WET INJECTION DETECTION AND PREVENTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
In an embodiment, a medicament delivery system is provided. The medicament delivery system includes a container for storing a medicament prior to use, the container having a first end and a second end, an injection member in fluid communication with the container, an actuation mechanism associated with the container and configured to deliver the medicament from the container through the injection member when the actuation mechanism is activated. The medicament delivery system further includes at least one detection element associated with the system, wherein in a first mode of operation of the system, medicament is delivered through the injection member and in a second mode of operation of the system, medicament is not delivered through the injection member, and the mode of operation is dependent on an output from the at least one detection element.
Syringe Pump Vibration Module to Reduce Stopper Friction
A syringe assembly includes a syringe and a vibrator configured to vibrate at at least one frequency to reduce stopper friction. The vibrator is attached to the syringe. The syringe assembly may further include an infusion pump configured to draw fluid from the syringe with a negative pressure.
Drug delivery device
The disclosure relates to a drug delivery device including a plunger disposed within a case and an audible indicator that comprises a resilient element. The plunger is slidable from a proximal position to a distal position within the case and the resilient element is in a first configuration when the plunger is in the proximal position, such that the resilient element is deflected radially outwards to a second configuration during movement of the plunger from the proximal position towards the distal position. The resilient element moves from the second configuration towards the first configuration when the plunger moves towards or reaches the distal position, thereby generating an audible and tactile signal.
DRIVE-CONTROL SYSTEM FOR AN INJECTION DEVICE
A drive-control system for an injection device for delivering settable doses of a pharmaceutical substance contained in a cartridge, including a tubular housing body having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end and a distal end connectable to the cartridge enclosure, a helical spring contained in the housing body and a piston rod moveable towards the distal end and blocked in translation towards the proximal end. The housing body includes a control sleeve on which the spring is mounted, which rotatable around the axis, and a setting sleeve translatable along the axis. Rotation of the control sleeve in a first direction combined with compression of the spring causes the setting sleeve to be translated towards the proximal end of the housing body, and extension of the spring causes the setting sleeve to be translated towards the distal end of the housing body and the control sleeve to be rotated in a second direction and the piston rod to be pushed towards the outside of the housing body.
AUTOMATIC INJECTOR WITH NEEDLE COVER
An auto-injector automatically dispenses a predetermined dose of medicament upon activation. The auto-injector includes a needle cover operative to engage an injection site and activate the injector. The needle cover is configured to move from a locked retracted position prior to a medicament dispensing operation to a locked extended position after the medicament dispensing operation. The non-removable needle cover prevents contact with the needle both before and after the medicament dispensing operation.
Syringe
A syringe including a barrel, a plunger moveably arranged within said barrel and a plunger rod for driving said plunger is provided. The syringe includes a first engagement member arranged at the plunger rod such that a longitudinal movement of the plunger rod yields a rotational movement of said first engagement member, said first engagement member including a grooved surface, and a second engagement member arranged at the barrel to engage with said grooved surface of the first engagement member such that feedback is given to a user as the plunger rod is moved relative to the barrel for driving said plunger. Wherein, for a given distance D travelled by the plunger rod relative to the barrel, a point of the grooved surface of the first engagement member moves a distance d, wherein dD.
Drive assembly for a drug delivery device and drug delivery device comprising a drive assembly
A drive assembly for a drug delivery device includes a spring member, a piston rod and a piston rod nut being engaged with the piston rod. The piston rod nut is configured to rotate and axially move during dose setting. The spring member is compressed when the piston rod nut is moved during the dose setting. The piston rod nut is rotationally fixed during dose dispensing.
Three-position plungers, film coated plungers and related syringe assemblies
A three-position plunger is provided including a sleeve having an opening at a distal end, a pre-load cavity proximal to and in communication with the opening, a first cavity proximal to and in communication with the pre-load cavity, a second cavity proximal to and in communication with the pre-load cavity, and at least one rib. The rib(s) is generally aligned with the first cavity. The plunger further includes an insert configured to be displaced from the pre-load cavity to the first cavity and from the first cavity to the second cavity. The insert is configured to provide support for the compression of the rib(s) when the insert is positioned in the first cavity.
Moving Basal Engine For A Fluid Delivery Device
A fluid delivery device comprises a fluid reservoir for containing medicament. The fluid reservoir is sealed proximate one end with a sliding seal piston. A delivery path is configured to fluidly couple the fluid reservoir and a patient wearing the fluid delivery device. A basal engine mechanism is configured to directly or indirectly move the sliding seal piston in the fluid reservoir at a controlled basal rate. A bolus mechanism configured to move the basal engine relative to the fluid reservoir and directly or indirectly move the sliding seal piston in the fluid reservoir a discrete bolus amount at a time.
Drug Delivery Device with Electro-Mechanic Drive Mechanism
The present invention relates to a drug delivery device for setting and dispensing of a dose of a medicament is presented comprising a housing to accommodate a cartridge filled with the medicament, an electrically operated drive mechanism to be operably engaged with the cartridge to expel a predefined dose of the medicament from the cartridge, and at least one dose element displaceably arranged relative to the housing to set and/or to dispense the dose of the medicament, wherein the dose element and the drive mechanism are mechanically decoupled from each other.
