A furniture item comprises first and second edge modules, each edge module having a substantially horizontal component with a receiving section and a substantially vertical component with a receiving section. The first and second edge modules are spaced and arranged with respect to each other so that the respective receiving section of the horizontal components face each other. A top surface is provided and has first and second ends. The first end is supported by the receiving section of the horizontal component of one first edge module and the second end is supported by the receiving section of the horizontal component of the second edge module. Further, there is a first leg having an upper section accommodated by the receiving section of the vertical component of the first edge module and a second leg having an upper section accommodated by the receiving section of the vertical component of the second edge module.

The multi-tiered food preparation receptacle includes a first pair of rails and a second pair of rails. The first pair of rails defines a second horizontal plane and the second pair of rails defines a third horizontal plane. The first pair of rails and the second pair of rails are configured to receive items of food service equipment and permit the items of food service equipment to translate in the multi-tiered food preparation receptacle relative to one another without interference.

A foldable chair, comprising a seat portion and a telescopic side wall includes rings of varying diameters consecutively arranged. A topmost ring is mounted to a bottom surface of the seat portion and has a smallest diameter. A bottommost ring has a largest diameter. In deployed position, the telescopic side wall is opened or partially folded to set and lock a desired height of the chair. In fully retracted position all of the rings are disposed adjacent the bottom surface of the seat portion. Each ring is an integral unit configured with a locking arrangement that selectively locks it to an adjacent ring. In some embodiments, a security lock centrally disposed along a height of the chair substantially perpendicular to the varying diameters of the rings secures the locking arrangement. A table uses the foldable chair as a leg and can store several, for example four, foldable chairs.

A worktable for a laboratory automation system can include a worktop with a level surface and a support profile for supporting the worktop, bent from a metal sheet The support profile can include a facing edge, and an underside of the worktop can lie directly on the facing edge. The support profile can include at least one reception lug. The worktable can include a bolt-shaped fastener for attaching the worktop on the support profile. A variable height platform system comprises a frame assembly, at least two leg assemblies, a drive mechanism, and a sensor. The frame assembly is configured to support and be removably connected to a tabletop. The drive mechanism is configured to either extend or retract each leg assembly in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to set a height of the frame assembly in an elevated position for use. The sensor is configured to sense position and movement of a user in a predetermined area including an area of the variable height platform system and an area proximate the variable height platform system. The controller is operatively connected to the sensor and drive mechanism. The controller is configured to operate the drive mechanism in response to the sensor sensing the position and movement of the user in the predetermined area.

A tray attachment assembly providing a horizontal surface for placement of items thereon. The assembly includes a tray that defines the horizontal surface and a connection mechanism for fixedly clamping the tray to an attachment surface. The tray includes a first planar section extending between a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge that defines the horizontal surface. A second planar section extends from the second lateral edge of the first planar section at a transverse angle from the first planar section for preventing unintended interaction with the connection mechanism. The transition between the first planar section and the second planar section presents a rounded profile.
