Intervertebral implant with integrated fixation
A system for spinal surgery includes a prosthesis comprising a plurality of bone anchors which engage an intervertebral construct for fusion or motion preservation. The fusion construct comprises a spacer optionally encircled by a jacket. The motion preservation construct may comprise an articulating disc assembly or an elastomeric disc assembly. Any of the constructs may occupy the intervertebral disc space between adjacent vertebrae after removal of an intervertebral disc. The anchors slidingly engage the construct to securely fix the prosthesis to the vertebrae. The anchors and jacket of the fusion construct provide a continuous load path across opposite sides of the prosthesis so as to resist antagonistic motions of the spine.
FUSED FEMORAL STEM SYSTEM
The present invention provides a fused femoral stem system, including a curved short handle, a fixing mechanism and a femoral head prosthesis, one end of the curved short handle is provided with a conical connector, the conical connector is cooperatively connected with a conical connecting hole of the femoral head prosthesis, the other end of the curved short handle is inserted from the osteotomy surface of the femoral neck and stretches to the position of a medullary cavity below a small trochanter, and the curved short handle is connected and fixed with a large trochanter through the fixing mechanism. The present invention has the beneficial effects that, after the growing-in osseointegration with the sclerotin surrounding the proximal bone bed of the host after the surgery of the whole system, the mechanical influence on the retained femoral neck and the sclerotin in the vicinity of the large and small trochanters is substantially similar to the biomechanical state prior to the surgery.
ASSEMBLEABLE ARTIFICIAL BONE PLATE AND ARTIFICIAL BONE PLATE UNIT
An artificial bone plate unit and an assembleable artificial bone plate are provided. The artificial bone plate unit includes a plate body, multiple connecting pins, connecting holes, drug cavities, and drug-releasing openings. The plate body has two main surfaces and a peripheral surface connected between the two main surfaces. The connecting pins and the connecting holes are formed on the plate body and arranged along the peripheral surface on the plate body. The connecting holes correspond in shape to the connecting pins. The drug cavities are formed in the artificial bone plate unit and are connected to the drug-releasing openings. The artificial bone plate units are connected using the connecting pins and the connecting holes to form the assembleable artificial bone plate. The assembleable artificial bone plate can be bent into the shape of a defect area of the skull, which saves material and time.
Medical Implants Having Desired Surface Features and Methods of Manufacturing
In embodiments of the invention, an implant that anchors into bone may have a bone-facing region that comprises a plurality of interconnected struts. The interconnected struts may define local features such as engagement ridges, fins, crests, a macroscopic surface-interrupting feature, a divertor structure, and sawteeth in any combination. Such features may help resist translation or rotation of the implant, and may be conducive to bone ingrowth. Parameters such as local empty volume fraction and local average strut length can be varied, even within the features, by the design of the network of struts. Struts may be tapered. Cantilever struts may also be provided, which may point in a desired direction. The pattern of struts may be specified to the level of dimensions and location of individual struts. The implant may be manufactured by additive manufacturing methods. The mesh of struts may be generated by an algorithm using Voronoi tessellation.
Medical product and medical kit for use when treating a bone cavity, in particular for use when filling and/or closing a bone cavity
A medical product (100), preferably for use in treating, in particular filling and/or closing a bone cavity, wherein the product (100) comprises a plurality of interconnected members (110), wherein each member (110) has a peripheral boundary (120) and the boundaries (120) of adjacent members (110) engage with one another. Also, a method for producing the medical product (100) and a medical kit that comprises the medical product (100) and a securing element for securing the product (100) in a bone cavity and to a method for filling a bone cavity.
ORTHOPAEDIC PROSTHESIS FOR AN INTERPHALANGEAL JOINT AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
An orthopaedic prosthesis is disclosed. The orthopaedic prosthesis includes a frame including a plurality of beams defining an open-cell structure and a shell applied to the frame. The frame includes a proximal arm, a distal arm, and a central body connecting the proximal arm to the distal arm. The shell extends over the proximal arm, the distal arm, and the central body of the frame. A method of implanting an orthopaedic prosthesis is also disclosed.
Spinal Implant
The present invention is an implant for bone. The current implant is particularly useful in spinal surgical procedures.
Multi-lobe artificial spine joint
An artificial disc is provided which more closely matches the movement of the natural spine. The artificial disc uses one or more projections and corresponding recesses to provide a sliding articulation. The artificial joint is inherently stable in that compressive forces placed on the disc such as the weight placed upon the joint or the tension of surrounding tissues urges the joint towards a neutral position and not farther away from a neutral position.

MINIATURE OR MICRO-SCALE CONFORMABLE CHAIN MAIL DEVICE FOR ORTHOPAEDIC FIXATION, STABILIZATION, AND REPAIR
The present application provides miniature and micro-scale conformable chain mail devices for skeletal fixation, stabilization, and repair, and methods of manufacture and use thereof. The structural devices comprise a conformable sheet of interconnecting polygonal links that form a chain mail mesh having a first and a second outer surface, wherein: the interconnecting links comprise planar surfaces that combine to form the first and second outer surfaces, respectively, of the conformable sheet. Also provide are methods of using the structural device for stabilization of bone tissue, for fixation of bone tissue, as a bone graft patch or as a thin bone tissue replacement.
