EXPANDABLE INTER-BODY DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
Expandable spinal implants, systems and methods are disclosed. An expandable spinal implant may include a first endplate, a second endplate, and a moving mechanism that is operably coupled to the first and second endplates. The moving mechanism may include a wedge, a first sliding frame and a second sliding frame disposed on opposite sides of the wedge, a screw guide housing a rotatable first set screw and a rotatable second set screw opposite the first set screw. The first set screw may be operably coupled to the second sliding frame and the second set screw may be operably coupled to the wedge. The moving mechanism may operably adjust a spacing between the first and second endplates upon simultaneous rotation of the first and second set screws and operably adjust an angle of inclination between the first and second endplates upon translating the first set screw or second set screw.
Hip Arthroplasty Trial Systems and Associated Medical Devices, Methods, and Kits
Hip arthroplasty trial systems and associated medical devices, methods, and kits are described that can be utilized in situ to complete a femoral head trial. An example embodiment of a hip arthroplasty trial system includes a medical device and a femoral stem. The medical device has a head member, a spacer, a shaft, and a locking member. The spacer is disposed within the head member and is moveable from a first position to a second position. The shaft is disposed within the head member and contacts the femoral stem. The shaft is moveable from a first position to a second position. Movement of the shaft from the first position to the second position moves the spacer from its first position to its second position. The locking member is disposed within the head member and releasably attaches the shaft to the head member.
EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL FUSION IMPLANT
An expandable intervertebral fusion implant, including an inferior component, including a first top surface, a first bottom surface, a first end including a first worm rotatably arranged therein, and a second end including a second worm rotatable arranged therein, a superior component, including a second top surface, a second bottom surface, a third end, and a fourth end, and a first expansion mechanism including a first screw, the first screw including a first bottom end connected to the inferior component and a first top end connected to the superior component, wherein as the first worm is rotated in a first circumferential direction, the first screw rotates in a second circumferential direction and the superior component is displaced relative to the inferior component.
Modular femoral trialing system permitting relative movement
An assembly for attachment to a first implant component has a size and shape of a second implant component to be implanted together with the first implant component. The assembly includes a first body and a second body removably connected to the first body. In a temporary configuration, the first and second bodies are prevented from separating while the first and second bodies permit relative movement therebetween. A modular kit includes a plurality of the first bodies each having a different size or shape, and a plurality of the second bodies each having a different size or shape. A method of assembling the assembly includes removably connecting the first body to the second body, such that the first and second bodies are prevented from separating while permitting relative movement therebetween, and positioning the assembly on the first implant component.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR OPERATING SPINAL IMPLANT SYSTEM WITH DUAL AXIS ADJUSTABILITY AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
A surgical instrument includes a chassis, a first driving shaft, a first measuring mechanism, a second measuring mechanism, and a first handle. The chassis defines a first channel and a second channel each extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The first measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the first channel. The second measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the second channel. The first driving shaft is operable to be inserted into the first channel, engaging with the first measuring mechanism. The first driving shaft has an end portion configured to engage and drive a first adjustable feature and/or a second adjustable feature on a work-piece. The handle is operable to be releasably attached to the first driving shaft for applying torque or operable to remove the first driving shaft from the first channel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN EXPANDABLE INTERBODY DEVICE
Various embodiments of an expandable interbody cage device configured to reduce subsidence into an endplate of a vertebral body by including a plurality of arms that engage the cortical tissue of the vertebral body. The plurality of arms increase he surface area and improve distribution of force, especially around stronger parts of the endplate such as the cortical bone at the rim of the endplate. The expandable interbody cage device maintains a low or slim profile while in a “closed” configuration during insertion between vertebrae and is further operable to laterally expand into an “open” configuration that increases the surface area of the expandable interbody cage device after insertion to securely engage the expandable interbody cage device between the vertebra. The expandable interbody cage device further includes one or more ports and/or cavities in which bone graft material can be disposed within.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FIXATING, FUSING AND/OR REALIGNING THE SACROILIAC JOINT
Various embodiments of a coupler and an intradiscal implant for alignment and fusion of the sacroiliac joint are described herein.
EXPANDABLE LUMBAR CAGE AND METHOD FOR INSERTING THE SAME
Provided is an expandable lumbar cage including an upper member, a lower member, a sagittal adjustment unit to adjust sagittal balance of a spine, and a coronal adjustment unit to adjust coronal balance of the spine. According to the foregoing description, it is possible to simultaneously adjust the sagittal balance of the spine as well as the coronal balance, thereby achieving effective treatment of the spine having compound deformity.
Temporary spacer device for joints of the human body
A temporary spacer device for a joint of the human body such as a knee joint includes a first component or femoral component, adapted to be constrained to a bone or to the femoral bone of a patient, at the joint of the human body; a second component or tibial component, adapted to be constrained to a bone or tibial bone of a patient, at the joint of the human body, and at least one stem having a proximal end, wherein the first component or femoral component and/or the second component or tibial component include at least one housing seat for the proximal end of the at least one stem, adapted to allow the inclination and/or rotation of the at least a stem with respect to an insertion axis of the proximal end into the at least one housing seat.
PARALLEL JAW INSERTER
An interbody system including an implant and a tool for inserting and expanding the medical implant and locking the implant in place is disclosed. The medical implant may include an expandable body defined by a superior endplate and an inferior endplate that are hingedly coupled and may be expanded and lordosed. The superior and inferior endplate may include gripping protrusions that mate and/or directly engage with recessed jaws of disclosed surgical tool. The surgical tool may include a vertically movable jaw to expand and contract the implant when engaged with the gripping protrusions of the implant. The surgical tool may also include a drive portion that engages the drive feature of the lock screw with the drive end of the surgical tool lock the implant while in an expanded position.
