VACUUM SYSTEM FOR A PROSTHETIC FOOT
A prosthetic foot comprising a vacuum system configured to attach to a vacuum attachment apparatus and a residual limb. The prosthetic foot may comprise a resilient bottom member, a resilient top member, and a vacuum system. The resilient bottom member may comprise a front end and a rear end. The resilient top member may comprise a front end and a rear end and the front end of the resilient top member may be connected to the front end of the resilient bottom member. The vacuum system may be coupled to an underside of the rear end of the top member. The vacuum system may comprise a compressible member, a chamber located within the compressible member, a universal valve system received within the compressible member, a passageway connecting the valve system and the chamber, and an air return coupled to the valve system and the vacuum attachment apparatus.
COMPRESSION HEEL PROSTHETIC FOOT
A mounting bracket for a prosthetic foot configured to attach to a residual limb, comprising an upper member, a lower member and compression torsion joint. The upper member comprises an upper flange, a mating post, and mounting portion configured to attach to the residual limb. The lower member comprises a mating portion, a lower flange, and a mounting portion configured to attach to the prosthetic foot. The compression torsion joint couples the upper member to the lower member and is configured to limit the vertical movement and torsional movement of the upper member with respect to the lower member.
BIOMIMETIC JOINT ACTUATORS
In a powered actuator for supplying torque, joint equilibrium, and/or impedance to a joint, a motor is directly coupled to a low-reduction ratio transmission, e.g., a transmission having a gear ratio less than about 80 to 1. The motor has a low dissipation constant, e.g., less than about 50 W/(Nm).sup.2. The transmission is serially connected to an elastic element that is also coupled to the joint, thereby supplying torque, joint equilibrium, and/or impedance to the joint while minimizing the power consumption and/or acoustic noise of the actuator.
Robust Adaptable Foot Prosthesis
A device is provided to allow adaptation of a prosthetic or robotic foot in the medial-lateral direction, including pronation and supination of the foot using a series of articulations. Articulations are permitted in the disclosed device due to linkage systems positioned at various locations of the prosthetic foot. In particular, the device includes multiple connected linkage systems each including upper and lower portions with an articulating contact surface designed for load carriage and stability. The point of contact between the contact surfaces of each linkage system comprises the position-dependent instantaneous center of rotation of the upper portion with respect to the lower portion. The device also includes a platform coupled between the linkage systems and a base.
Mounting bracket for connecting a prosthetic limb to a prosthetic foot
A mounting bracket for a prosthetic foot configured to attach to a residual limb, comprising an upper member, a lower member and compression torsion joint. The upper member comprises an upper flange, a mating post, and mounting portion configured to attach to the residual limb. The lower member comprises a mating portion, a lower flange, and a mounting portion configured to attach to the prosthetic foot. The compression torsion joint couples the upper member to the lower member and is configured to limit the vertical movement and torsional movement of the upper member with respect to the lower member.
Unibody Endoskeletal Transtibial Prosthetic Devices and Digital Fabrication Workflow
A transtibial prosthetic device comprises a pylon configured as a unitary truss structure formed of a plurality of elongated supports interconnected at nodes and having open spaces between supports of the plurality of elongated supports. The unitary truss structure comprises a polymer. A foot-ankle complex extends from a base of the pylon. The foot-ankle complex comprises an s-shaped posterior portion, an s-shaped anterior portion, and a sole portion. The s-shaped posterior portion and the s-shaped anterior portion both extend from the sole portion, have upper portions with curvatures that are concentric with each other, and are separated from each other by a gap.
CARBON FIBER PROSTHETIC FOOT
A hollow tubulous composite structure and method for prosthetic limbs is described.
PROSTHETIC FOOT WITH SPACED SPRING ELEMENTS
A prosthetic foot includes a base spring, a top spring assembly, a connector assembly, and a heel cushion. The top spring assembly includes first and second spring members, and first and second bond connections. The second spring member extends parallel with and spaced apart from the first spring member. The first bond connection is between distal ends of the first and second spring members, and the second bond connection is between a distal end of the second spring member and a top surface of the base spring. The top spring assembly has a first portion arranged horizontally, and a second portion arranged vertically. The connector is connected to a proximal end of the top spring assembly to connect the prosthetic foot to a lower limb prosthesis. The heel cushion is mounted to the base spring at a location spaced forward of a heel end of the base spring.
PARALLELOGRAM LOAD CELL
A device includes a first member and a second member disposed in series along a longitudinal axis. The device also includes links coupling first joints of the first member to second joints of the second member. The first and second members and the links arranged to define a planar parallelogram linkage. The devices also include a resilient element disposed between the first member and the second member, the first member and the second member preloaded against the resilient element. The first member and the second member are preloaded to provide an arrangement of the first and the second joints in which a motion of the first joints with respect to the second joints is constrained to a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The devices further include a sensor for generating a signal indicating a separation between the first member and the second member.
Apparatus and method for a prosthetic foot cover
A prosthetic foot cover for a prosthetic foot having a sagittal plane and a plantar surface including a first cover component having a first internal cavity and being adapted to receive and cover a first portion of the prosthetic foot, a second cover component having a second internal cavity and being adapted to receive and cover a second portion of the prosthetic foot, and a means for detachably attaching the first cover component and the second cover component to the prosthetic foot. The first internal cavity has a first internal cavity contacting surface that directly contacts the first portion of the prosthetic foot, and the second internal cavity has a second internal cavity contacting surface that directly contacts the second portion of the prosthetic foot. A method for installing the prosthetic foot cover on the prosthetic foot.
