The device embodied in the present invention utilizes the lateral rotation produced by a motor, which may be an internal combustion engine or an electrical motor. The lateral rotation is outputted directed unto the main crankshaft of an engine. A main pulley is mounted onto said main shaft and rotates with the same revolution rate as the motor, or at a reduced revolution rate, depending on the diameter of the main pulley and whether additional steps and hears are utilized to reduce or step down the rotary forces.
CUTTER RETENTION ASSEMBLY
A cutter retention assembly includes a mowing deck coupled to a mower. A spindle, rotated by the mower, extends from the mower downwardly relative to a top wall of the mowing deck. A spindle housing extends from the mowing deck around the spindle with a coupling portion of the spindle extending from the spindle housing. A lip extends radially outward from the spindle outside of the spindle housing. A retainer is coupled to the spindle housing around the spindle defining a collar. The collar is positioned adjacent to and aligns with the lip such that the lip will be retained within the mowing deck by the collar upon catastrophic failure of the spindle. A cutter is coupled to the spindle, exposed in the mowing deck, and rotates with the spindle. The cutter is thus retained adjacent to the mowing deck upon the catastrophic failure of the spindle.
WALK POWER MOWER WITH TRANSMISSION PROVIDING BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE PROPULSION
A walk power mower having a cutting deck supported upon the ground by a front and rear wheel(s). The mower includes a traction drive system incorporating a bidirectional transmission adapted to propel the mower alternatively in both forward and reverse directions. In some embodiments, the mower may include a single bidirectional transmission (e.g., powering only rear wheel(s) or only front wheel(s) of the mower), while in other embodiments, two bidirectional transmissions may be provided to power both the front and the rear wheel(s). In other embodiments, the mower may include a bidirectional transmission powering the rear wheel(s), while the front wheel(s) may be attached to the deck via a caster assembly.

A transmission housing (2) of the type including two housing elements (9) that can be positioned to press against each other and that in the assembled-together state define: a cavity (13); a shaft (6) projecting at least in part from the housing (2); a motion transmission mechanism (30) for transmitting motion to said shaft (6), the motion transmission mechanism (30) being housed at least in part inside the cavity (13) of the housing (2); and sealing means (15) arranged in the zone where the housing elements (9) are pressed together and referred to as a join plane (10), the sealing means (15) surrounding said cavity (13).
The housing (2) comprises means (17) for connecting the housing elements (9) together by snap-fastening in order to hold the housing elements (9) pressed against each other and the sealing means (15) comprise adhesive connection means (16) for connecting said housing elements (9) together.

A lawn mower (10) may include a blade housing (20), an engine (30), a mobility assembly (310); and a drive system (300). The engine (30) may be operably coupled to the blade housing (20) and configured to selectively rotate a drive shaft (130). The mobility assembly (310) may include a first set of wheels (40, 42) and be selectively operably coupled to the engine (30) to provide mobility of the lawn mower responsive at least in part to operation of the engine (30). The drive system (300) may include a first transmission (110, 120), a flexible driving member (100), a disengagement assembly (116), and a remote actuator. The a disengagement assembly (116) may include a latching lever (125), where the latching lever (125) is configured to switch the first transmission (110, 120) between a disengaged mode and an engaged mode, and where the latching lever (125) is configured to move between a disengaged position corresponding to the disengaged mode and an engaged position corresponding to the engaged mode. The remote actuator may be operably coupled to the flexible driving member (100), where responsive to actuation of the remote actuator, the flexible driving member (100) engages a) the latching lever (125) to move the latching lever (125) to the engaged position to thereby place the first transmission (110, 120) in the engaged mode; and b) the first transmission (110, 120) to provide drive power from the drive shaft (130) to the first set of wheels (40, 42).
