This disclosure provides compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, that inhibit Dual specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1A (DYRK1A). These chemical entities are useful, e.g., for treating a condition, disease or disorder in which increased (e.g., excessive) DYRK1A activation contributes to the pathology and/or symptoms and/or progression of the condition, disease or disorder (e.g., a neurological disorder) in a subject (e.g., a human). This disclosure also provides compositions containing the same as well as methods of using and making the same.

METHODS AND COMPOUNDS FOR PHOTOTHERAPY WITH CHALCOGENORHODAMINE PHOTOSENSITIZERS

A method of selectively depleting pathogenic T lymphocytes from a blood cell composition is carried out by (a) combining the cell composition ex vivo with an active compound in an effective amount, and then (b) irradiating the cells with light ex vivo for a time and at an intensity sufficient to selectively kill pathogenic T lymphocytes in said cell composition. Chalcogenorhodamine photosensitizers useful as such active compounds are also described.

NOVEL ROS1 INHIBITOR AND ITS USE
20170079972 · 2017-03-23 ·

The administration of a compound advantageously efficacious as ROS1 inhibitor and its effect on subjects with cancer includes administering a compound having certain structural components such as a quinoline moiety in the backbone and at least one tertiary amine containing moiety in a side chain as well as heteroatoms, in particular oxygen atoms, present in the backbone and the side chain for treating a subject suffering from a disease such as cancer. The presence of such structural components allows for an advantageous interaction with the ROS1 kinase domain, in particular with the hinge region. The administered compounds represent a highly promising opportunity in particular for patients bearing ROS1-dependent cancer. A method for targeting tumor cells harboring an abnormality in ROS1 gene includes contacting a cell with compounds of the present invention as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds.

Methods and compositions for preventing and/or treating viral infections are provided. The methods involve administering an agent that stabilizes or enhances Axin1 activity, e.g. and agent that inhibits tankyrase. Administration of the agent stimulates or increases interferon activity, thereby preventing or lessening at least one symptom of virus infection. The virus infection may be caused by a respiratory virus such as influenza vims.
