The invention relates to a valve unit for a system for producing a parenteral nutrition, in which a three-way valve is used for respectively two connections to a source container. The valve unit is a component which is mounted on the system and can be removed again following use. The valve unit is in particular provided as a replaceable disposable component.

FLUID TRANSFER DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
20200297581 · 2020-09-24 ·

Fluid transfer systems are disclosed that can be configured to transfer precise amounts of fluid from a source container to a target container. The fluid transfer system can have multiple fluid transfer stations for transferring fluids into multiple target containers or for combining different types of fluids into a single target container to form a mixture. The fluid transfer system can include a pump and a destination sensor, such as a weight sensor. The fluid transfer system can be configured to flush remaining fluid out of a connector to reduce waste, using air or a flushing fluid.

FLUID TRANSFER DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE

Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to a device for transferring precise amounts of fluid from at least one source container to at least one target container. In some embodiments, the fluid is first transferred from the source container (e.g., a vial) through a connector to an intermediate measuring container (e.g., a syringe). In some embodiments air can pass through an air inlet and enter the vial to compensate for the volume of fluid withdrawn from the vial. An air check valve or a bag or a filter can prevent the fluid from escaping through the air inlet. The precisely measured amount of fluid can then be transferred from the intermediate measuring container to the target container (e.g., an IV bag). In some embodiments the connector can include a source check valve and a target check valve to direct fluid first from the source container to the intermediate measuring container and then from the intermediate measuring container to the target container. Some embodiments of the device can include a motor and a controller for automatically actuating a plunger of the syringe to transfer the desired amount of fluid.

SCALES AND INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A MEDICAL PREPARATION

The invention relates to a set of scales and to an installation for producing a medical composition using a set of scales. The set of scales comprise interchangeable securing means for a target container, the weight thereof being measured by the set of scales.

INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A MEDICAL PREPARATION

The invention relates to an installation for producing a medical preparation, in particular for producing a preparation for parenteral nutrition. Liquids are transferred by means of the installation from a plurality of source containers to a target container. The installation comprises a receptacle with drivers for a valve block, wherein the drivers of the valves are arranged offset from one another.

Liquid medicine filling device and liquid medicine filling method

A liquid medicine filling device includes a container mounting unit, a liquid delivery flow conduit, a ventilation flow conduit, a syringe, a connection flow conduit, a first flow path switching unit, and a second flow path switching unit. The first flow path switching unit may switch between a flow path for filling through which the syringe communicates with a liquid medicine container via the ventilation flow conduit and a flow path for air removal through which the syringe communicates with the connection flow conduit via the ventilation flow conduit. The second flow path switching unit may switch between a flow path for filling through which the liquid medicine container communicates with the liquid medicine storage unit via the liquid delivery flow conduit and a flow path for air removal through which the liquid medicine storage unit communicates with the connection flow conduit via the liquid delivery flow conduit.

Hypodermic syringe with vial attachments
10716897 · 2020-07-21 ·

A medical syringe apparatus includes a syringe unit, a hypodermic needle attached to the syringe unit and at least one interfacing member for mating a labeled medication container to the syringe unit. A filling needle is attached to the syringe unit for drawing fluid from a container. A movable needle sheath protects the hypodermic needle when not in use and may be moved out of the way when administering an injection. The medication label is visible. The container remains mated to the syringe when the syringe is in use. Risk of mislabeling the syringe may therefore be substantially reduced or eliminated and patient safety may accordingly be improved.

MIXING DEVICE
20200214937 · 2020-07-09 ·

A mixing device for supplying media from containers, mixing media in containers and dispensing media or mixtures of the media into containers, including a connecting element and a shut-off unit. The connecting element has multiple container connections and a guide bore with a connecting duct extending from each container connection to the guide bore, leading to a wall of the guide bore. The shut-off unit is mounted in the guide bore of the connecting element so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis and displaceable along its longitudinal axis. In the shut-off unit, a distribution duct is formed, which can be brought into alignment with different connecting ducts, depending on a position of the shut-off unit, wherein different connecting ducts can be brought into mutual media communication by rotating and/or axially displacing the shut-off unit in a switchable manner.

COLLAPSIBLE CENTRIFUGATION VIAL SYSTEM AND METHOD
20200215533 · 2020-07-09 ·

A vial and system are configured to simplify fluid input and extraction therefrom. The vial has a first end opposite a second end and with a collapsible sidewall. The sidewall can be collapsed, such as by imparting a differential pressure between an interior and exterior of the vial, for simplified fluid extraction and smooth extraction without disturbing boundaries between separated components. The vial typically has a bulb at a first end and a neck extending away from the bulb and toward the second end. An inlet spaced from the first end can be configured to attach to various different interfaces or processing elements for input and output of fluids. A support cup can be provided for use with the vial during centrifugation to allow the vial to withstand any centrifugation forces. Various fluid processing methodologies are supported by the collapsible vial, especially including methods of separation of components of blood.

POOLING DEVICE FOR SINGLE OR MULTIPLE MEDICAL CONTAINERS

A device is provided for pooling a fluid from a container unit having at least one container, and includes an inlet port having at least one inlet channel configured for receiving the fluid or ambient air, and an outlet port having at least one outlet channel configured for delivering the fluid to an attachment. Both inlet and outlet ports are disposed on the device. A cavity is provided for accommodating insertion of the container unit for pooling the fluid from the at least one container. At least one spike is disposed in the cavity and configured for puncturing a stopper of the at least one container when the container unit transitions from an upper position to a lower position.
