COMPONENTS FOR ARTIFICIAL JOINTS
A component of an artificial joint according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, inter alia, a base plate and a post selectively removable from the base plate. Further, an outer surface of the post includes a layer of the bone ingrowth material along substantially the entire length of the post.
Keeled glenoid implant
A prosthetic glenoid implant may include a polymer bearing component, a metal base component, and a plurality of fixation members. The bearing component may have a first surface adapted to articulate with a humeral head, and an opposing second surface including a first mating feature. The base component may have a first surface and a bone-contacting surface, the first surface having a second mating feature adapted to engage the first mating feature, the bone-contacting surface adapted to contact the native glenoid. The base component may define a plurality of apertures. The fixation members may each have a head and a threaded shaft adapted to pass through a corresponding one of the plurality of apertures, the head of each fixation member adapted to be positioned within a recess defined between the base component and the bearing component in an assembled condition of the prosthetic glenoid implant.
FIXATION SYSTEM
A fixation facilitator mechanically associated with an intraosseous dental implant fixture.
Stem for a hip prosthesis, with fixed or modular neck
A stem for a hip prosthesis, with fixed or modular neck, which includes a stem body divided into a proximal region and a distal region, the body of the stem forming an anterior wall, a posterior wall, a medial wall, and a lateral wall. The anterior wall, the posterior wall, and the medial wall are provided at least partially with a porous structure with undercuts, the lateral wall being provided with a machining allowance.
Spinal implant system and method
A spinal implant comprises a first vertebral engaging surface and a second vertebral engaging surface. A wall extends between the surfaces. The wall includes an inner bone growth resistant layer and an outer layer. Systems and methods of use are disclosed.
VERTEBRAL BODY SPACER
A vertebral body spacer of the present invention is used by being inserted between a vertebral body and a vertebral body (intervertebral space). The vertebral body spacer has a block body constituted of titanium or a titanium alloy as a main component thereof, and provided with a pair of contact surfaces to be made contact with the vertebral body and the vertebral body. The block body includes a frame-shaped dense part and a porous part provided inside the dense part, and a porosity of at least a surface of the porous part is larger than a porosity of the dense part. According to the present invention, it is possible to maintain an appropriate size between the vertebral bodies (intervertebral space).
PROSTHESIS WITH SURFACES HAVING DIFFERENT TEXTURES AND METHOD OF MAKING THE PROSTHESIS
A joint prosthesis system is suitable for cementless fixation. The system has two metal implant components and a bearing. One of the metal implant components has an articulation surface for articulation with the bearing. The other metal implant component has a mounting surface for supporting the bearing. One of the metal implant components includes a solid metal portion and a porous metal portion. The porous metal portion has surfaces with different characteristics, such as roughness, to improve bone fixation, ease removal of the implant component in a revision surgery, reduce soft tissue irritation, improve the strength of a sintered bond between the solid and porous metal portions, or reduce or eliminate the possibility of blood traveling through the porous metal portion into the joint space. A method of making the joint prosthesis is also disclosed. The invention may also be applied to discrete porous metal implant components, such as augment.
ARTIFICIAL JOINT CUP
An artificial joint cup (2), in particular a hip joint cup, for implanting in a cavity in a bone. The joint cup (2) is, in particular, substantially in the form of a spherical dome cup, having a convex outer surface (3) and a concave inner surface (4). In addition, the joint cup (2) comprises an outer diameter (OD) and an inner diameter (ID). The ratio of the difference (D) between the outer diameter (OD) and the inner diameter (ID) in relation to the outer diameter (OD) is in a region between 0.5 and 0.07, preferably between 0.3 and 0.075, particularly preferably between 0.2 and 0.1. The joint cup (2) is manufactured from a ceramic material, and the convex outer surface (3) has a micro-structuring.
FUSION DEVICE
A device adapted to be positioned between two bone regions, the device comprising a body having a stabilising arrangement configured such that bone growing from one bone region toward the other engages the stabilising arrangement of the device.
BONE GRAFT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH POSITIONING HANDLE
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for near-simultaneous and integrated delivery of bone graft material and placement of surgical cages or other medical implants in a patient's spine. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device according to various embodiments delivers and disperses biologic material through a fusion cage to a disc space and, without withdrawal from the surgical site, may detach the fusion cage for deposit. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device is formed such that a hollow tube and plunger selectively and controllably place bone graft material and a fusion cage in or adjacent to the bone graft receiving area. In certain embodiments, the integrated fusion cage is an expandable integrated fusion cage.
