Toothbrush

A toothbrush includes a main body that includes a head portion with a bristle raising surface on which bristles are provided in a standing manner, a grip portion, and a neck portion. A light emission portion that emits light through a specific region of the bristle raising surface toward a tooth surface and a light reception portion that receives radiated light from the tooth surface resulting from the light, through the specific region, are provided inside of the main body. It is determined whether or not there is dental plaque on the tooth surface based on the output of the light reception portion. A light reception and condensing portion that condenses the radiated light from the tooth surface toward the light reception surface of the light reception portion is arranged in the housing portion forming the specific region.

TRACKED TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHBRUSH TRACKING SYSTEM

A dental device tracking method including acquiring, using an imager of a dental device, at least a first image which includes an image of at least one user body portion outside of a user's oral cavity; identifying the at least one user body portion in the first image; and determining, using the at least the first image, a position of the dental device with respect to the at least one user body portion.

Oral care system and method

An oral care system may include: an oral care device including: at least one teeth cleaning element; and at least one sensor configured to detect motion of the oral care device during a brushing routine of a user and to generate sensor data corresponding to the detected motion; and a programmable processor configured to: receive the sensor data generated by the at least one sensor; and determine a target brushing time based on the sensor data.

Light-emitting oral care implement

An oral care implement comprises a head with a plurality of cleaning elements, the head comprising a chamber. The oral care implement may include a reflective or refractive membrane positioned within the chamber. A light source may also be positioned within the chamber such that light from the light source is directed at the reflective or refractive membrane. The oral care implement may also include a head plate with a plurality of tooth cleaning elements coupled thereto, the head plate positioned over the chamber. The light from the light source may be emitted through the head plate. In some embodiments the oral care implement may be a toothbrush. In other embodiments the oral care implement may be non-toothbrush type implements that include a body forming a chamber within which the lighting components are positioned.

Toothbrush orientation system

A system for determining the orientation of a toothbrush (4), the system comprising an orientation sensor (27) configured for attachment to a toothbrush (4) and one or more processors (29) configured to receive orientation information from the orientation sensor (27). The one or more processors (29) are further configured to determine whether the sensor (27) is in a first orientation (41) or a second orientation (33). The first orientation (41) corresponds to use of the toothbrush (4) on a surface of teeth on the left (42) of a user's mouth. The second orientation (33) corresponds to use of the toothbrush (4) on a surface of teeth on the right (40) of a user's mouth.

System for amplitude adjustment of an oral care appliance

The amplitude control assembly for an oral care appliance includes a capacitance-sensing touch array (26) responsive to the position of a user's touch thereon to change the value of capacitance from the array, as determined by a sensor (30). A control assembly (24), responsive to the change of capacitance, changes an operating characteristic of the drive signal for the appliance, to change the amplitude of motion of a workpiece portion of the oral care appliance.

Systems and methods for estimating a three-dimensional pose

A method for estimating a pose of an oral hygiene device including a pattern and a plurality of groups of visual markers relative to a location includes (i) receiving image data reproducible as an image of at least a portion of the oral hygiene device; (ii) analyzing the image data to identify a region of interest within the image; (iii) identifying, using at least one of the one or more processors, all candidate visual markers within the region of interest; (iv) obtaining a first proposed three-dimensional pose of the oral hygiene device; (v) validating the first proposed three-dimensional pose of the oral hygiene device; and (vi) obtaining a second proposed three-dimensional pose of the oral hygiene device based on the validated first proposed three-dimensional pose.

Auto-adjusting vehicle pressure washer

A pressure washing system is disclosed for integration into a recreational vehicle or other large mobile vehicle. The wand of the system includes a rotating brush and one or more sensors to determine a distance from, pressure against, or orientation with respect to the vehicle. While a pump is supplying water to be output by the wand, the distance, pressure, orientation, or other sensor readings are continuously used to modify output characteristics of the wand, including the output water pressure and the speed of rotation of the brush. As a result, no more pressure is supplied by water or brush bristles than is necessary, avoiding overuse of water or damage to outer surfaces of the vehicle. Sensor readings may include one or more of a camera feed, sonar, lidar, pressure feedback, and accelerometer data. The system may also be responsive to a mobile app on a user's mobile computing device.

Connected hairbrush

A system that includes a styling tool configured to treat or shape a user's hair; and a client device configured to communicate with the styling tool and provide feedback to the user regarding a user's usage of the styling tool based at least in part on measured data captured by the styling tool. The styling tool may be a hairbrush that includes circuitry and/or sensors configured to detect one or more of sound, acceleration, force, rotation, hair humidity, and ambient temperature and humidity.

A device and a method for determining a position of a user's body portion. The device includes a camera, configured to capture the body portion, and a display for providing visual feedback. A sensor determines at least one of a roll angle, a pitch angle, and a yaw angle of the device, and an interface receives picture data related to a pictorial representation of the body portion captured and sensor data related to the determined angle of the device. An analyzer analyzes, based on the picture data, whether the captured body portion is within a predetermined region of the picture and, based on the sensor data, whether at least one of the roll angle, the pitch angle, and the yaw angle is within a predetermined angle range. The method includes capturing the body portion, providing visual feedback, receiving angle data, receiving picture data, and analyzing whether the captured body portion is within a predetermined region and whether at least one of the roll, pitch, and yaw angles is within a predetermined angle range.
