20190328587 · 2019-10-31 ·

An absorbent article having a front side, a back side, a longitudinal axis notionally extending in a longitudinal direction from the middle of the front side to the middle of the back side. The absorbent article has a length L measured along the longitudinal axis. The absorbent article comprises a liquid permeable topsheet on the wearer-facing side, a liquid impermeable backsheet on the garment-facing side, an absorbent core between the topsheet and the backsheet, and an acquisition layer comprising two or more discrete longitudinally-orientated stripes of an acquisition material between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The topsheet forms recesses at the surface of the absorbent article in the gaps between the stripes.

Fluid distribution material for absorbent articles

A fluid distribution material for an absorbent article includes a formed film that includes a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side includes a plurality of elongated ridges extending from a first land area, a plurality of valleys defined by adjacent elongated ridges and the first land area, and a plurality of primary apertures located at bottoms of the valleys. The second side includes a plurality of apertured protuberances extending from a second land area. Each of the protuberances includes a continuous sidewall extending from the second land area to a distal end that includes a secondary aperture substantially aligned with a primary aperture. The formed film has a thickness greater than about 0.9 mm under a pressure of 0.071 psi, and a thickness greater than about 0.3 mm under a pressure of 0.6 psi.

Three-dimensional sheet material and absorbent articles including such material

The present application discloses and claims a three-dimensional sheet material and an absorbent article which utilizes the sheet material within the article. The three-dimensional sheet material is designed to minimize the contact area on one side of the material thereby making it useful for various applications including a body contacting top sheet or liner material.

Absorbent product comprising inlet material

An absorbent product includes a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet and an absorbent core enclosed between the liquid pervious topsheet and liquid impervious backsheet. The absorbent product has in its longitudinal direction a crotch part and two end parts. The absorbent product includes at least in its crotch part an inlet material having a plurality of openings. The plurality of openings in the inlet material are formed from a plurality of slits extending in the transversal direction of the absorbent product by expanding the continuous inlet material in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent product. The liquid inlet material has in its transversal direction of the absorbent product a central region and two edge regions. The openings are located in the central region so that the central region of the material with the plurality of openings has a lesser degree of elasticity than the edge regions.

Absorbent article and distribution material

An absorbent article comprises a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core comprises an absorbent material. The absorbent article further comprises a distribution material between the topsheet and the absorbent core. The distribution material is notionally divided in a front region, a back region and a middle region located between the front and the back region. Each of the front, back and middle regions is of the length of the distribution material. At least one of the front, back and middle regions of the distribution material comprises one or more layers. The one or more layers of the distribution material comprise a fibrous structure made of wet-laid fibers.

Absorbent article

Provided is an absorbent article having a top sheet with an opening-formed area in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas in which no openings are formed, said absorbent article being capable of preventing liquid from remaining on the surface of the opening-formed area of the top sheet. In the present invention, the top sheet is a resin sheet having an opening-formed area (12) in which openings are formed, and non-opening-formed areas (5, 14) in which no openings are formed. The opening-formed area (12) is disposed in an outlet-facing area (16) that faces at least an outlet for fluid from a wearer. The top sheet (2) has a blood modifier layer on the surface of at least the outlet-facing area (16). The blood modifier of the blood modifier layer has an inorganic/organic balance (IOB) of 0 to 0.60, a melting point of not more than 45 C., and an aqueous solubility of 0.05 g or less with respect to 100 g of water at 25 C.

ABSORBENT COMPOSITE, AN ABSORBENT ARTICLE EMPLOYING THE SAME, AND METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING THE ABSORBENT COMPOSITE AND/OR ARTICLE
20190167493 · 2019-06-06 ·

An absorbent core composite is disclosed for incorporation into a disposable absorbent article. The composite includes a first material layer and a second material layer (preferably nonwoven) partially secured to the first material layer to define at least one pocket therebetween. Preferably, multiple pockets are defined, except in the case of where a generally uniform layer or bed of absorbent is preferred or better suited for the application. The pocket is said have a fixed initial volume. Further, an aggregate of absorbent particles is provided in the pocket(s) to occupy a portion of the fixed initial volume. The absorbent particles are preferably SAP particles and is characterized by a dry volume associated with a dry state and a swell volume associated with a liquid saturation state. In respect to or for the pocket, the aggregate is characterized by a collective dry volume and a collective swell volume, wherein the pocket has an initial configuration that retains the aggregate therein.

ABSORBENT CORE WITH EFFICIENT FLOW GUIDE PROPERTY AND BREATHABILITY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

An absorbent core with an efficient flow guide property and breathability, and method for manufacturing same. The absorbent core comprises a surface layer, a bottom layer, and an absorbent layer between the surface layer and the bottom layer; the absorbent layer comprises a non-woven fabric layer attached to the lower surface of the surface layer; a super absorbent polymer is uniformly scattered in the non-woven fabric layer; the surface layer and the non-woven fabric layer are attached to each other to form a composite layer; a flow guide groove is formed on the composite layer and divides the absorbent core into a plurality of absorbent regions; the composite layer with the flow guide groove is connected with the upper surface of the bottom layer; a super absorbent polymer is uniformly scattered between the bottom surface of the non-woven fabric layer and the upper surface of the bottom layer.
