Methods and systems for immobilization and stabilization of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) for providing a foundation for long spinopelvic fixation constructs

Systems and methods for treating musculoskeletal disorders of the spinopelvic anatomy including treating spinal deformities by spinopelvic fixation including fusion of the sacroiliac joint at the base of long spinal fusion construct cases. The system may include implants designed to be used as an adjunct to long spinal fusions to further the immobilization and stabilization of the sacroiliac joint. The implants may be designed to augment an S2AI screw and an S1 screw in order to improve durability of the foundation of the spinal construct. The implants may have a triangular cross section.

An expandable device for expanding and supporting body tissue comprises an inferior endplate having an outer surface configured to contact one body tissue surface and a superior endplate having an outer surface configured to contact an opposing body tissue surface. The inferior endplate and the superior endplate are movable relative to each other in a direction of expansion. The device includes an elevator captively supported between the inferior endplate and the superior endplate for independent movement along the direction of expansion. In the first direction the elevator is moved toward said superior endplate to lift the superior endplate and expand the device. In the second direction the elevator moves away from said superior endplate toward said inferior endplate to create a space for insertion of an insert into the expanded device.

SPINAL INTERBODY WITH COMPRESSIVE FUSION FEATURES

An interbody spacer for a spine includes a housing having a plurality of clearance holes configured to engage bone of the spine. A contact plate including a plurality of apertures is positioned a distance away from the housing configured to engage bone of the spine. A plurality of rivets adjoin the housing and the contact plate. A plurality of springs are included with each spring configured to encircle a respective rivet and translate the distance between the housing and contact plate from a minimum distance to a maximum distance.

Osteosynthesis Device

In one embodiment, the present invention includes an intramedullary osteosynthesis or arthrodesis implant including a central body, a first pair of legs extending from the central body to a pair of leg tips, and a second pair of legs extending from the central body, in a direction opposite the first pair of legs, to a pair of leg tips such that the central body, first pair of legs and second pair of legs are positioned alongside a longitudinal axis.

PROCESS FOR INTRODUCING A STABILIZING ELEMENT INTO A VERTEBRAL COLUMN

A process for introducing a stabilizing element into a vertebral column, in which the stabilizing element is introduced in such a manner that the stabilizing element connects two adjacent vertebral bodies to one another.

Fixation devices for anterior lumbar or cervical interbody fusion

An implant including a cage configured to be implanted between two vertebrae, including a first deployable keel, including a first blade, a first flange extending substantially perpendicularly from a first edge of the first blade, and a second flange extending substantially perpendicularly from a second edge of the first blade, such that the cross-section of the first deployable keel is in the shape of half of an I-beam. The implant further includes a second deployable keel, including a second blade, a third flange extending substantially perpendicularly from a first edge of the second blade, and a fourth flange extending substantially perpendicularly from a second edge of the second blade, such that the cross-section of the second deployable keel is in the shape of half of an I-beam. The first keel is configured to deploy in a superior direction, and the second keel is configured to deploy in an inferior direction.

Prosthetic spinal disc replacement and methods thereof

The present invention relates generally to a prosthetic spinal disc for replacing a damaged disc between two vertebrae of a spine and methods for inserting said discs. The intervertebral prosthetic discs are provided with connections for facilitating implantation and removal and features which enhance primary and secondary stability over time.

Intervertebral implants, assemblies, and methods thereof. An intervertebral implant includes opposing chamfered edges to reduce a diagonal distance between the edges. The reduced diagonal distance minimizes distraction of an intervertebral disc space during insertion of the implant. A tool for insertion and rotation of the implant is also provided.
