DEVICE FOR IMPLANTING A SURGICAL SCREW
A device may include an outer sleeve with a hollow interior, and an inner sleeve with a hollow interior to couple axially and slidingly. The outer sleeve may include an outer central body, an outer proximal end part and an outer distal end part integrally connected to one another, and an outer channel extending along the entire outer proximal end part and along a substantial portion of the outer central body. The inner sleeve may include an inner central body, an inner proximal end part and an inner distal end part integrally connected to one another, and an inner channel extending along the entire inner proximal end part and along a substantial part of the inner central body. The inner sleeve may include, in the inner proximal end of the inner sleeve, a lateral engagement element, and an axial engagement element for releasably engaging a surgical screw.
Bone screw threaded enlarger
A bone fastener system can comprise a fastener and a first sizing component. The fastener can comprise a shaft that provides an anchoring footprint. The first sizing component can be configured to be connected to the shaft and can include a first anchoring feature, or circumferential bone engaging feature, to increase a size of the anchoring footprint. The first anchoring feature can comprise a sleeve that radially expands a diameter of the threaded shaft. The first anchoring feature can comprise axially extending teeth. The system can further comprise a second sizing component including a second anchoring feature to increase the size of the anchoring footprint, the second anchoring feature being different from the first anchoring feature. The second anchoring feature can expand the diameter of the threaded shaft a greater amount than the first anchoring feature. The second anchoring feature can have a length greater than the first anchoring feature.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING AND MONITORING SPINAL IMPLANTS
Spinal device/implants are provided, comprising a spinal device/implant and a sensor.
Polyaxial Screwdriver For a Pedicle Screw System
A polyaxial screwdriver for inserting a bone screw in a vertebra. A polyaxial bone screw assembly includes a coupling element. When a screw engaging end of the polyaxial screwdriver is lowered on the head of the bone screw, the complimentary surfaces of the screw engaging end of the screwdriver and the head of the screw self-align. A ratchet mechanism formed in the screwdriver provides progressive and automatic locking of the polyaxial screwdriver to the coupling element and prevents the accidental unthreading from the coupling element. In another embodiment of the polyaxial screwdriver, a collet slides over the outside surface of the upper end of the coupling element and locks on to the coupling element. In yet another embodiment of a polyaxial screwdriver, the outer sleeve of the polyaxial screwdriver has a split end that securely engages the coupling element.
ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT PEDICLE SCREW
Described herein is a pedicle screw for use in the thoracolumbar spine where the height can be adjusted intra-operatively before or after installation member of the longitudinal member. The pedicle screws with adjustable height may be made with a monoaxial or polyaxial configuration. The height of the pedicle screw can be lengthened or shortened.
Modular Head Assembly
A spinal fixation device includes a modular head assembly and a bone screw having a head and a shank. The modular head assembly includes a housing defining proximal and distal surfaces and a throughhole therethrough; an anvil slidable within the throughhole; a biasing member circumferentially surrounding the anvil; an assembly cap secured to the housing and defining an inner surface having a first portion with a first diameter and a second portion with a second diameter smaller than the first diameter; a retaining ring movable from the first portion of the assembly cap to the second portion of the assembly cap to transition the retaining ring between a first configuration in which the retaining ring is sized to receive the head of the bone screw and a second configuration in which the retaining ring is compressed about the bone screw to fix the bone screw relative to the modular head assembly.
ROD COUPLING ASSEMBLIES FOR BONE STABILIZATION CONSTRUCTS
Bone implants and stabilizing rod coupling assemblies to secure a stabilizing rod relative to the bone implant. Bone implants may include a radially recessed collet receiving region that includes a proximal end with an undercut ledge configuration that is sized and configured to interface with and couple to a collet of a tulip assembly.
BONE ANCHORING DEVICE
A bone anchoring device for anchoring a rod to a bone or vertebra includes a receiving part with two legs defining a channel for the rod and a variable configuration member with a first rod contact surface configured to extend axially above a bottom of the channel to contact the rod. When a rod is inserted in the channel, the variable configuration member is adjustable from a first configuration where the first rod contact surface is at a first axial position relative to the receiving part and blocks the rod from contacting a second rod contact surface below the first rod contact surface, and a second configuration where the first rod contact surface is at a second axial position below the first axial position relative to the receiving part to permit the rod to contact the second rod contact surface.
DUAL LOCKING POLYAXIAL SCREW HEAD
Systems, methods, and devices for securing a spinal rod are provided. A clamp assembly may include a tulip comprising a first opening and a second opening, wherein an inner surface of the first opening comprises threads; a saddle movably disposed within the tulip between the first and second openings, the saddle comprising a first end and a second end, the first end comprising a portion configured to receive a spinal rod, the second end comprising a cavity configured to receive a pedicle screw, the saddle comprising slots configured to receive a rotating tool; and a threaded locking cap disposed in the first opening.
Threaded closure for bone anchor receivers with parallel planar outer surfaces and methods of use
A method for securing an elongate rod to a bone anchor with a receiver and a threaded plug. The receiver includes a channel configured to receive the elongate rod, and a helically wound receiver guide and advancement structure formed into the interior surfaces of the receiver. The threaded plug is configured for positioning within the channel to secure the elongate rod to the receiver in a locked configuration, with the threaded plug having an outer surface with a mating continuous helically wound guide and advancement structure configured for rotatable engagement with the receiver guide and advancement structure.
