PRETENSIONABLE LOCKING SYSTEM
20200298356 · 2020-09-24 ·

A pretensionable locking system, a method for producing a locking system and a medical-technical instrument including a locking system. The locking system (2) includes a locking body (10) with an inner thread (12), and an inner locking body (20) with an outer thread (22). In a pretensioned position, the inner thread lies against the outer thread in a first longitudinal axial direction (80) and is pretensioned against the outer thread. In a locked position, the outer locking body is fixed on the inner locking body by screwing the inner thread onto the outer thread. The outer locking body has a resilient retaining element (14) that projects radially inward, and the inner locking body has a rigid bulge (24) that projects radially outward. In the pretensioned position, the retaining element lies against the bulge in a second longitudinal axial direction (85) that is opposite the first longitudinal axial direction.

Implants, instruments, and methods for connecting and/or stabilizing first and second bone portions relative to one another are presented including fasteners and retainers connectable in axial force transmitting relationship and instruments for their installation. In one example a guide is configured to clamp two bone portions together while a fastener is inserted through at least one of the bone portions to engage a retainer.

Method and apparatus for spinal stabilization

A method and apparatus of limiting at least one degree of movement between a superior vertebrae and an inferior vertebrae of a patient includes advancing a distal end of a stabilization device into a pedicle of the inferior vertebrae. A proximal portion of the stabilization device is positioned such that the proximal portion limits at least one degree of movement between a superior vertebrae and an inferior vertebrae by contacting a surface of the superior vertebrae.

External Fixation Stabilizers, Systems, Kits, and Methods

The disclosure relates to orthopedic medical devices for fixating, immobilizing, and manipulating bones, components of these medical devices, and methods. Specific examples relate to external fixation stabilizers and assemblies suitable for spacing a footplate from the ground. An external fixation stabilizer assembly includes a base member that defines an upper cavity and a lower cavity, a spacer defining a passageway, a connector member partially disposed in the lower cavity and extending into the upper cavity and through the spacer passageway, and a footing member attached to the lower surface of the base member. The spacer is movable between a first orientation on the connector in which a portion of the spacer extends into the upper cavity and a second orientation in which no portion of the spacer is disposed in the upper cavity. The disclosure also relates to external fixation systems, external fixation kits, and various related methods.

Bone anchor housing limiter

A bone anchor system can comprise a fastener, a rod housing and a first directional component configured for connection to the fastener. The fastener can comprise a shaft having a shaft diameter, an anchoring projection on the shaft, and a head at an end of the shaft. The rod housing can be connected to the head of the fastener. The first directional component can comprise a first body portion having a first outer diameter larger than the shaft diameter, a first bore extending through the first body portion, the first bore sized to receive the shaft diameter, and a first locking component extending from the first body portion configured to engage the rod housing to limit movement of the housing.

Spinal implant system and method

A spinal construct includes a coupling member including a first mating surface engageable with an existing fastener implant. The existing fastener implant defines a cavity configured for disposal of an existing spinal rod implant. A connector is engageable with the existing fastener implant and has a rod extending therefrom. A locking member is engageable with a second mating surface of the coupling member. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

The present invention relates generally to medical devices and methods generally aimed at spinal surgery. In particular, the disclosed system and associated methods relate to performing spinal fixation with the use of a deformity system.

Bone fracture fixation clamp

A bone fixation clamp includes first and second clamp members, a stud, and a locking nut. The first member extends along a curve corresponding to an outer surface of a first portion of bone and includes an opening extending therethrough along an axis extending adjacent to the bone. The second member extends along a curve corresponding to an outer surface of a second portion of bone. The stud is receivable within the opening of the first member. The nut includes a threaded channel threadedly engaging a portion of the stud so that, when the first and second members are in the operative configuration, the nut is threadable over the stud to fix the first and second members over bone. The nut includes an anti-loosening feature which, when the nut is threaded over the stud, results in an interference with threading along the stud.
