Systems and methods for long term transdermal administration
Devices, systems, compositions and methods for long term or prolonged transdermal administration of an active agent are provided.
Patch
In a patch comprising a support layer and an adhesive agent layer, the adhesive agent layer comprises free asenapine, a maleic acid alkali salt, and a rubber-based adhesive agent.
NOVEL COMPOSITIONS OF MATTER AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS
Pharmaceutical formulations of novel indole compounds and psilocybin analogs are manufactured, provided in novel oral, transdermal, and nasal pharmaceutical compositions for use to treat neurological, mood or abuse diseases and disorders.
Transdermal delivery formulation
The invention provides compositions and methods for delivering vitamin D to a human subject. In one embodiment the invention provides a transdermal patch for the transdermal administration of vitamin D comprising: (a) a backing layer that serves as the outer surface of the patch during use; (b) an adhesive drug reservoir layer for affixing the patch to human skin; and (c) a release liner, which upon removal exposes the adhesive drug reservoir layer. The adhesive drug reservoir layer can include vitamin D, a polymeric adhesive, an organic solvent, and a permeation enhancer.
Composition comprising amino acid polymers and a bioactive agent and method of preparing thereof
A method of treating, reducing or preventing bacterial infection in a wound, the method comprising: applying a film on the wound, the film including a biodegradable polymer with bacteriophages dispersed therein, wherein the polymer is a poly (ester amide urea).
TRANSDERMAL THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM CONTAINING ASENAPINE AND POLYSILOXANE OR POLYISOBUTYLENE
The present invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for the transdermal administration of asenapine comprising a self-adhesive layer structure comprising a therapeutically effective amount of asenapine, said self-adhesive layer structure comprising: A) a backing layer; B) an asenapine-containing layer comprising: 1. asenapine in the form of the free base; and 2. a polymer selected from the group consisting of polysiloxanes and polyisobutylenes in an amount of more than 50% by weight based on the total weight of the asenapine-containing layer; and C) optionally an additional skin contact layer.
DEXTROMETHORPHAN TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY DEVICE
Provided herein are transdermal delivery devices comprising dextromethorphan. The transdermal delivery device can be characterized by the novel design, for example, with an adhesive layer and a reservoir layer, with an adhesive layer comprising a mixture of two adhesives, and/or with a skin permeation enhancer, e.g., in an amount that can significantly enhance the flux of dextromethorphan. The transdermal delivery device can also be characterized by its in vitro and/or in vivo release profile, for example, that can provide a desired pharmacokinetic profile described herein. Also provided herein are methods of administering dextromethorphan, and methods of treating a disease or disorder described herein, using the transdermal delivery device herein.
Method for Adjusting the Release of Active Agent in a Transdermal Delivery System
Use of an additive in a transdermal therapeutic system with an active agent-containing layer in the form of a biphasic layer having a hydrophilic inner phase and a hydrophobic outer phase, in which the inner phase comprises the additive and an active agent dissolved therein, the additive has a higher affinity to water than to the active agent, for the control of the permeation rate of the active agent in a manner which is independent from its concentration in the biphasic layer, with the maintenance of the permeation rate proportional to the amount of active agent in the biphasic layer.
Multi-day patch for the transdermal administration of rotigotine
The present invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system, comprising (a) a backing layer, (b) a solvent-based self-adhesive matrix layer containing rotigotine as active ingredient, and (c) a release liner, wherein the self-adhesive matrix layer has a coating weight of about 75-400 g/m.sup.2 and comprises a reservoir layer containing about 9-25 wt.-% rotigotine based on the weight of the reservoir layer, a kit comprising two transdermal therapeutic systems of the present invention as well as a method for the preparation of the transdermal therapeutic system of the present invention. In addition, the present invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system comprising rotigotine as active ingredient for use in the treatment of patients suffering from Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's plus syndrome, depression, fibromyalgia and the restless-legs syndrome and for use in the treatment or prevention of dopaminergic neuron loss or cognitive disorders by transdermal administration of rotigotine once or twice weekly, wherein the transdermal therapeutic system comprises a backing layer, a solvent-based rotigotine containing self-adhesive matrix layer as well as a release liner and is adapted to allow for the transdermal administration of therapeutically effective amounts of rotigotine for at least 3 days.
Transdermal UV-curable hydrogel resin, hydrogel curing the same and cataplasm containing the same
The present invention relates to a UV-curable hydrogel resin for transdermal administration, a hydrogel prepared using the UV-curable hydrogel resin, and a cataplasm prepared using the UV-curable hydrogel resin. More particularly, the present invention relates to a hydrogel resin with an optimal composition and composition ratio which allows increase in a water content of a hydrogel applied as a drug layer of a cataplasm, skin irritation mitigation, and crosslinking degree adjustment for adhesion control and is capable of controlling drug releasing property and transdermal absorbability, a hydrogel prepared by UV-hardening the hydrogel resin, and a cataplasm including the hydrogel.
