Absorbent Articles Having Three Dimensional Substrates and Indicia
An absorbent article comprises a three-dimensional liquid permeable topsheet. The topsheet comprises a first layer comprising a hydrophobic material and a second layer comprising a hydrophilic material. The first layer is joined to the second layer. The topsheet comprises a plurality of recesses, a plurality of projections, and a plurality of land areas. The land areas surround at least a majority of the plurality of projections and a plurality of the recesses. The absorbent article comprises a liquid impermeable backsheet, an acquisition material, an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate the acquisition material and the liquid impermeable backsheet, and an indicia. The indicia is on the acquisition material or the liquid permeable topsheet. The indicia is visible from a wearer-facing side of the absorbent article. The indicia is different color than the acquisition material or the liquid permeable topsheet.
Transfer layer for absorbent article
A film particularly suited for use as a transfer layer in an absorbent article has a plurality of capillaries and a plurality of drains, said capillaries comprising side walls depending from a female side of the film and terminating in an aperture on a male side of the film; said drains comprising side walls that depending from the female side of the film and terminating in an aperture on the male side of the film, wherein the drains are disposed at an obtuse angle relative to a base plane of the film.
Ultra-thin absorbent article
The present invention generally relates to sanitary absorbent articles and in particular to disposable feminine sanitary absorbent articles that are extremely thin, highly absorbent and have superior structural integrity properties.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING APERTURED, THREE-DIMENSIONAL MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME
A method is provided for forming a plurality of apertures in a nonwoven substrate for an absorbent article, the substrate defining a first surface and a second surface. A plurality of conical-shaped pins is inserted through the substrate from the first surface to the second surface to form a plurality of corresponding apertures in the substrate.
Absorbent article with improved capillary acceleration sheet
An absorbent article comprising a liquid pervious topsheet (300), a liquid impervious backsheet (200), absorbent material positioned between the liquid pervious topsheet and the liquid impervious backsheet, and a capillary acceleration sheet (400) between the absorbent material and the liquid pervious topsheet, wherein the absorbent material, typically comprising superabsorbent particles, is arranged on a bottom core wrap sheet such that one or more channels are formed, wherein less absorbent material per surface area is present in the one or more channels compared to an area around the one or more channels, wherein preferably substantially no absorbent material is present in the one or more channels, wherein the capillary acceleration sheet (400) comprises at least one meltblown layer, and wherein the at least one meltblown layer represents between 2 and 8 weight % of the weight of the capillary acceleration sheet.
