Expandable intervertebral fusion implant
An expandable intervertebral fusion implant, including a first vertical member, an inferior component, including first longitudinal member pivotably connected to the first vertical member, and a second longitudinal member pivotably connected to the first vertical member, and a superior component, including a third longitudinal member pivotably connected to the first vertical member, and a fourth longitudinal member pivotably connected to the first vertical member, wherein the superior component is operatively arranged to displace relative to the inferior component.
Expandable fusion device and method of installation thereof
The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a central ramp, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the central ramp capable of being moved in a first direction to move the first and second endplates outwardly and into an expanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed down an endoscopic tube.
Expandable spinal fusion cage
A device, system, and method for performing a spinal procedure. The device includes first and second shape-memory outer platforms, the outer platforms expanding at a temperature greater than the transformative temperature, a core member having first and second expansion bodies and first and second wedge members, the first expansion body being coupled to the first outer platform and the second expansion body being coupled to the second outer platform, and a screw rotatably disposed within the core member, the screw passing through at least a portion of each of the first and second wedge members. Rotation of the screw causes the first and second wedge members to move toward each other and the first and second expansion bodies to move away from each other. Thus, reaching a transformation temperature and rotating the screw expands the device to come in contact with and anchored against both of the adjacent vertebrae.
Devices and methods for transpedicular stabilization of the spine
According to some embodiments, a method of accessing an intervertebral space of a patient's spine in a minimally invasive manner compromises creating a passage from a posterior end of a pedicle of a vertebral member using a probe, advancing the probe through the pedicle and to a main body portion of the vertebral member, advancing the probe through a superior endplate of the vertebral member and into the intervertebral space and enlarging the passage using at least one tap to create an enlarged passage from a posterior of the pedicle to the intervertebral space. In some embodiments, the enlarged passage traverses at least three cortical layers of the vertebral member.
Method of Implanting Joint Prosthesis With Infinitely Positionable Head
A surgical procedure method includes accessing an implanted joint prosthesis having an implant engaged within a bone of the joint and a first articulating component mounted by a first mating component to a first insert component removably mounted to the implant, and partially disassembling the accessed implanted joint prosthesis by removing the first insert component with the first articulating component fixed thereto from the implant while the implant is engaged with the bone. The angular position of the first mating component with respect to the first insert component is then determined and replicated with a second insert component and a second mating component. The second insert component and the second mating component are then fixed at the replicated angle and the fixed second insert component and second mating component are mounted to the implant engaged within the bone. A new articulating component is then mounted to the second mating component.
Expandable fusion device and method of installation thereof
An expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a central ramp, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the central ramp capable of being moved in a first direction to move the first and second endplates outwardly and into an expanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed down an endoscopic tube.
Vertically expandable intervertebral cage, deployment device, and methods of using
A vertically expandable intervertebral cage, deployment devices, and methods for using the same. The intervertebral cage can include a circuitous body at least partially enclosing an interior volume. The intervertebral cage can also include a front panel which can be formed into a wedge for facilitating implantation of the intervertebral cage into an intervertebral space. The intervertebral cage can be converted from an undeployed configuration, wherein the height of the intervertebral cage is reduced, to a deployed configuration, wherein the height of the intervertebral cage is increased to support end plates of the vertebrae. The intervertebral cage can be converted from the undeployed configuration to a deployed configuration by using a deployment device such as an implantation device and a guide wire. The deployment device can be used to impart a force upon the cage.
In one embodiment, the fusion device includes body, a first endplate, and a second endplate, a middle ramp piece, a stem, and two ramp pins. The middle ramped piece is operable to move to generate lordotic expansion of the first and second endplates followed by parallel expansion. The fusion device is operable to be deployed down an endoscopic tube.
Glenoid implant for a shoulder prosthesis, and set for assembling such a glenoid implant
The glenoid implant comprises a baseplate, an articular component which has a convex articular surface, and a platform which is provided both to be secured to the articular component by a first attachment and to be secured to the baseplate by a second attachment, the first attachment being independent from the second attachment and defining an assembly axis along which the platform and the articular component are assembled together. The first attachment comprises both a translational connection that is intraoperatively operable to prevent translation between the platform and the articular component along the assembly axis, and a rotational connection that is intraoperatively operable to prevent rotation between the platform and the articular component around the assembly axis, the translational connection and the rotational connection being distinct from each other. The glenoid implant allows assembling the platform indifferently with one of various articular components which differ from each other for example by their material composition and/or by some geometric features of their convex articular surface and/or etc. The articular component that is effectively assembled with the platform can be chosen by the surgeon during surgery, i.e. during an implantation operation or just before the latter.
