Stretch laminate, method of making, and absorbent article
A stretch laminate includes a first layer including an elastomer film, the first layer having a surface, and a second layer including a nonwoven material, the second layer having a surface that is attached to the surface of the first layer. The tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the stretch laminate is within about 2.5 N/cm of the tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the film at an engineering strain of about 1.5, and exists independent of mechanical activation. A method of making the stretch laminate and an absorbent article having at least one region defined by the stretch laminate are also provided.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING INTEGRATED STRETCH MONITORING
An absorbent article for personal hygiene such as a diaper, or training pant, or incontinence insert, the absorbent article comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet; a liquid impermeable backsheet; an absorbent core interposed between said topsheet and said backsheet, together forming an absorbent article chassis having a front edge, a back edge and oppositely disposed side edges connecting said front and back edges and running along a longitudinal axis y; an elastic-material-com prising component selected from the group consisting of: one or more cuffs extending substantially parallel to said side edges comprising one or more elastic elements; one or more transversal barriers extending substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis y and along said front and/or back edges, said transversal barriers comprising one or more elastic elements; one or more, preferably at least two, side panels comprising one or more elastic elements, said side panels being joined to said chassis about a proximal end thereof and having a distal end extending away from said chassis along a transverse axis x being substantially perpendicular to said longitudinal axis y; one or more elastic waistbands positioned adjacent said front and/or back edges comprising one or more elastic elements; and combinations thereof; and a detection device that can be removably attached to the absorbent article, wherein the elastic elements comprise a conductive material and/or coating and are in electrical communication with said detection device arranged to provide a signal upon a change in resistance or capacitance in response to a change in extension of said elastic element(s) (107).
Disposable absorbent articles
An absorbent article comprising a first and second plurality of elastics. The first plurality of elastics may be disposed in a front and a crotch region. The second plurality of elastics may be disposed in a back region and the crotch region. The first and second plurality of elastics may be linear and parallel with a transverse axis of the article.
WEARABLE ARTICLE HAVING ELASTIC BELT
Disclosed is a wearable article 20 comprising a main body 38 and a ring-like elastic belt 40 comprising a front belt and a back belt each formed by an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and a plurality of elastic bodies sandwiched therebetween and running in the transverse direction substantially parallel to each other, and at least a portion of the elasticity of at least some of the elastic bodies are removed of its elasticity, the transverse width of the elastic body having the longest length removed of its elasticity defined as a maximum elastic cut window; wherein the length of the article along the longitudinal axis is from 300 mm to 440 mm; and the maximum elastic cut window is less than 100 mm.
Body conforming disposable absorbent article having leg wraps and internal topsheet and method of making same
A secondary internal topsheet and leg wrap structure is provided in a disposable absorbent garment such as a diaper or training pants. The leg wrap structure has a base layer, a top layer, and an elastic construction disposed inbetween. The elastic construction includes a plurality of spaced apart elastic elements that are aligned in a generally in generally parallel relation. The leg wrap structure and secondary topsheet provides for the efficient formation of a reservoir and a plurality of fluid dams each capable of capturing a quantity of fluid to minimize the occurrence of fluid leaks from the absorbent article. Methods of forming such absorbent articles are disclosed.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING AN ABSORBENT CORE CONFIGURED TO DEFINE A CONTAINMENT ZONE
The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles having an absorbent core that can comprise a laminate longitudinally folded such that the absorbent core includes a lower laminate layer and, within each of first and second longitudinally-extending edge regions, one or more folded laminate layers. A center region of the lower layer can be bonded to a chassis and can span a lateral distance smaller than the width of the absorbent core such that at least a portion of the absorbent core in each of the edge regions is configured to lift away from the chassis. The present absorbent cores can thus define a containment zone to reduce liquid and/or feces leakage.
DISPOSABLE ARTICLE WITH REINFORCED HANDLE
A pant-like absorbent articles having handles on side panels of the article for ease of removal and donning of the absorbent garment is disclosed. The article includes a front waist region, a back waist region, and a chassis extending longitudinally between and interconnecting the front and back waist regions attached by at least one side panel. Formed within the side panel is at least one handle. The handle includes an aperture formed through the side panel. The handle further includes a reinforcing material operatively joined to the at least one side panel adjacent distal side edges of the aperture.
ELASTIC COMPOSITE AND ABSORBENT ARTICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
An elastic composite (10, 110, 210, 310) can include a first layer (20, 120, 220, 320), a second layer (22, 122, 222, 322), and a third layer (24, 124, 224, 324). The third layer (24, 124, 224, 324) can be formed by at least one elastic material (32, 132, 232, 332) and can be coupled to the second layer (22, 122, 222, 322) when the elastic material (32, 132, 232, 332) is in an extended condition. The first layer (20, 120, 220, 320) can be coupled to the second layer (22, 122, 222, 322) near the first and second longitudinal edge (16, 18) but can be independent of the second layer (22, 122, 222, 322) therebetween such that the first layer (20, 120, 220, 320) forms gathers (36, 136, 236, 336) when the elastic composite (10, 110, 210, 310) is in a retracted condition.

An absorbent article may comprise a chassis having a front waist region, a rear waist region, a crotch region between the front waist region and the rear waist region, a pair of longitudinal edges, and a pair of side panels extending between and connecting the front waist region and the rear waist region to form a leg opening. Each side panel may comprise a stretch laminate joined by a mechanical bond. The article may bear a chassis graphic disposed on a backsheet and a side panel graphic disposed on a side panel.
Easy change protective underwear
A disposable absorbent article, including cohesive material side panels is presented in a protective underwear style to the user.
