap) for removing a polyp which includes a stalk and a head connected to the stalk, wherein the snare includes: a body having a hollow tubular shape and an interior of which is partitioned into a plurality of chambers; a ring mounted to at least part of the body using elasticity; a first snare discharged outside the body through a first chamber among the plurality of chambers and hooks the stalk; and a second snare which is discharged outside the body through a second chamber among the plurality of chambers, wherein when the stalk is spread according to pulling the first snare that hooks the stalk, and the second snare pulls a first portion in a lower end of the stalk as spread including the head, the ring is discharged from the body and shrinks through the elasticity and then fixes the first portion.
