Implant with a diagonal insertion axis
An implant for insertion into a spine is configured with a body and a plurality of bone contacting elements. The implant is configured with an insertion axis that is diagonal to a lateral axis and to a posterior-anterior axis. The diagonal insertion axis allows for insertion of the implant using an oblique lumbar interbody fusion procedure.
PATIENT SPECIFIC STEMLESS PROSTHESIS ANCHOR COMPONENTS
A stemless humeral anchor (10) includes a first end (12) configured to be embedded in a proximal portion of a humerus and a second end (14); a mating portion (16) for an articular component; a transversely extending collar (20); and a rotation control feature (22, 22A) for resisting rotation when the stemless humeral anchor is implanted. A void filling protrusion (24) can extend circumferentially from rotation control feature and can include a porous shell (26), in which a void filling component (28) can be disposed. The rotation control feature can comprise arms. One or more arms (22A) can have a larger radial extent than the others (22). A prosthesis assembly includes a base member (104) that has a helical structure (224) and one or more pathways (300). The pathway is accessible from a proximal end and is directed distally through the helical structure. The pathway is located inward of an outer periphery of the helical structure. The pathway extends in a space between successive portions of the helical structure. The prosthesis assembly includes a locking device (108) that has a support member (132) and an arm (110) that projects away from the support member. The arm is disposed in the pathway when the support member is disposed adjacent to the proximal end of the base member. The arm is disposed through bone in the space between successive portions of the helical structure when the prosthesis assembly is implanted.
Implant with internal support members
An implant includes a central wall extending from a first side of a peripheral frame portion to a second side of the peripheral frame portion, and a first helical bone contacting member attached at the central wall and disposed within the superior half of the implant. The implant further includes a first support member attached at the central wall at a junction coincident with the first helical bone contacting member and extending to a central region of the implant internal to the first helical bone contacting member. In addition, the implant includes a non-helical bone contacting member extending from a portion of the first support member that is disposed internal to the first helical bone contacting member.
Implant for the fixation of bone elements
The purpose of the present invention is a new implant for medical use enabling the fixation of at least two adjacent bone elements in a rapid, secure and minimally invasive manner. Said implant is a device in two distinct parts forming a screw once said two parts are assembled. The present invention describes also a fixing method of at least two adjacent bone elements implementing said new implant forming a screw. Said method is particularly adapted for joining at least two vertebrae in order to achieve an arthrodesis; said implant forming a screw is then of a curved shape that makes it particularly well adapted for the spine surgery.
Implant With Arched Bone Contacting Elements
An implant that includes a body and a plurality of arched bone contacting elements is disclosed. The body includes a peripheral structure and three support beams extending in a central region of the peripheral structure. Arched bone contacting elements extend between adjacent beams and between beams and the peripheral structure. The arched bone contacting elements include flared legs. The arched bone contacting elements may be arranged in V-like configurations on the superior and inferior sides.
Implant With Protected Fusion Zones
An implant may include a body having a first portion and a second portion and a structural member having a central member curve. In addition, the structural member may be exposed on an outer surface of the implant. Further, the central member curve may include a winding segment, and the winding segment of the central member curve may wind around a fixed path extending from the first portion of the body to the second portion of the body. Also, the central member curve may make one or more full turns around the fixed path. And, the structural member may have a member diameter at the winding segment, wherein the winding segment has a winding diameter corresponding with the full turn around the fixed path and the member diameter is greater than the winding diameter.
Implant With Curved Bone Contacting Elements
An implant may include a body having a leading edge portion, a trailing edge portion, and an intermediate portion. The leading edge portion may include a substantially smooth surface forming a substantial majority of a leading edge surface and the trailing edge portion may include a monolithic structure including at least one receptacle configured to receive an insertion tool. The intermediate portion may include a plurality of elongate curved structural members continuously formed with at least one of the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion. In addition, the elongate curved structural members may be configured such that the intermediate portion remains substantially rigid under compressive forces during insertion of the implant between bone surfaces of a patient. Also, the elongate curved structural members may include an elongate curved structural member extending longitudinally from the leading edge portion to the trailing edge portion and having a substantially sinusoidal configuration.
STENT
A stent is disclosed that has an elongated body having a proximal end, a distal end, at least one open spiral channel formed on the exterior surface of the body to provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end. The stent also has a central lumen open at the proximal and distal ends of the stent for the passage of a guide wire. A method for using the stent and a kit containing the stent are also disclosed.
Interbody fusion device
Devices for fixing interbody fusion devices to bone by helically or corkscrew-shaped elements are provided. Methods for surgically implanting an interbody fusion device using helically-shaped fixation wire are provided.
Corpectomy implant
A corpectomy implant is comprised of multiple layers of structural elements having a generalized helical geometry. These elements are separated by structural elements having an undulating planar geometry. The corpectomy implant also includes centrally located structural elements that have a closed loop geometry.
