Connector assemblies, systems, and methods thereof. A connector has a first end that clamps to a first rod in an existing construct and a second end, connected to the first end, that clamps to a second rod in a new construct such that the new construct can be extended from the existing construct at an adjacent level as the existing construct.

System and method for cervical midline fixation

Devices and methods for enhancing the effectiveness of spinal stabilization, and particularly that of cervical spinal stabilization, are provided herein. More specifically, methods and systems are disclosed for effectively positioning occipital plates and spinal fixation assemblies within target vertebrae, while also reducing any associated patient trauma (e.g., muscle stripping, tissue damage, etc.). The systems and methods can utilize trans-lamina delivery of the spinal fixation assemblies to allow for the positioning of the fixation elements along the midline of the patient's spine.

PIVOTAL BONE ANCHOR ASSEMBLY WITH BOTTOM LOADED CANNULATED SCREW HAVING A PLANAR TOP SURFACE

A polyaxial bone screw assembly includes a threaded shank body having an upper portion, a receiver, a compression insert and an articulation structure made from at least two discrete pieces. The shank upper portion cooperates with the compression insert to place the retainer in frictional engagement with the receiver. The geometry of the retainer structure pieces corresponds and cooperates with the external geometry of the shank upper portion to frictionally envelope the retainer structure between the capture structure and an internal surface defining a cavity of the receiver.

Occipital Plate With Angled Screw Opening

A surgical implant includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes a body and connector assemblies. The body includes a posterior surface and defines a first bore defining an acute angle with respect to a first axis that is orthogonal to the posterior surface. The connector assemblies are disposed on opposing lateral sides of the body. Each connector assembly is selectively rotatable relative to the body. The second portion includes a base extending in a cephalad direction from the first portion, and an extension extending in the cephalad direction from the base. The base defines second bores configured to receive respective bone screws. The extension defines a third bore. The first bore of the body and the third bore of the extension define a second axis. The second bores are defined along a third axis orthogonal to the second axis.

A dynamic fixation medical implant having at least two bone anchors includes a longitudinal connecting member assembly having at least one transition portion and cooperating outer sleeve, both the transition portion and sleeve being disposed between the two bone anchors. In a first embodiment, the transition portion includes a rigid length or rod having apertures therein for tying or otherwise attaching the rigid length to a second rigid length or to a flexible cord. Slender ties or cords extend through a plurality of apertures in the rigid lengths or are threaded, tied or plaited to the larger flexible cord or cable. In a second embodiment, a transition portion includes slender ties of a cord that are imbedded in a molded plastic of a more rigid member. The outer sleeve may include compression grooves. The sleeve surrounds the transition portion and extends between the pair of bone anchors, the sleeve being compressible in a longitudinal direction between the bone anchors.
