Tracked toothbrush and toothbrush tracking system
A dental device tracking method including acquiring, using an imager of a dental device, at least a first image which includes an image of at least one user body portion outside of a user's oral cavity; identifying the at least one user body portion in the first image; and determining, using the at least the first image, a position of the dental device with respect to the at least one user body portion.
Oral care implement
An oral care implement including a handle and a replacement head that is detachably coupled to the handle. The oral care implement may include a handle having a longitudinal axis that includes a gripping portion and a stem extending from the gripping portion. The gripping portion may have a shoulder that circumferentially surrounds the stem and an annular rib protruding from the shoulder. The replacement head may have a sleeve portion terminating in a proximal edge that is formed from a resilient material. The replacement head may be detachably coupled to the handle so that the annular rib of the shoulder and the proximal edge of the sleeve portion that is formed of elastomeric material are in contact with one another.
Vibration cancellation for personal care device
A personal care cleaning device (10) including a housing (12), a resonant drive actuator (20), which includes a rotor (24) having a first moment of inertia (J.sub.r) and a stator (22) having a second moment of inertia (J.sub.s); a first plurality of leaf spring elements (60) having a first spring constant (k.sub.rh), each leaf spring element of the first plurality of leaf spring elements (60) being connected the housing (12) and to the rotor (24) such that each leaf spring element of the first plurality of leaf springs elements (60) extends radially from the rotor (24) to the housing (12), each leaf spring element of the second plurality of leaf spring elements (62) being connected to the housing (12) and engaging with the stator (22), wherein the ratio of the first (k.sub.rh) and second (k.sub.sh) spring constants is sufficiently similar to the ratio of the first (J.sub.r) and second moments (J.sub.s) of inertia such that there is substantially no resulting torque transmitted to the housing (12) during operation.
Vibration structure of electrical toothbrush
A vibration structure of electrical toothbrush includes an eccentric rod. Two ends of the eccentric rod are respectively formed with a transmission section and a weight section. The transmission section is drivable by a driving force to rotate so as to drive the weight section to eccentrically vibrate. The weight section has an opening and a receiving space inward recessed from the opening. A cover member is correspondingly mated with the opening to cover the same. A weight block is disposed in the receiving space to partially or totally increase the weight of the weight section, whereby due to the increased weight, the weight section is unbalanced in weight to deflect from a central axis of the eccentric rod.
Brush and head
A brush includes a head with bristles, an actuator that expands and contracts in accordance with an electric signal, a connection member that transmits vibration of the actuator to the head, and a body including a housing that houses the actuator. The direction of reciprocal vibration of the head is at a predetermined angle relative to the direction of extension of the housing.
TRACKED TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHBRUSH TRACKING SYSTEM
A dental device tracking method including acquiring, using an imager of a dental device, at least a first image which includes an image of at least one user body portion outside of a user’s oral cavity; identifying the at least one user body portion in the first image; and determining, using the at least the first image, a position of the dental device with respect to the at least one user body portion.
Methods of Designing and Fabricating Customized Dental Care for Particular Users
The various embodiments described herein include methods, devices, and systems for customizing dental care. In one aspect, personalized toothbrush devices are 3-D printed for a plurality of users. A 3-D dental model of a respective user's mouth is obtained, and a configuration for a mouthpiece of a respective personalized toothbrush device is determined. The respective personalized toothbrush device is 3-D printed, and includes a top cleaning tray, a bottom cleaning tray, and a set of cleaning elements, each customized based at least in part on the 3-D dental model of the respective user's mouth. Each personalized toothbrush device is 3-D printed for each respective user of the plurality of users, and is different from every other user's personalized toothbrush device.
Electric toothbrush, system, brushing site detection method, and computer-readable recording medium
An electric toothbrush includes a gyro sensor inside a main body. The gyro sensor detects an angular velocity of the main body and the main body includes a head portion, a neck portion, and a grip portion in a longitudinal axis direction. An angle formed by a longitudinal axis of the main body in a state that brush bristles of the head portion contact with a brushing site in a dentition with respect to the longitudinal axis of the main body in a state that the brush bristles of the head portion contact with a reference position in the dentition is obtained, based on an output from the gyro sensor. A corresponding point corresponding to the brushing site on an approximate curve that curves corresponding to the dentition is obtained based on the angle, and coordinates of the corresponding point are used as a translational position of the brushing site.
AUTOMATED AND PRECISE DEVICE FOR DENTAL PLAQUE DETECTION, MONITORING AND REMOVAL
Automated devices for detecting and removing dental biofilms are described herein. In some embodiments, the disclosed subject matter includes a device for administering a suspension comprising iron oxide nanoparticles to teeth to chemically treat and mechanically remove dental biofilms. In some embodiments, disclosed subject matter includes a device for administering a suspension comprising iron oxide nanoparticles and hydrogen peroxide to teeth to kill bacteria within a biofilm matrix and degrade the biofilm matrix and assembling the iron oxide nanoparticles into autonomous magnetic bristles or antimicrobial robots to mechanically remove biofilm. Devices and methods for real-time detection of dental plaque and monitoring of removal of dental plaque are also disclosed herein.
Teeth cleaning device and carrier structure for mouthpiece of a teeth cleaning device
The present invention provides a holder and support structure or carrier structure for a mouthpiece of a teeth cleaning device which enables cleaning of a plurality of teeth, preferably all of the user's teeth at the same time, wherein the carrier structure comprises a mouth insert for the user's upper jaw and a mouth insert for the user's lower jaw; and a coupling section including two arms and a connecting section for the drive device, wherein the mouth inserts are each connected to an arm of the coupling section and the connecting section for the drive device is adapted so that it can be connected to a drive device via a fastener thereof, wherein the arms of the coupling section that are connected to the mouth inserts each include at least one spring section. The spring sections assure an even transfer of vibration transfer along the entire length of the mouth inserts. In one embodiment, the horizontal spring sections of the carrier structure allow it to be adjusted more precisely to the user's dentition.
