Volume monitoring device utilizing light-based systems
An apparatus includes a syringe housing and a plunger slidably received within the syringe housing between a first position and a second position. The plunger has a substantially opaque portion and a substantially translucent portion. A light sensor module is disposed on the syringe housing. The light sensor module has a light sensor housing and a first sensor element and a second sensor element. The first sensor element and the second sensor element are disposed within the sensor housing. Positioning the plunger at the first position aligns the substantially translucent portion with the first sensor element and positioning the plunger at the second position aligns the substantially translucent portion with the second sensor element.
Assembly for a drug delivery device and method of operating the same
An assembly for a drug delivery device (200) is presented which comprises a housing (24) having a proximal end (25) and a distal end (26), a cartridge, a plunger (19) which is movably retained in the cartridge (14) and a piston rod (6). The assembly further comprises a rod displacement feature (33). The assembly is configured such that, in an initial state of the assembly, the piston rod (6) and the rod displacement feature (33) are arranged such that movement of the rod displacement feature (33) from the first position to the second position is transferred to the piston rod (6) such that the piston rod (6) is moved with respect to the cartridge (14) and the assembly is switched from the initial state to a primed state. In the primed state, movement of the rod displacement feature (33) from the first position to the second position is not transferred to the piston rod (6).
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE AND DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE FORMED BY THE METHOD
The present invention relates to a method of assembling a drug delivery device which in the assembled state defines a distal housing component (102) that houses a piston equipped cartridge (189), and a proximal housing component (101) that houses a dose setting and expelling mechanism. The method includes the steps of arranging the cartridge (189) in the distal housing component (102), arranging a nut element (140) threadedly engaged with a piston rod (107) in the distal housing component (102), and securing the nut element (140) relative to the distal housing component (102) into a selective one of a series of predetermined relative orientations for obtaining a predetermined axial clearance or abutment between the piston rod (107) and the piston of the cartridge (189). The invention further relates to a drug delivery device assembled according to the method.
SELF-ADMINISTERED INJECTION DEVICE AND METHOD
An injection device kit for the self-administration of an injection of solution that includes a body portion configured for engagement with a cartridge containing the solution and an injection needle where the body portion includes an injection component having an actuation mechanism for inserting the injection needle of the cartridge and for injecting the solution in the cartridge and a safety mechanism on the body portion and configured to prevent injection unless released.
Quantitative syringe-type ejector
A quantitative syringe-type ejector capable of ejecting the contents packed in one syringe in small quantities is provided. The quantitative syringe-type ejector includes a syringe and a plunger. The plunger includes a piston holding member and a plunger operation member. The piston holding member has at least one arm having: a slide projection slidable on an inner peripheral surface of the syringe; and a lock projection to be releasably locked to a back end of the syringe. The plunger operation member has a lock part to be releasably locked to the back end of the syringe.
Injection device without a gearing
A dose delivery device is disclosed wherein a dose can be set by rotating a dose setting member, whereby a push button (4) is elevated from one end of the device a distance proportional to the set dose from a position fixed relative to the housing, and wherein the set dose can then be injected by pressing the push button back to its non-elevated position, through which motion a piston rod will move approximately the same distance. The invention provides a method of forcing a numbered scale drum to rotate both during dose setting and injection to allow the user to read the remaining dose at any time during setting and injecting a dose.
Self-Administered Injection Device And Method
TRACK-INDEXED SYRINGE
A syringe including a barrel, a plunger moveably arranged within the barrel and a plunger rod for driving the plunger, and an engagement member arranged at the barrel to engage with a grooved surface on the plunger rod. This will create feedback given to a user as the plunger rod is moved relative to the barrel for driving the plunger within the barrel. The barrel and the engagement member are arranged relative to each other such that the engagement member, due to the engagement with the grooved surface of the plunger rod, will move solely in a direction generally perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the plunger rod as the plunger rod is moved relative to the barrel.
MAGNIFYING DEVICE FOR A MEDICAMENT INJECTION DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a magnifying device attachable to an injection device. The magnifying device includes a frame having a distal end and having a proximal end opposite to the distal end and further has a receptacle extending from the distal end towards the proximal end. The receptacle is accessible from the distal end to receive a proximal end section of the injection device therein. A magnifying lens is fixed to the proximal end of the frame and extending at least partially across the proximal end of the frame.
Dose divider syringe
A syringe includes a barrel having an internal surface defining an internal bore therein, and a plunger disposed within the internal bore of the barrel. A distal end of the plunger is inserted into a proximal end of the barrel. At least one radial projection is disposed on an external surface of the plunger, the at least one radial projection includes a proximal ramp and a distal ramp. The distal ramp includes a first point being a point of incipient contact with the internal surface of the barrel, and the at least one radial projection has a first slope relative to the longitudinal axis at the first point. The at least one radial projection has a second slope at a second point along the proximal ramp. An absolute value of the first slope is different from an absolute value of the second slope.
