Smart and autonomous growing rod for treating spinal deformities
11723692 · 2023-08-15 · ·

An implantable growing rod assembly adapted to be secured along a length of a spine for treating deformities of the spine. The assembly includes a housing, a fixed rod extending along a longitudinal axis away from the housing, and an expansion rod extendible from the housing along the longitudinal axis. A driver assembly is fixed to the housing and adapted to translate the expansion rod along the longitudinal axis. Examples of the implantable growing rod assembly include a smart growing system, and an autonomous growing rod system.

Device and method to establish stabilization of the cervical spine without implantation of hardware or violation of the cortical bone
11712271 · 2023-08-01 ·

A system of devices and methods for use by which one or more target motion segments of the cervical spine are stabilized without any violation of the cortical bone of the target vertebrae. The devices are brought against strategic aspects of these vertebrae, thus permitting the disclosed inventions to achieve secure control of each vertebra. Connecting elements then stabilize the constructs. Preferred and alternative embodiments of the invention are disclosed, along with methods of implantation, and adjunct devices used in the implantation of the disclosed invention.

Technologies for lines coupled to spines
11712272 · 2023-08-01 ·

This disclosure discloses a line coupled to a spine of a user at two points such that the line can be movable relative to those two points. The line can be encased by a protective member between those two points. The line can be covered by a compound between those two points. The line can be guided between those two points.

BIASING DEVICE FOR SPINAL DEVICE
20230380868 · 2023-11-30 · ·

A spinal device includes a rod which has a first end disposed in a housing and a second end which protrudes out of the housing through an aperture and which is movable to protrude more out of the housing or less out of the housing. A biasing device, mounted on the rod, includes a series of connected at-least partial coils. A first end of the biasing device is arranged to abut against the housing and a second end of the biasing device, opposite to the first end, is affixed to the rod.

Method for improved spinal correction surgery implementing non-fusion anterior scoliosis correction techniques with vertebrae de-rotation

Spinal correction surgical techniques and methodologies for correction of scoliosis using non fusion anterior scoliosis correction, including soft tissue releases, unique correction techniques such as de-rotation, and unique single and dual anchor screw/cord applications.

Spinal Fixation Assembly

Disclosed herein are a spinal fixation assembly and method to provide adequate rigidity and support for a vertebral column without requiring additional pedicle screws and spinal rods. The spinal fixation assembly includes a spinal rod loop with multiple sides configured to be attached to a vertebral body with two or more pedicle screws. Each pedicle screw is adapted to fit at various locations along the spinal rod loop.

Systems and methods for distraction

A system for moving a portion of a patient's body including a housing having a first cavity extending along a longitudinal axis, a first distraction rod having a proximal end and a distal end, the first distraction rod and the housing being telescopically displaceable with respect to each other along the longitudinal axis, the first distraction rod having a cavity extending along the longitudinal axis, a second distraction rod having a proximal end and a distal end and configured to be telescopically displaceable from within the second cavity along the longitudinal axis, and a drive system configured to move the first distraction rod in relation to the housing and to move the second distraction rod in relation to the first distraction rod.

Device for correcting bone fractures

The invention relates to a device for correcting a bone fracture using bone anchors, in particular bone screws, and extension devices attachable to the bone anchors.

Ratcheted spinal devices
RE049138 · 2022-07-19 · ·

A spinal device including a variable-length member including a ratchet mechanism that has an operative configuration that allows a change in length of the variable-length member in one direction and prevents a change in length of the variable-length member in an opposite direction, wherein the variable-length member includes polyaxial-joint attachment members for attachment to bone, which permit pivoting movement of the attachment members about more than one pivoting axis, characterized by a force applicator operative to adjust or advance the ratchet mechanism.

Communication device and methods

An implantable device for sensing data includes a subcutaneous sensor configured to couple with an implant. The implantable device is operably configured to wirelessly and transcutaneously transmit data sensed by the subcutaneous sensor. The sensor may be powered wirelessly and transcutaneously. Transmission of data and/or power may be provided by ultrasound sound waves. The sensor may be in electrical communication with a piezoelectric transducer configured to receive the ultrasound sound waves.
