Systems and methods for attaching soft tissue to an implant
An implant has a soft tissue attachment structure, and a surface defining a trough. An ingrowth plate spans a portion of the trough and defines a suture tunnel between the ingrowth plate and the trough for receiving suture. The ingrowth plate bows convexly away from the surface and is perforated to facilitate long-term ingrowth and biologic fixation of soft tissue to the implant.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING ARTICULAR SURFACES
A joint replacement system for repairing an articular surface of a first bone of a joint includes an anchor portion and an implant portion. The anchor portion includes an anchor to be secured to the bone, and an anchor fixation head including a bone-facing surface (BFS) extending radially outward from the anchor and an implant facing surface (IFS) extending from a periphery of the BFS. The implant portion is formed from a material (e.g., CoCr) more dense than the material of the anchor portion (e.g., Ti) and includes a fixation cavity to receive at least a portion of the anchor fixation head (AFH), the fixation cavity includes an anchor facing surface (AFS) configured to form a frictional connection with the IFS, and a load bearing surface having a contour for articulating against a cooperating articulating surface of a second bone of the joint.
ROTATABLE COLLAR FOR A PROSTHESIS
A collar arranged to couple to a prosthetic component for implantation at the end of a long bone, the prosthetic component having a distal portion arranged to couple to the bone and a proximal neck portion arranged to couple to an articulation component. The collar comprises a plate including a neck hole to receive a neck portion, such that the collar can rotate about the neck portion. The collar further comprises a plurality of attachment portions for coupling the plate to bone fragments or soft tissues. The collar is lockable to the neck portion to prevent further rotation. A prosthesis comprising a combination of a collar, a prosthetic component and an articulation component, and a surgical method of using the collar are also disclosed.
Implantable tissue repair devices
An implantable tissue repair device containing a body having a biocompatible hydrogel and a plurality of tissue anchoring elements projecting from the body, where the anchoring elements are integrally formed with the body and have the same biocompatible hydrogel as the body, and the anchoring elements, in use, are arranged to enter apertures in a tissue and anchor the device to the tissue.
GRAFT COMPOSITE FOR HIP LABRUM RECONSTRUCTION
A composite graft is disclosed, that may replace a segment of the hip labrum during a labral tear reconstruction. The composite graft may include a first sheet that acts as a scaffold and a second sheet that comprises a biologically active component. The first and second sheet are formed in a tubular roll with a spiraled cross section, with alternating layers of the first and second sheet. The composite graft may provide structural integrity for the hip labrum supplemented with growth factors.
Bone structural device
A bone structural device including a plurality of bone structural segments, wherein adjacent bone structural segments are pivotally connected to one another about a pivot axis, and the bone structural segments are expandable in height, which is in a direction generally parallel to the pivot axis.
Fixation devices and prostheses for soft tissue connection to the same
An orthopedic assembly includes a tibial prosthesis that includes a body that defines an anterior side and a posterior side. The body further includes a recess in the anterior side of the joint prosthesis and a plurality of openings that extend through the body from the anterior side to the posterior side thereof. At least a first and second opening of the openings are positioned at respective lateral and medial sides of a longitudinal axis of the tibial prosthesis. A modular insert is positioned within the recess of the body such that at least a portion of the modular insert is positioned between the openings of the body. The modular insert is formed separately from the tibial prosthesis and has a porous outer surface to promote tissue ingrowth.
JOINT PROSTHESIS COMPONENT, RELATED SURGICAL INSTRUMENTATION FOR THE BONE PROCESSING AND PROSTHESIS MANUFACTURING METHOD
The invention relates to a joint prosthesis component (200) adapted to be fixed to a first bone extremity (250) of a joint of a single patient having compromised anatomy, said joint prosthesis component (200) comprises: —at least one fastening portion (202, 205, 206, 207) adapted to be in contact with the first bone extremity; —at least one joint portion (4) adapted to be directly coupled with second bone extremity of the joint or with a conjugate second joint prosthesis component, in turn fixed to the second bone extremity. Advantageously, the fastening portion is at least partially customized to be specifically shaped with respect to the morphology of the first bone extremity processed by means of at least one surgical instrumentation.
Meniscus Substitute and Knee Joint Prosthesis with Meniscus Substitute
The disclosure provides a meniscus substitute and a knee joint prosthesis with the meniscus substitute. The meniscus substitute includes; a base body, disposed on a tibial plateau or a tibial plateau prosthesis of a tibia; a polymer joint body, disposed on the base body; and a bone screw, disposed in the tibia in a penetration manner and connected with the base body.
