A cleaning device includes a chassis that can be moved over a ground surface. The cleaning device further includes a space in which a roller-shaped brush provided with bristles is arranged in a rotatable manner about an axle in such a way that the ground can be brushed therewith. The space is connected to an outlet channel for the removal of material brushed away by the bristles. An air channel is arranged in the brush and coaxially with the axle. The air channel has a series of openings directed towards the outlet channel and open between the bristles.

A brushroll for a vacuum cleaner includes a dowel defining a central rotational axis about which the brushroll rotates, at least one bristle stiffener, a plurality of first bristles protruding from the dowel adjacent to the bristle stiffener, and a counterbalance which is positioned relative to the bristle stiffener to rotationally balance the brushroll, wherein the cross-sectional shape of the dowel is asymmetrical.

An apparatus for washing and sanitizing elongate rotary brushes used for cleaning fruit, produce, and other food products includes a cylindrical housing (14), within which is installed a carrier assembly (16) for supporting the rotary brushes (12) to revolve around the interior of the housing and also to simultaneously spin the rotary brushes about their individual longitudinal axis (18). The interior of the housing is divided into separate zones for carrying out the steps of the cleaning and sanitation process. Effluent from the cleaning process is collected in a tank (30) located at the bottom of the housing. The brushes are conveniently loaded onto and removed from the apparatus (10) through a side door opening (52) provided in the housing.

A pool cleaner equipped with a rotating brush assembly is disclosed. The brush assembly is removably coupled to the pool cleaner using clamps that are readily accessible, supported by the pool cleaner, and operable by hand. The clamps may be manipulated between a ready configuration, a loaded configuration to receive a brush assembly, and a locked configuration to secure the brush assembly.

A brushroll for a surface cleaning apparatus includes a brush dowel defining an axis and having opposing bristle supports and a shroud surface between the opposing bristle supports, and a plurality of bristles protruding from the bristle supports. A roller brush assembly and a cleaning device are provided. The above roller brush assembly is applied in the cleaning device, including: a main roller brush; an electric motor configured to drive the main roller brush to rotate to sweep a surface to be cleaned; and an auxiliary roller brush driven by the main roller brush to rotate and sweep the surface to be cleaned towards the main roller brush.
