A modular augment cone system and methods of implanting the modular augment cone system. The system includes a main body cone a first cutout in the cone wall, and including a proximal end, a distal end, and a cone wall extending between the proximal and distal ends. A portion of the cone wall proximal to the first cutout includes an attachment feature. A first augment cone is positionable in the first cutout, the first augment cone including an attachment feature configured to mate with the attachment feature of the cone wall to attach the first augment cone into the first cutout. The main body cone can include a second cutout in the cone wall. In such systems, the modular augment cone system can include a second augment cone configured to mate with an attachment feature of the cone wall to attach the second augment cone into the second cutout.

Bone fusion device, system and method

A bone fusion method, system and device for insertion between bones that are to be fused together in order to replace degenerated discs and/or bones, for example, the vertebrae of a spinal column. The bone fusion device comprises a frame and one or more extendable plates that are able to be angled, rotatable, adjustable, and have top profiles designed to correct and/or match the replaced discs/bones. The bone fusion device is able to be inserted between or replace the vertebrae by using a minimally invasive procedure wherein the dimensions and/or other characteristics of the bone fusion device are selectable based on the type of minimally invasive procedure.

Expandable interbody fusion device

An expandable interbody fusion device includes superior and inferior endplates that are configured to receive a sequentially inserted stack of interlocking expansion members or wafers. The like-configured wafers include features on their top and bottom surfaces that interlock the wafers in multiple degrees of freedom so that the wafer stack is not disrupted when the fusion device is fully expanded. One of the interlocking features includes a plurality of prongs projecting from an upper surface of the wafers and into a recess defined in the lower surface of an adjacent previously inserted like-configured wafer. The prongs and recesses are configured to prevent retrograde movement of each new wafer in a direction opposite the direction of insertion. Other interlocking features prevent movement in the direction of insertion, transverse to the insertion direction and vertically within the stack.

Embodiments of a composite interbody system 10 for treating mammalian bony segments including various materials to encourage bony fusion while enabling radiographic visualization where the composite interbody system 10 may be employed between two, adjacent mammalian bony segments to stabilize, maintain spacing between, or couple the bony segments. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Anchoring device and system for an intervertebral implant, intervertebral implant and implantation instrument

The present invention relates to various embodiments of anchoring devices for intervertebral implants, intervertebral implant and implantation of instrumentation, sharing the characteristic to cooperate with the anchoring device (1) comprising a body comprising at least one curve, rigid plate (10) elongated along a longitudinal axis (L) so that its front end enters at least one vertebra while its rear end remains in the passage (21) of the implant (2) by pressing said implant (2) against said vertebra with at least one retaining stop (14), the device (1) being characterized in that the plate (10) comprises at least one longitudinal slot (11) separating at least one posterior portion of the plate (10) into two branches (12, 13) which at least one comprises at least one withdrawal stop (15) configured to retain the device (1) in the implant (2).

Method of implanting aspheric hip bearing couple

In one embodiment a method of implanting a prosthetic includes implanting a first member including a concave articulation surface portion defined by a first radius of curvature in a first bone, implanting in a second bone a second member including a first convex articulation surface portion defined by a second radius of curvature and a second convex articulation surface defined by a third radius of curvature, wherein the second convex articulation surface is defined by the lemon portion of a spindle torus and each of the second radius of curvature and the third radius of curvature has a length that is different from the length of the first radius of curvature by less than 0.05 millimeters and wherein the origin of the second radius of curvature is not coincident with the origin of the third radius of curvature, and bringing the first member into slidable contact with the second member.

Elbow prosthesis

A method and apparatus for replacing a selected portion of the anatomy is described. In particular, a prosthesis can be provided to replace a portion of an articulating joint, such as an elbow. The apparatus can be modular for various reasons and each of the modular portions can include a different dimension to achieve a selected result. For example, the prosthesis can achieve a different size condylar replacement, a selected offset, a selected articulation, or combinations thereof.

TIBIAL SAMPLE IMPLANT WITH GEARING MECHANISM
20240238102 · 2024-07-18 ·

A tibial sample implant for use in knee joint replacement surgery has a lower part and an upper part. The upper part has a sliding surface designed to interact with a femoral component. A height adjustment mechanism can move the upper part in a guided manner relative to the lower part between a first position, in which the sliding surface is positioned at a first height above the lower part, and a second position, in which the sliding surface is positioned at a second height above the lower part. The height adjustment mechanism has a drive gear and a control cam. An output element is rotationally fixed to the upper part and has a support section supported on the control cam so that the upper part can be moved between the first position and the second position by a rotational movement of the drive gear.
