A hair brush system with a rapid, consistent, and efficient means for connecting and ejecting the brush handle from the brush head. The hair brushes feature a strong support member structure that gives the hairbrush strength while the handle and brush head are connected. The handle has a pair of barbed ejection fingers that engage and retain the brush head. When separation of the brush handle and the brush head is desired, the user depresses an actuator associated with each ejection finger. The compressed ejection finger has a tip that comes into contact with a conical protrusion in the brush head. The resulting action first disengages the brush head and then causes an outward force to be applied to the brush head thereby ejecting it from the handle.

An adapter for disposition in various tool handles to convert the single use tool into a multi-functional tool. The adapter can be added to a tool handle during or post manufacture. The adapter has a domed hammerhead on a threaded shaft, with a square shoulder beneath the head for rotation resistance, a threaded shaft, a normally disposed tubular portion having one or two hexagonal bit holders, one of which may be blocked off, and an optional lower threaded shaft portion. A toothbrush includes a handle and a head mounted to the handle. In one aspect, the head may include a base structure having a front surface. A cleaning element carrier may be at least partially suspended above the front surface of the base structure so that at least a portion of the cleaning element carrier is movable relative to the base structure in a direction towards the front surface of the base structure. The cleaning element carrier may have a first segment and a second segment that are separated by a gap. A plurality of bristle tufts may extend from the first and second segments of the cleaning element carrier. A central cleaning element may extend from the front surface of the base structure and through the gap between the first and second segments of the cleaning element carrier.

A hygienic oral pacification device includes a fluid-filled bladder. The bladder includes a nipple and alveolar ridge-mating flanges. The bladder is dynamically shaped and allows for pressures provided by the suckling child to re-shaping the bladder and flanges. A bite-block extends into the bladder to maintain a fluid path from nipple to flanges. As the child completes the suckling cycle, the bladder nipple is depressed and fluid is forced in the engorging flanges. The flanges thus cover the alveolar ridges and fill the vestibules. The flanges may be covered with a textured surface, or bristles, that provide mechanical brushing of oral surfaces. Denitrifies may be applied over the bristles to enhance cleaning.
