Protective device for the needle tube of a syringe
A protective device for the needle tube of a syringe, including a housing which can be pivoted on a support base which has an open housing side in the pivot plane, so that the needle tube can be pivoted into the housing after being used for injection and wherein on the housing side, a retaining device is provided for the needle tube which has been pivoted inwards. The invention proposes that in addition to the connection of a film hinge in order to form a pivot axis, the support base and the pivotable housing are additionally connected together via a predetermined breaking point and wherein after being used for injection, the housing can be pivoted back over the destroyed predetermined breaking point.
Single use delivery device
The invention is a single use delivery device configured to enable reconstitution of a lyophilized agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) stored within for subsequent delivery of the reconstituted fluid agent to a patient in a controlled manner and without requiring specialized skill in reconstituting the agent or administering delivery of such agent. The delivery device is prefilled with an individual dose of a lyophilized agent and configured to be filled on-site and in the field with a dose of diluent for reconstitution of the lyophilized agent, while remaining sterile and preventing the potential for contamination during the filling process. The delivery device is further configured to be rendered incapable of reuse followings its intended use of delivering the fluid agent to a patient, thereby preventing reuse of the device and reducing the risk of the spreading blood-borne diseases through reuse.
Safety device for preventing needle stick injury with a needle of a medical device and medical device
A safety device for preventing needlestick injury with a needle, including a protective cap and a shield capable of pivoting from a storage position where it is interlocked with the protective cap, a retracted position where it gives access to the needle and a safety position where it covers the needle, wherein a cam surface of the shield and an engaging peg of the protective cap are arranged so that, when the safety device is mounted around the tip of a medical device, removing the protective cap from the tip by a distal movement displaces the shield from the storage position to the retracted position. A medical device including a tip provided with a needle including a needle point, wherein the medical device further includes a safety device.
THERMOFORMED MEDICAL SYRINGE
A single use syringe is disclosed that can be manufactured with minimal time and expense. The barrel is, in one example, compressive thermoformed by extruded tubing and with a resilient wall. The plunger can also be thermoformed. A fluid seal can be established between the resilient barrel sidewall and a rigid plunger sealing ring. The open, proximal end of the barrel is thermally flanged to maintain the barrel's configuration and provide a flange for gripping. The syringe can have non-circular cross sectional shapes, multiple lumens and multiple indentations to provide for a wide range of specific uses.
Flex tec closure assembly for a medical dispenser
A closure assembly for a medical dispenser including a cover and a tip cap removably disposed therein. A flexible retaining member including a plurality of flexible fingers is/are angularly positioned within the cover in both a retaining relation and a blocking position, which respectively restrict removal of the tip cap from the cover and a reinsertion of the tip cap, back into the cover, subsequent to its removal. Structurally distinguishable but similarly operable embodiments include the plurality of flexible fingers connected to and extending angularly outward from an interior of the cover or connected to an exterior of the tip cap.
NEEDLE GUARD WITH DUAL HINGE FUNCTIONALITY
A needle guard for protecting a human or animal from accidental contact with a needle connected to said needle guard is disclosed. The needle guard comprises a mounting base for the needle, a hinge structure connecting the mounting base to a needle shield, and a needle shield hinge adjacent to the hinge structure and needle shield. The hinge structure is adapted to pivot the needle shield relative to the mounting base from an open position in which the needle shield is separated from the needle to a closed position in which the needle shield encloses the needle. The needle shield hinge is adapted to pivot the needle shield relative to the hinge structure. A method of manufacturing the needle guard is also disclosed.
Safety Device for Preventing Needle Stick Injury with a Needle of a Medical Injection Device
A safety device includes a ring configured to be attached to a distal tip of a medical injection device and a protective shield movably coupled to the ring and configured to adopt a storage position covering the needle tip, an operative position uncovering the needle tip, and a safety position covering the needle tip A protective cap is mounted on the ring to cover the needle tip, and can be separated from the ring prior to use of the device. A retaining system includes a first retaining portion on the protective shield and a second retaining portion on the protective cap, with the first and second retaining portions cooperating in the storage position to prevent the protective shield from moving to its operative position. A releasing system releases the retaining system and is configured to be activated by a manual inward pressure exerted on the protective cap.
AUTO INJECTOR WITH CASSETTE
The invention also relates to an improved auto injector adapted for receiving a cassette with medicament and for administering the medicament in the cassette to a patient, the auto injector extending from a proximal end to a distal end along a longitudinal axis, wherein the cassette is removable received in the auto injector along the longitudinal direction.
LOW DEADSPACE SYRINGE INCLUDING A PIVOTING NEEDLE GUARD
A low deadspace syringe having a pivoting protective needle guard on a fixed needle assembly that is permanently attached to the syringe.
Safety assembly
The invention relates to a safety assembly for preventing needle stick injury with a needle having a proximal end fixed to a tip of a medical container and a pointed distal end, the safety assembly having: an attachment ring fixed to the tip of the container and a safety device to cover at least the distal end of the needle, the safety device attached to the attachment ring. The safety assembly has an attachment ring having an inner ring and an outer ring to be snapped onto each other, the inner ring having an inner recess for applying glue between the inner ring and the tip, and the inner ring and outer ring having mutually engaging elements preventing any rotation of the outer ring relative to the inner ring.
