SPLIT INSERTION-TYPE INTERVERTEBRAL CAGE
20220249246 · 2022-08-11 ·

Provided is a cage to be inserted into vertebrae. The cage configured to reduce a risk of organs, muscles, and nerves being injured during an insertion surgery process and to allow the insertion surgery process to be easily performed. To this end, the present invention provides a cage including a leading insertion portion which is inserted from the front of vertebrae to be in position between the vertebrae and a following insertion portion which is coupled to one surface of the leading insertion portion to be in position between the vertebrae. According to the present invention, there are effects of reducing a risk of organs, muscles, and nerves being injured during a surgery process of inserting the cage, facilitating the surgery process of inserting the cage, reducing post-surgery side effects by stably fixing the cage, and reducing a surgery time to reduce a burden to a patient.

SPINAL CAGE WITH MODULAR ANCHORING ELEMENTS

The invention relates to a modular anchoring adaptor that engages with existing features of commercially available ALIF cages to help eliminate migration and/or anterior expulsion cause by the instability of the spine, such as lordosis. Such modular adaptor will mate or engage with existing features to enhance anchoring within the vertebral disc space, which space is limited and a low-profile should be maintained.

Laterally insertable intervertebral spinal implant

An intervertebral implant for implantation in an intervertebral space between vertebrae. The implant includes a body having a front end, a rear end and a pair of spaced apart first and second side walls extending between the front and rear ends. The front and rear ends extend in a transverse direction and a central axis of the body extends from the rear end to the front end. The rear end defines a first fastener hole having a first central axis and a second fastener hole having a second central axis. The first and second central axes extend parallel to one another at an acute angle relative to the body central axis in the transverse direction.

SYSTEM, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ANATOMICALLY CORRECT RECONSTRUCTION OF LIGAMENTS

A method, system and devices for the reconstruction of ribbon shaped ligaments following the anatomical native insertion sites of the ligaments in the corresponding bones is described. The reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the human knee is depicted. The system includes means for positioning and creating bone-tunnels, the preparation of grafts and the fixation thereof. The devices intended for bone tunnel creation take into account the ribbon-shaped nature of the ligament and can be adjusted to patient specific anatomy and take into consideration the various typologies of the ligament insertion sites. The method and devices for graft preparation are construed to reflect the anatomy of ligaments under consideration as close as possible to native ligaments by imitating the ribbon-like nature of native ligaments. The presented fixation methods follow this principle and are intended to support the ribbon-like nature of the grafts and are intended to support in-growth of the grafts. Furthermore, accessories supporting preparation of the grafts are presented.

A long-pitch, helical anchor (where long pitch is greater than length, itself greater than twice maximum diameter; and very long, extra-long, or hyper pitch exceeding several lengths of such anchor, typically at least 2 and usually 5 or 6) includes splines radially extending and helically progressing circumferentially around and axially along an elongate core. The center line or axis may be solid, all splines meeting near the center line. In other embodiments, the center line passes along the center of a lumen or channel of a hollow core, while the splines extend radially outward from, and axially along a length of the core. Installation may be from a posterior access or a lateral-posterior access, fixing two bones in two degrees of freedom, three degrees of freedom, or multiple anchors fixing the bones firmly in three degrees of freedom.

Two-Piece Floating Joint Replacement Device With A Rigid Backing Material
20210282936 · 2021-09-16 ·

A two-part joint replacement device for replacing damaged soft joint tissue, such as a meniscus or cartilage tissue. In one form, the device may include a free floating soft joint tissue replacement component comprising a first tissue-interface surface shaped to engage a first anatomical (bone and/or cartilage) structure of a joint having damaged soft tissue. The device may also include a free floating rigid base component comprising a second tissue-interface surface shaped to engage a second anatomical (bone and/or cartilage) structure of the joint. The free floating soft joint tissue replacement component may be shaped to slidably interface with the rigid base component. In another form, the free floating soft joint tissue replacement component and the rigid base component are fixed together.

Intersomatic prosthesis with lateral introduction

An intersomatic prosthesis with lateral introduction with a prosthesis body symmetrical along a sagittal plane is provided. The intersomatic prosthesis includes a convex anterior lateral wall along an anterior radius of curvature and a convex posterior lateral wall along a posterior radius of curvature larger than the anterior radius of curvature, a right end wall and a left end wall, and a lower bearing wall and an upper bearing wall open onto an inner space. The lower bearing wall has a central lower portion provided with lower teeth having lower bearing tips defining a lower bearing surface which is planar, and the upper bearing wall has a central upper portion provided with upper teeth having upper bearing tips defining an upper bearing surface which is convex.

An intervertebral implant includes a body and a plate. The body has an upper surface defining an upper plane and a lower surface defining a lower plane. First and second fastener holes of the plate are configured to retain the heads of first and second fasteners. A portion of each of the shanks of the first and second fasteners extends from the first and second fastener holes beyond the upper plane. The shank portions of the first and second fasteners are curved in a direction away from the upper surface. The third fastener hole is configured to retain the head of the third fastener between the upper and lower planes. A portion of the shank of the third fastener extends from the third fastener hole beyond the lower plane. The shank portion of the third fastener is curved in a direction away from the lower surface.
