A device for containing bone graft material comprises a body including an inner sleeve extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and an outer sleeve surrounding the inner sleeve and extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end such that a bone graft collecting space is formed therebetween.

Spinal fusion cage system with inserter

The present disclosure relates to a spinal fusion impactor tool that includes an attachment means for securing an implant device to the distal end of the tool, a means for adjusting the angle of the distal head relative to the handle to better position the implant for introduction into the implant site, means for remotely releasing the implant device at the distal end and a clamp device on the shaft of the tool to secure tabs, attachments and other devices. The impactor tool is preferably used in conjunction with implantation of an intervertebral fusion cage that is equipped with shims having tabs or other removing means, but may also be used to introduce, for example, an implant, graft, fusion device, wedge or distractor device into any joint space or bony region in preparation for implantation.

BONE GRAFT CAGE

A facet distraction prosthesis (10, 30) includes an array of facet distraction base elements (12, 32) connected to each other by one or more connector elements (14, 34). A pair of diagonally adjacent base elements (12, 32) are connected to each other by a set of or more connector elements (14, 34) which intersects with another set of one or more connector elements (14, 34) that connects another pair of diagonally adjacent base elements (12, 32). The connector elements (14, 34) are flexible so that the base elements (12, 32) can flex with respect to each other and adapt to a geometry of a facet joint.

Implantable Encapsulation Devices

The present disclosure relates to implantable encapsulation devices for housing a biological moiety or a therapeutic device that contains a biological moiety. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to an implantable apparatus that includes a distal end, a proximal end, a manifold including at least one access port positioned either at the distal end or the proximal end, and a plurality of containment tubes affixed to the manifold and in fluid communication with the at least one access port. Additionally, the encapsulation device may contain a flush port and a tube that are fluidly connected to the manifold. The containment tubes may contain therein a biological moiety (e.g., cells) or a therapeutic device (e.g. a cell encapsulation member).

Multi-walled placeholder

A placeholder for vertebrae or vertebral discs includes a tubular body, which along its jacket surface has a plurality of breakthroughs or openings for over-growth with adjacent tissue. The placeholder includes at least a second tubular body provided with a plurality of breakthroughs and openings at least partially inside the first tubular body. The first and second tubular bodies can have different cross-sectional shapes, can be are arranged inside one another by press fit or force fit or can be connected to each other via connecting pins and arranged side by side to one another in the first body.

Devices and methods for minimally invasive immediate implant stabilization

A system for the amelioration of a recess (56) in a porous material, said system comprising an element (2) for coupling in mechanical energy, and a cylindrical collar (4, 40) having a central recess (44,45) for a guide pin (8), wherein the pin (8), having a cannulation (35), is provided to be inserted as far as the bottom of the recess (56) using a wire (52), wherein the pin (8) is surrounded by an amelioration sleeve (7), wherein the external cylindrical jacket surface of the sleeve (7) has substantially the same external diameter as the collar (4, 40), and wherein the pin (8) is received movably in the central recess (44,45) such that, when mechanical energy is applied, the collar (4,40) can be moved relative to the guide pin (8) in the direction toward the bottom of the recess (8) while liquefying and displacing the material of the sleeve (7).

Robotic Bone Preparation for Increasing Implant Contact Surface Area

A bone implant includes at least one bone-engaging surface designed to mate with an implant-engaging surface of a bone. In the preferred embodiment, the bone-engaging surface of the implant includes a wave pattern comprising at least one peak extending in a proximal direction or at least one valley extending in a distal direction. The implant-engaging surface of the bone also includes a matching wave pattern having at least one peak and valley. Upon mating the engaging surfaces, a bone-implant interface may be created wherein the peaks and valleys of the wave patterns are aligned. As a result, there is good surface contact area at the bone-implant interface which helps prevent loosening or rotating of the implant.
