A fluid management layer having an integrated, carded nonwoven is described. The fluid management layer has a basis weight of between about 40 grams per square meter (gsm) and about 75 gsm, and a plurality of absorbent fibers, a plurality of stiffening fibers and a plurality of resilient fibers. The fluid management layer may have a compression distance of at least 0.60 mm.

An absorbent pad including a top layer. The top layer including a first sheet, the first sheet including an outward face and an inward face, wherein the first sheet comprises a wicking material, the first sheet further including a volume approximation grid having a plurality of fluid volume estimation regions. The top layer including a second sheet, the second sheet comprising an absorbent material, the second sheet attached to the inward face of the first sheet. The absorbent pad including a bottom layer including an outward face and an inward face, the inward face of the bottom layer attached to the second sheet. The absorbent pad including a visual fluid indicator disposed on at least a portion of the top layer or the bottom layer.

A disposable absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a fluid management layer disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core is disclosed. The disposable absorbent article provides improved fluid acquisition, improved stain size control, and improved performance when wet.

An absorbent core including one or more nonwoven webs with superabsorbent fibers. The superabsorbent fibers may include one or more surfactants. The one or more nonwoven webs have an amount of extractables of less than 20 weight-%, and/or an amount of titratable soluble of less than 20%. The nonwoven webs have a capacity of at least 7 g/g. The absorbent core may be used in an absorbent article.

The present disclosure relates to an absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and an intermediate layer disposed between the topsheet and the absorbent core, wherein the intermediate layer comprises a nonwoven which comprises a plurality of apertures, absorbent fibers, and ultrafine fibers. The nonwoven comprises the ultrafine fibers of about 3% to about 35% by weight of the nonwoven, and at least most of the plurality of apertures have a hydraulic diameter in the range of about 600 m to about 4500 m.
