The present invention relates to a device for the selective biological synthesis of a bone tissue arranged to allow the stabilization of a fracture or an osteoporotic bone tissue and for the introduction of medicinal substances for bone diseases.

THREADED IMPLANT FOR BONE FIXATION AND RELATED METHODS
20230190348 · 2023-06-22 ·

A threaded implant for bone fixation is provided. The implant includes a head. The implant includes a shaft extending distally from the head. The shaft includes a distal tip. The shaft includes a first set of threads extending a first predetermined length from the distal tip. The first set of threads are configured to capture cortical bone in one of a foot and/or ankle bone of a patient. The shaft includes a second set of threads extending a second predetermined length from the first set of threads. The second set of threads configured to capture epiphyseal bone in the one of the foot and/or ankle bone. Related methods are also provided.

Reinforced biocomposite materials. According to at least some embodiments, medical implants are provided that incorporate novel structures, alignments, orientations and forms comprised of such reinforced bioabsorbable materials, as well as methods of treatment thereof.

BONE PLATE, SURGICAL SETS AND RECONSTRUCTION SETS

A bone plate for reconstruction or trauma treatment of a bone which comprises first and second ends, a first contact surface for contacting and securing on a first region of the bone, and a plurality of receiving mechanism each having at least one opening for receiving at least one securing element. At least two adjacent wings extend at least from the first end of the main section, each has a second contact surface for contacting and securing to a second region of the bone, as well as at least one receiving mechanism having at least one opening for each receiving a securing element. A minimum bending stiffness of the main section, in relation to an axis (x) running perpendicular to the first contact surface, is greater than the minimum bending stiffnesses of the wings, but smaller than the total minimum bending stiffness of all wings extending from the first end.

Bone screw with a slotted self-drilling tip
11678920 · 2023-06-20 ·

A self-drilling bone screw, comprising a head, a threaded body, and a tip region. The threaded body extends vertically below the head and has a helical male threading. The tip region extends vertically below the treaded body. The tip region is fluted and has a pointed bottom tip, such that the tip region is configured to drill a hole into a bone and generate bone chips. The tip region further has a slot disposed horizontally through a portion of the tip region above the pointed bottom tip, the slot being configured to trap at least some of the bone chips, thereby enabling fusion between the bone and the bone chips. A diameter of threaded body is larger than a maximal diameter of the tip region.

DIFFERENTIAL COMPRESSION BONE SCREW

A differential compression bone screw and a method are provided for compressing adjacent bone portions together to encourage bone fusion. The compression bone screw is comprised of a head portion and a shank. A center hole extends from the head portion to a distal end of the shank. A superior end of the head portion includes a shaped opening that receives a tool for driving the compression bone screw into a hole drilled in a patient's bone. An inferior end of the head portion includes barbs that engage with surrounding bone tissue. A smooth portion of the shank is disposed between proximal threads and distal threads that rotatably engage within the hole in the patient's bone. A thread pitch of the distal threads is greater than a thread pitch of the proximal threads, such that the compression bone screw comprises a differential pitch configured to compress the adjacent bone portions.

Bone stabilizing implants and methods of placement across SI Joints

Threaded sacro-iliac joint stabilization (e.g., fusion, fixation) implants and methods of implantation and manufacture. Some implants include a threaded distal region, an optionally threaded central region, and an optionally threaded proximal region. The distal, central, and proximal regions have lengths such that when the implant is laterally implanted across a SI joint, the distal region can be positioned in a sacrum, the central region can be positioned across an SI-joint, and the proximal region can be positioned in an ilium.

Bone screw

A bone screw is provided that includes a tubular body having a first end and a closed second end. The tubular body has a tubular wall defining a cavity wherein the thickness of the wall in a radial direction is smaller than an inner radius of the cavity and wherein a plurality of recesses is provided extending entirely through the tubular wall into the cavity. The tubular body further includes an exterior bone thread on an exterior tubular surface portion of the tubular wall, a head at the first end configured to engage with a driver to advance the bone screw in the bone, and a tip at the second end. The tubular body, the head and the tip are formed as a single piece.

SURGICAL DEVICE FOR USE IN SPINAL OR MUSCULOSKELETAL SURGERY OR IN SIMULATED SURGERY AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
20230172669 · 2023-06-08 ·

A device for use in spinal surgery or musculoskeletal surgery, or in simulated surgery, where the device is non-implantable, includes a first component having a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the first and second ends, wherein the first end is connectable to a second component in an adjustable manner, and a detection device configured to monitor position changes of the second component relative to the first component and to deliver position data corresponding to the position changes to an evaluation unit that is separate from the device. At least part of the detection device at or near the first end of the first component is movable laterally away from the longitudinal axis to monitor movement of at least part of the second component away from the longitudinal axis.
