A method for manufacturing a brushing part, the brushing part being configured in a U-shape in order to be placed on the dentition of a jaw of a user, the brushing part forming a channel inside which is designed to receive all or a portion of said dentition, the brushing part comprising at least one tuft of brushing bristles projecting into the interior of said channel by a free end of the bristles of the at least one tuft, the method comprising the following steps: forming the at least one tuft of bristles by assembling a plurality of bristles by an end opposite the free end, so as to form a base of the at least one tuft; fusing the ends forming the base of the at least one tuft so as to form a fused area in one piece, such that an extension of the fused area in a direction that is transverse to an extension direction of the at least one tuft is greater at one extension of the base in the transverse direction prior to the fusing step; placing the at least one tuft on a mold for overmolding the channel of the brushing part; overmolding the channel and the at least one tuft.

Method for producing a toothbrush head or a part thereof

A method for producing a toothbrush head comprises providing at least two bristle tufts that differ in at least one property; arranging the tufts in a hole-perforation plate comprising holes shaped and distributed according to the desired bristle field; arranging an energy source so that the ends of the bristle tufts and the energy source are arranged contactless, wherein the ends of the bristle tufts to be fused are arranged at different distances to the energy source and are adjusted according to the different property; applying energy to the ends of the bristle tufts until fuse balls are formed; transferring the bristle tufts to a subsequent process position, wherein the distance of the fuse ball of at least one bristle tuft to the hole-perforation plate is different from the distance of said fuse ball to the hole-perforation plate in the fusing position before; over-molding of the fuse balls of the bristle tufts with plastic material thereby forming the brush head or the part (10) thereof.

Oral care implement

An oral care implement used for treatment of a user's oral cavity. The oral care implement may include a body having a longitudinal axis, a first hard plastic component, and a second hard plastic component. The first hard plastic component may have a front surface having a perimeter portion and a central portion that is surrounded by the perimeter portion, the central portion being recessed relative to the perimeter portion. The second hard plastic component may be positioned on the central portion of the first hard plastic component and surrounded by the perimeter portion of the first hard plastic component. The second hard plastic component may have an outer surface with a plurality of grooves that are elongated in a direction of the longitudinal axis.

Brush head assembly and methods of manufacture

A brush head (32) including: a supporting portion (42) of a brush neck (40); a plurality of bristle tufts (21), each of which comprises a plurality of bristle strands having a proximal end (23) and a free end (25), wherein each of the plurality of bristle tufts comprises a proximal end head portion (26) melted into a first shape within a mold; and an elastomeric matrix (30) comprising at least a portion of the hard brush neck and the proximal end head portions, wherein the first shape of the proximal end head portion is configured to engage the elastomeric matrix such that the bristle tufts are retained within the elastomeric matrix.

Brush head manufacturing methods

A method (200) for manufacturing a brush head (100). The method includes the steps of providing a plurality of polypropylene bristle tuft retention rings (50), and inserting a respective nylon bristle tuft (21) into each of the bristle tuft retention rings. Heat is applied to each bristle tuft proximal end (23) at a temperature sufficient to at least partially melt the bristle tuft proximal end and create a proximal head portion (26). The platen (42) of the brush head is positioned in relation to the retaining rings (50) and proximal head portions (26) to define a space (92) in relation to the proximal head portions for injection of a thermoplastic elastomer, and the thermoplastic elastomer is injected into the space to create an elastomeric matrix (30) that at least partially encompasses the neck and the proximal head portions.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING INTER-DENTAL CLEANING TOOL

In order to prevent shaft portion from being broken in ejection of base portion from mold, method for manufacturing interdental cleaning tool includes: base portion forming step of forming base portion by filling first space of primary mold (50) with synthetic resin, which includes first and second mold members (50A, 50B); and cleaning portion forming step of forming cleaning portion around shaft portion by filling second space of secondary mold with elastomer.
