Systems, kits, and methods for treating hair with compositions containing ionic polymers
The present disclosure relates to hair care systems comprising: (1) a booster composition containing at least one ionic polymer functionalized with at least one carboxylic acid moiety; optionally, at least one compound selected from an alkoxysilane, a nonionic latex polymer, or mixtures thereof; a thickening agent; and a cosmetically acceptable carrier; and (2) a hair treatment composition containing at least one surfactant selected from an anionic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, a cationic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, or mixtures thereof. The hair care systems of the present disclosure can be used to clean and/or condition hair, as well impart frizz control and manageability benefits to hair.
WATER-IN-OIL EMULSIONS INCLUDING SURFACTANT, WATER-SOLUBLE VINYL POLYMER AND ORGANOSILOXANE
A water-in-oil emulsion composition comprising (a) water, (b) at least one oil, (c) at least one surfactant, (d) at least one water-soluble vinyl polymer, and (e) at least one organosiloxane film-former that is selected from a silicone resin and a random acrylic/silicone graft copolymer is provided. The composition may be a composition for eyelashes, for example a mascara composition further including at least one colorant.
METHOD OF PREPARING FUNCTIONALIZED PARTICLES
Particles are prepared in an emulsion using a method that includes providing a first reactant having at least two unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties and a second reactant having at least two Si—H moieties, so long as at least one of the unsaturated carbon-carbon moieties of the first reactant or the Si—H moieties of the second reactant is pendant. The method also includes providing a third reactant having a silicon atom and a condensable reactive group bonded to the silicon atom and also having an unsaturated carbon-carbon moiety and/or a Si—H moiety, providing a hydrosilylation catalyst, and providing a polar liquid. The method further includes combining the first, second, and third reactants to form particles that have a cross-linked network wherein the condensable reactive group is disposed on the particles, and adding a silane having an organic moiety and a condensation leaving group to form the particles.
LONG-WEAR COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING ACID-FUNCTIONAL SILICONE ELASTOMER AND BLOCK COPOLYMER
Compositions including at least one acid-functional silicone elastomer and at least one block copolymer, as well as methods of making such compositions and methods of applying such compositions to keratinous material are provided.
