Elbow prosthesis
An elbow prosthesis according to the present teachings can include a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure can be operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint. The stem structure can include a stem portion that is operable to be positioned in the bone and a C-shaped body portion having a first retaining mechanism formed thereon. The articulating component can have a second retaining mechanism formed thereon. One of the first and second retaining mechanisms can comprise an extension portion and a first anti-rotation portion. The other retaining mechanism can comprise a receiving portion and a second anti-rotation portion. The articulating component can be advanced from an insertion position to an assembled position, such that the first and second mechanisms cooperatively interlock to inhibit translation and rotation of the articulating component relative to the C-shaped body portion of the stem structure.

A hinge knee system may comprise a femoral component; an insert; a tibial tray configured to be coupled to the insert; a tibial bushing configured to be disposed between the tibial tray and the insert; a poly locking screw configured to secure the tibial tray to the insert; a hinge box configured to be disposed between the femoral component and the insert; one or more cross-pin bushings configured to be disposed within the hinge box; a cross-pin configured to secure the hinge box to the femoral component; a hinge post configured to couple the hinge box to the tibial tray; and a hinge post set screw configured to secure the hinge box to the hinge post.
Modular hinge knee prosthesis and improvements of same
A total knee prosthesis including a tibial component having a baseplate portion and a protruding portion extending from the baseplate portion is disclosed. An axle is connectable to the tibial component directly or indirectly. A femoral component has an articular surface and an opening for receipt of the axle. The opening defines a pivot center about which the femoral prosthesis rotates. The articular surface has a posterior portion having a first flexion radius defining a first flexion center. The first flexion center is offset from the pivot center a distance substantially equal to a product of a constant and the first flexion radius.
TOTAL KNEE IMPLANT PROSTHESIS ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A total knee implant prosthesis is disclosed. The total knee implant prosthesis includes a tibial component including a pair of bearing surfaces and a post positioned between the bearing surfaces, and a femoral component configured to rotate relative to the tibial component. The femoral component includes a pair of condyles sized and shaped to articulate on the bearing surfaces and a cam positioned between the pair of condyles. The cam engages the post at a first contact point when the femoral component is at 0 degrees of flexion and engages the post at a second contact point located lateral of the first contact point when the femoral component is at a first degree of flexion greater than 0 degrees. The cam is disengaged from the post when the femoral component is at a second degree of flexion greater than the first degree of flexion.
MULTIPLE SPINDLE ADJUSTABLE INTERBODY FUSION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
An interbody fusion device includes a base member, a top member, and an expansion mechanism for moving the top member relative to the base member. The expansion mechanism may include a connector drive rod assembly, a gear, a threaded rod, and a support means. The gear ring is coupled to the threaded rod and is rotatable. The expansion mechanism may also include at least one load head coupled to the threaded rod. An alternative interbody fusion device is also disclosed and includes a bottom member, a superior member, and an expansion mechanism for moving the superior member relative to the base member, wherein the expansion mechanism comprises at least one expansion assembly for moving an end of the superior member relative to the bottom member.
PROSTHETIC ELBOW JOINT IMPLANT AND KIT
Provided is an elbow joint prosthetic implant (100) comprising: a humeral component (50) comprising a humeral stem portion (60) configured for placement within the humeral intramedullary canal of a subject, an ulnar component (110) comprising an ulnar stem portion (120) configured for placement within the ulnar intramedullary canal of the subject, wherein the humeral component (50) and ulnar component (110) are connected by an implant elbow joint (130), wherein the ulnar component (110) further comprises an angulation joint (140) that is separate from the implant elbow joint (130), wherein the angulation joint (140) and has at least one degree of freedom of rotational movement configured to adjust and fix a varus-valgus direction of the ulnar stem portion (120).
Expandable intervertebral device and tool for inserting same
An expandable interbody device for implantation within an intervertebral space is provided, together with methods and tools for use therewith. The interbody devices include a leading first and trailing second bearing member configured to expand laterally via connecting portions disposed at the trailing end of the first being member and at least the leading end of the second bearing member. In some forms, the connecting portions have an arcuate configuration. The insertion tool is configured expand the interbody device by holding the first bearing member while shifting the second bearing member.
Artificial Disc Replacements With Natural Kinematics
This invention improves upon prior art total disc replacements (TDRs) by more closely replicating the kinematics of a natural disc. The preferred embodiments feature two or more fixed centers of rotation (CORs) and an optional variable COR (VCOR) as the artificial disk replacement (ADR) translates from a fixed posterior COR that lies posterior to the COR of the TDR to facilitate normal disc motion. The use of two or more CORs allows more flexion and more extension than permitted by the facet joints and the artificial facet (AF). AF joint-like components may also be incorporated into the design to restrict excessive translation, rotation, and/or lateral bending.
ELBOW PROSTHESIS AND METHOD OF USE
The elbow prosthesis includes an ulnar component that has a bearing end and a stem. The stem attached to the bearing end and extends in a distal direction from it. The elbow prosthesis also has a humeral component that includes a holder end and a stem with the stem extending in a proximal direction from the holder end. The prosthesis further includes at least one bearing member that is connected to the holder end with the bearing end being attached within the holder end to allow for rotation and articulation against the at least one bearing member. The bearing end and holder are attached to each other by a coupling mechanism that includes an opening positioned on the posterior aspect of the holder end and a mating surface on the bearing body. A method of using the elbow prosthesis and a total elbow prosthesis kit are also disclosed.
ADJUSTABLE INTERBODY FUSION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
Interbody fusion devices, insertion tools, methods for assembling an interbody fusion device, and methods for inserting a medical device between two vertebral bodies are disclosed. The interbody fusion device includes a base member, a top member, and at least one movement mechanism. The base member includes at least one of a pivotal cylinder and a hinge channel. The top member includes at least one of a pivot cylinder and a hinge channel. The at least one pivot cylinder of the base member engages the at least one hinge channel of the top member and the at least one pivot cylinder of the top member engages the at least one hinge channel of the base member. The at least one movement mechanism engages the top member and the base member. Also disclosed are a vertebral spacer device and an interbody spacer system including an insertion tool and an interbody fusion device.
