Laminate webs and absorbent articles having the same
A laminate web having a polymer film layer and a nonwoven layer is disclosed. The polymer film layer makes up a first side of the laminate web and the nonwoven layer makes up a second side of the laminate web. The laminate web has a plurality of first elements extending from the polymer film. The web also has a plurality of second elements such as recesses, protrusions, apertures, embossing and combinations thereof.

The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid management system (LMS) and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate a topsheet and a backsheet. The LMS defines one or more channels therein. The one or more channels of the LMS may at least partially overlap or not overlap with channels defined in the absorbent core.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL HOT-MELT BONDED LAMINATE
An absorbent article such as a baby diaper comprising a three-dimensional laminate 30 having a first layer 1 intermittently bonded to a second layer 2 by a heterophase polymer. The topsheet comprises three-dimensional protrusions 9 in the first layer 1 which are not bonded to the second layer 2. The heterophase polymer has an enthalpy of fusion of at least 10 J/g. The laminate may be used on the wearer-facing side of the article as topsheet 24 and/or on the garment-facing side as part of the backsheet 26. The first layer may comprise natural fibers.

Absorbent Article Comprising A Three-Dimensional Substrate
An absorbent article having a longitudinal axis, a transverse axis, a topsheet; a backsheet; an acquisition layer disposed between the topsheet and backsheet; first and second absorbent layers is described. The topsheet and acquisition layer form a three dimensional substrate having a first surface and an opposing second surface, a plurality of recesses and a plurality of land areas, wherein each recess is separated from one another by at least one land area, and wherein each of the plurality of recesses has an opening at a base of the recess, and side walls extending from the second surface to a distal portion. The first absorbent layer is disposed between the acquisition layer and backsheet and has a mixture of pulp and synthetic fibers. The second absorbent layer is disposed between the first absorbent layer and backsheet and has super absorbent polymer attached to a core wrap.
Nonwoven Webs With Hydrophobic And Hydrophilic Layers
A nonwoven web for use in an absorbent article is described. The nonwoven web has first and second nonwoven layers. The first nonwoven layer has a first plurality of fibers, an additive disposed, at least in part, on a portion of the first plurality of fibers, a first side and an opposing second side, wherein second side has a plurality of discontinuities. The second nonwoven layer has a second plurality of fibers, a first surface and an opposing second surface, and a plurality of tufts extending through at least a portion of the discontinuities in the first nonwoven layer, wherein the second nonwoven layer is attached to the first nonwoven layer such that at least a portion of the second plurality of fibers are in liquid communication with the first nonwoven layer, wherein the first nonwoven layer is hydrophobic and the second nonwoven layer is hydrophilic.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH POLYMERIC FILLER COMPOSITION
An absorbent article comprising a first nonwoven material joined to a second nonwoven material by at least one bond area, wherein a polymeric filler composition is disposed within the bond area and the composition comprises at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polypropylene homopolymers, propylene-ethylene copolymers, and mixtures thereof, wherein the composition is substantially free of tackifiers. It was found that such polymer filler compositions having a Toughness of at least 25 MPa, as measured according to the Extensional Test Method described herein, provide bonds with good resistance to peel creep force.
