Methods of implanting SI joint stabilization implants across a SI joint from a dorsal approach. The methods may include advancing an elongate implant positioning guide in a dorsal trajectory into an ilium of a subject, directly engaging a guide interface member of a SI joint stabilization implant with the positioning guide to restrict movement of the implant with respect to the positioning guide in at least one direction, and advancing the implant across the SI joint while guiding the implant with the positioning guide.

A method of preparing an interpositional implant suitable for a knee. The method includes determining a three-dimensional shape of a tibial surface of the knee. An implant is produced having a superior surface and an inferior surface, with the superior surface adapted to be positioned against a femoral condyle of the knee, and the inferior surface adapted to be positioned upon the tibial surface of the knee. The inferior surface conforms to the three-dimensional shape of the tibial surface. The implant may be inserted into the knee without making surgical cuts on the tibial surface. The tibial surface may include cartilage, or cartilage and bone.

Osteosynthesis Device

In one embodiment, the present invention includes an intramedullary osteosynthesis or arthrodesis implant including a central body, a first pair of legs extending from the central body to a pair of leg tips, and a second pair of legs extending from the central body, in a direction opposite the first pair of legs, to a pair of leg tips such that the central body, first pair of legs and second pair of legs are positioned alongside a longitudinal axis.

PROCESS FOR INTRODUCING A STABILIZING ELEMENT INTO A VERTEBRAL COLUMN

A process for introducing a stabilizing element into a vertebral column, in which the stabilizing element is introduced in such a manner that the stabilizing element connects two adjacent vertebral bodies to one another.

A medical implant (1) designed to enable bony fusion between a first bone (20) and a second bone (21), said implant being in the form of an elongate part comprising, extending along the longitudinal axis of the part, a head (2) and a body (3) spaced apart from each other by a connection zone (4) connecting the head (2) to the body (3), said head (2) being suitable for being inserted into the first bone (20), said body (3) being suitable for being inserted into the second bone (21), said body (3) being a hollow body that is slotted longitudinally along at least a portion of its length in order to define at least three elastically deformable longitudinal tabs (5) by means of which said body (3) is suitable for being inserted into the second bone (21). Each longitudinal tab (5) of the body (3) is an arcuate tab (5) that presents an outer face (6), i.e. directed towards the outside of the body (3), extending longitudinally in curved manner with curvature having its concave side directed towards the outside of the body (3).

The present application generally relates to orthopedic systems, and in particular, to systems including independent plates and spacers. A plating system can include a spacer and a plate that is independent from the spacer. A number of locking mechanisms can be provided to secure the plate to the spacer. In some cases, the spacer includes a pair of notches that extend on an outer surface of the spacer. The plate can include a pair of lateral extensions that can engage the notches to secure the plate to the spacer. In other cases, the spacer includes an opening including a pair of inlets. The plate can include an enclosed posterior extension that can be received in the pair of inlets to secure the plate to the spacer.

A surgical implant assembly includes a surgical implant, a bone plate, and fixation devices. The surgical implant includes a top surface, a bottom surface disposed in opposed relation relative to the top surface, first and second surfaces interconnecting the top and bottom surfaces, and a front surface. First ends of the first and second side surfaces define a back surface extending across a first end of the surgical implant, and the front surface extends across a second end of the surgical implant and interconnects second ends of the first and second side surfaces. At least one cavity is defined in the surgical implant. The bone plate includes an elongate body extending between first and second end portions. The elongate body is positionable adjacent the front surface of the surgical implant. The fixation devices are configured to secure the surgical implant or the bone plate to osseous tissue.
