Artificial spinal disc and artificial disc insertion method using the same
11559410 · 2023-01-24 · ·

Provided is an artificial spinal disc including an upper disc formed in a plate shape with top coupled to an upper vertebra, a protruding joint portion protruding from a lower surface of the upper disc, and a lower disc formed in a plate shape with bottom coupled to a lower vertebra wherein the protruding joint portion is seated on an upper surface of the lower disc. According to the foregoing description, the artificial disc is implanted through the lateral or anterolateral approach to the spine, rather than the anterior approach, and such lateral implantation is straightforward.

IMPLANT FOR RECONSTRUCTING AN ACETABULUM AND AT LEAST PART OF A PELVIC STRUCTURE
20220338994 · 2022-10-27 · ·

The present invention provides an implant for reconstructing an acetabulum and at least part of a pelvic structure. To this end, the implant comprises a frame structure embodied by at least one first profile element for transferring joint forces, a joint section which forms at least part of an artificial acetabulum, at least two attachment sections for attaching the implant to bone tissue, wherein a first attachment section is provided for attachment to a sacral bone or iliac bone and a second attachment section is provided for attachment to a pubic bone, and at least one plate element for supporting internal organs, which is surrounded by the frame structure, at least in sections.

ACETABULAR ORTHOPAEDIC PROSTHESIS AND METHOD

An orthopaedic components, prostheses, and methods for a hip arthroplasty are disclosed. An acetabular prosthetic component includes an outer rim and a cavity defined by an inner wall. The cavity is sized to receive a femoral head of a femoral prosthetic component. The inner wall includes a curved surface extending inwardly from the outer rim to an inner end, and a semi-spherical surface connected to the inner end of the curved surface. The inner wall is shaped to resist dislocation of the femoral head component from the cavity and permit the femoral head component to articulate over a range of motion.

Implant

An implant (20), prosthesis and method of use are described. The implant comprises an articulation component (24) having a bearing surface (60) and a reverse surface (62) arranged to couple to a proximal neck portion (26) of an arthroplasty implant (22) coupled to a bone. A collar (28) is arranged to couple to the reverse surface of the articulation component. The collar defines a neck hole (70) arranged to pass around the coupling between the articulation component and the proximal neck portion of the arthroplasty implant. The collar and the articulation component comprise complementary coupling features to secure the collar to the articulation component. The collar further comprises a plurality of attachment portions (74) to couple the collar to bone fragments or soft tissues. The prosthesis comprises the implant and an arthroplasty implant having a distal portion arranged to be coupled to an end of a long bone and a proximal neck portion.
