Low profile non-symmetrical stent
Various stents and stent-graft systems for treatment of medical conditions are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary stent-graft system may be used for endovascular treatment of a thoracic aortic aneurysm. The stent-graft system may comprise proximal and distal components, each comprising a graft having proximal and distal ends, where upon deployment the proximal and distal components at least partially overlap with one another to provide a fluid passageway therebetween. The proximal component may comprise a proximal stent having a plurality of proximal and distal apices connected by a plurality of generally straight portions, where a radius of curvature of at least one of the proximal apices may be greater than the radius of curvature of at least one of the distal apices. The distal component may comprise a proximal z-stent coupled to the graft, where the proximal end of the graft comprises at least scallop formed therein that generally follows the shape of the proximal z-stent. Further, the distal component may comprise at least one z-stent stent coupled to the distal end of the graft and extending distally therefrom that reduces proximal migration of the distal component.
MEDICAL IMPLANT
A medical implant has a center axis and includes first and second flexible waved strands disposed around the center axis. The second flexible waved strand is in spatial communication with the first flexible waved strand to form a plurality of first unit shapes and a plurality of second unit shapes. Therein, the first unit shapes and the second unit shapes are staggered around the center axis. The first unit shapes are coupled to the second unit shapes to cause the first and second flexible waved strands to move substantially along the center axis. The first and second flexible waved strands together define a self-anchoring configuration in a radial direction perpendicular to the center axis so that a ratio of a von Mises stress to an axial displacement of the medical implant during an implant compression of the medical implant is greater than 0.1 and less than 30.
Covered Stent
A stent graft comprises a plurality of wavy rings sequentially arranged in a spaced manner, and membranes fixed to the plurality of wavy rings, wherein the stent graft comprises, in a circumferential direction, at least one keel region and a non-keel region connected to the keel region, the keel region having an axial shortening rate that is less than that of the non-keel region, and the axial shortening rate of the keel region is 10-40%. The stent graft can be bent in all directions, and the keel region on the stent graft can provide a sufficient amount of an axial support force for the stent.
Stent
A stent comprising a stent body and a plurality of cells is disclosed. The stent body defines a length. Each cell includes two structural members extending in an undulating pattern. Each structural member includes a plurality of cell segments defining a plurality of nodes therebetween. At least one node includes a non-constant radius of curvature.
Monolithic medical devices and methods of use
A monolithic device comprising an ultra-dense stent cell pattern including a plurality of structural members that diverts the majority of blood flow without restricting blood flow completely. The method of making medical devices comprises vapor depositing an initial film onto a substrate, laser cutting a device pattern through the initial film, electropolishing the patterned device while disposed on the substrate, and releasing the patterned device from the substrate.
Low profile non-symmetrical stent
A stent for use in a medical procedure having opposing sets of curved apices, where the curved section of one set of apices has a radius of curvature that is greater than the curved section of the other set of apices. One or more such stents may be attached to a graft material for use in endovascular treatment of, for example, aneurysm, thoracic dissection, or other body vessel condition.
Balloon catheter having multiple inflation lumens and related methods
An apparatus is for performing a medical procedure using an inflation fluid. The apparatus includes a shaft with two inflation lumens for transmitting the inflation fluid. A balloon supported by the shaft has an interior capable of being inflated by the inflation fluid transmitted through the inflation lumens of the shaft. The tubes defining the inflation lumens provide two outlets for transmitting different flows of the inflation fluid to the interior of the balloon. A stent and related methods are also disclosed.
Double stent
The invention relates to a double stent comprising 2 coaxially arranged stents, wherein a first membrane is arranged between a first inner stent and a second outer stent and a second membrane is arranged on the second stent and wherein the membrane ends of the first and second membrane are brought together at the ends of the stents and are folded over onto the inside of the first stent and clamped under flexible tongues of the first stent.
Intravascular stent
An expandable stent for implanting in a body lumen, such as a coronary artery, peripheral artery, or other body lumen. In one aspect, the stent includes a butterfly pattern to which connecting links are attached. In another aspect, the stent embodies a non-directional structure.
