System and methods for rod insertion using a screw tower
A screw tower that is a single-use instrument that attaches to existing screws but remains open along a rod slot to allow for screws to intermesh and prevent interference of adjacent screws during screw and rod insertion. The screw tower interfaces with existing features of the screws to facilitate screw insertion, rod insertion, rod reduction, and locking cap insertion in a percutaneous approach. The tower is broken in half and removed from patient to end with a completed construct.
Polyaxial bone anchoring device and system including an instrument and a polyaxial bone anchoring device
A bone anchoring device includes a receiving part with a recess for receiving a rod and a flexible head receiving portion for pivotably holding a head of a bone anchoring element, a pressure member configured to exert pressure on the head when the head is held in the head receiving portion, and a clamping ring positionable around the head receiving portion and movable from a first position where the head is pivotable relative to the receiving part, to a second position where the clamping ring exerts a radial force on the head receiving portion to lock the head relative to the receiving part. When the clamping ring is at the first position, the clamping ring abuts the receiving part to restrict upward movement, while a surface of the clamping ring that faces upwards is exposed for engaging an instrument to move the clamping ring to the second position.
SURGICAL DEVICE
A surgical device includes a polyaxial surgical screw that includes an internally hollow tulip. The tulip includes two elongated rods which are parallel and mutually spaced apart, each elongated rod protruding from a side wall of the tulip and extending away from a first end of the tulip in a direction opposite to a second end of the tulip. The rods define a channel in communication with the first end for accessing the interior of the tulip. A locking unit can be reversibly mounted on the polyaxial surgical screw. The locking unit includes a tubular body which has an inner cavity and is adapted to be fitted about the elongated rods during a configuration of use of the surgical device. The tubular body has two mutually opposite protrusions which project into the inner cavity that are configured to face the channel and be mutually interposed.
Screw Tower and Rod Reduction Tool
A system includes a screw tower, an instrument, and a housing. The instrument includes a driver shaft extendable longitudinally through the screw tower, and a threaded sleeve mounted on a proximal portion of the driver shaft. The housing includes one or more retention members coupleable to the screw tower, and a threaded button threadably coupleable to the threaded sleeve. The threaded sleeve is rotatable about a longitudinal axis to urge the driver shaft longitudinally relative to the screw tower.
Minimally invasive spinal fixation system and related methods
This application describes surgical instruments and implants for building a posterior fixation construct across one or more segments of the spinal column. Extension guides are provided that attach to bone anchors implanted within the spine. The extension guides have a guide channel that align with a rod channel in the anchor to help direct the rod to the anchor. Instruments are provided to aid in insertion and positioning or the rod.
Fusion systems and methods of assembly and use
The present invention discloses fusion systems and methods of assembly and use. The fusion systems include a first fastener, a second fastener, and an elongate member with a first end and a second end. The first end being secured to the first fastener and the second end being secure to the second fastener. The method of assembling a fusion system and methods of using the fusion systems are also disclosed.
MODULAR ROD REDUCTION TOWER AND RELATED METHODS
A bone fixation system includes a bone fastener and a tower including a modular engagement feature therebetween, the tower having at least one flexible section and at least one rigid section to accommodate and/or mitigate tower interference and/or collision during surgical procedures. The distal section can desirably be separated and/or detached from the tower to function as a head locking unit of the bone fixation assembly, with the detached distal section capable of accommodating set screws, fixation rods and/or other spinal hardware.
Bone fusion device, system and methods
The present disclosure includes implant systems, devices, implants, guides, instruments and methods of use. The insertion guide including a base member having a first opening with a first trajectory and a second opening with a second trajectory, a connecting member having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is coupled to the base member and a locking block coupled to the second end of the connecting member. The locking block has a first guide hole and a second guide hole. The implant including a body including a first hole at a first end of the body, a second hole at a second end of the body, and a locking opening positioned between the first hole and the second hole. Methods of using the implant systems are also disclosed.
Device for surgery to stabilize bone segments, extending assembly and assembling method thereof
The present disclosure discloses a device for surgery to stabilize bone segments, which includes a screw assembly, a supporting member, an extending member, and a fastening member. The supporting member is connected with an arm of a receiver of the screw assembly. The extending member includes a connecting portion and an extending portion. The connecting portion is located at one end of the extending member opposite to the receiver. The extending portion is connected to the arm with the supporting member passing through a through hole of the extending portion, and a portion of the supporting member protrudes out of the extending portion to the connecting portion. The fastening member is sleeved on the connecting portion and has a pressing groove. The supporting member is located between the connecting portion and the pressing groove. The pressing groove includes a release position and a pressing position for the supporting member.
