11364124 · 2022-06-21 · ·

A build-plate with integrally-formed spinal implant constructs and a method used in forming spinal implant constructs on the build plate and machining the spinal implant constructs formed on the build plate to manufacture spinal implants is provided. The spinal implant constructs can be formed via additive manufacturing processes by adding material to an upper surface of the build plate, and then the spinal implant constructs can be subjected to subtractive manufacturing processes to form the spinal implants.

GRANULE MADE OF BIOCOMPATIBLE METALLIC MATERIAL FOR VERTEBROPLASTY
20220183727 · 2022-06-16 ·

Disclosed is a granule made of biocompatible metallic material, in particular made of titanium or titanium alloys, for vertebroplasty operations. The granule has a spherical shape and includes a central core with a solid structure, also spherical, having an outer surface from which a first diametrical rib and a second diametrical rib also having a solid structure, protrude. The ribs are advantageously arranged according to two diameters orthogonal to each other. The granule also includes a portion having a trabeculated structure which extends between the outer surface of the central core and the outer surface of the granule itself.

ACETABULAR IMPLANT WITH PREDETERMINED MODULUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
20220183846 · 2022-06-16 ·

An acetabular implant can include a predetermined force deflection curve as described herein. The implant can provide individual layers to achieve the predetermined force deflection curve. The acetabular implant can be manufactured using additive manufacturing techniques to achieve the required structures that provide the predetermined force deflection curve.

Six degree spine stabilization devices and methods

An implant stabilizes two adjacent bones of a joint, while enabling a natural kinematic relative movement of the bones. Support components are connected to each bone of the joint, and a flexible core is interposed between them. The core and at least one of the support components are provided with a smooth sliding surface upon which the core and support component may slide relative to each other, enabling a corresponding movement of the bones. The surfaces may have a mating curvature, to mimic a natural movement of the joint. The core is resilient, and may bend or compress, enabling the bones to move towards each other, and or to bend relative to each other.

Sleeve augment device for an articulated joint

An augment device for a joint endoprosthesis, the device including a sleeve surrounding a channel extending through the sleeve. The sleeve is formed of porous material for ingrowth of bony material, the sleeve comprising an inner face and an outer face. The sleeve further comprises a wall surrounding the channel, the wall being made of solid material and forming a sandwich structure with the porous material, wherein the wall forms a bulkhead between the inner face and the outer face. Thereby, the bulkhead wall will stop inflow of any cement across the sleeve from its inner to its outer face. The porous material on the outer face will be kept free from cement and its capability to promote bone ingrowth is reliably preserved. The augment devices are preferably provided as a set having different sizes and straight or stepped bottoms for improved versatility and maximum preservation of natural bone matter.

Interbody spacer for spinal fusion
11357632 · 2022-06-14 · ·

An interbody spacer for spinal fusion surgery includes first and second opposite side walls that have open-cell metal foam at upper and lower faces, and a three-dimensional lattice disposed between open-cell metal foam at the upper and lower faces. The open-cell metal foam is in communication with the three-dimensional lattice so that bone growth can enter the three-dimensional lattice from the open-cell metal foam. The interbody spacer may be formed by additive manufacturing.

Metal-backed patella component of an orthopaedic knee prosthesis and associated method of making the same

An orthopaedic implant includes a patella component having a metal base with a polymer bearing molded thereto. A method for making a patella component is also disclosed.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED FEMORAL COMPONENTS
20220175539 · 2022-06-09 ·

Described is a femoral component of a prosthetic hip implant. The femoral component can include: a neck portion; and a stem portion including a proximal end and a distal end. The neck portion extends from the proximal end, and the stem portion comprises a first solid portion and at least one additional portion including at least one of a hollow portion, a porous portion, and a second solid portion comprised of a different solid material from a solid material of the first solid portion. The first solid portion and the at least one additional portion are in a predetermined configuration. The femoral component comprises a unitary component that is formed by additive manufacturing of the femoral component from a 3D model of the femoral component.

HYBRID FIXATION FEATURES FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL POROUS STRUCTURES FOR BONE INGROWTH AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING

An orthopaedic prosthetic component comprises a fixation peg including a porous three-dimensional structure configured to permit bone in-growth. The porous three-dimensional structure has an outer surface boundary. The fixation peg includes a plate attached to the porous three-dimensional structure at the outer surface boundary. The plate includes a tapered body having an outer wall that faces away from the porous three-dimensional structure and is devoid of any openings.

Vertebral body implant

The disclosure relates to a vertebral body implant including a flexible main body and at least one pedicle screw joint. The flexible main body is an integrally formed single piece having at least one joint-accommodating hole and at least one opening connected to the at least one joint-accommodating hole. The pedicle screw joint is an integrally formed single piece movably accommodated in the at least one joint-accommodating hole.
