SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXPANDABLE CORPECTOMY SPACER IMPLANTATION
An implant assembly including an expandable vertebral body replacement implant. Two outer cores disposed on opposing ends of an inner are configured to move away from each other when the inner core is actuated. The implant assembly may include removable endplate configured to engage vertebral bodies as interbody spacer or through a corpectomy. The implant may include a locking mechanism to prevent collapse or movement the implant assembly after implantation. The locking mechanism may be automatically engage after removal of an inserter instrument from the implant assembly.
VERTEBRAL IMPLANTS AND ATTACHMENT ASSEMBLIES
A prosthetic implant for engagement between first and second vertebrae. The implant includes a first plate configured for attachment to the first vertebrae and defining a first interbody connection member and a second plate configured for attachment to the second vertebrae and defining a second interbody connection member. An interbody component includes a body with a first end defining a first plate connection member configured for connection to the first interbody connection member and a second end defining a second plate connection member configured for connection to the second interbody connection member. A method of inserting the implant is also provided.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR OPERATING SPINAL IMPLANT SYSTEM WITH DUAL AXIS ADJUSTABILITY AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
A surgical instrument includes a chassis, a first driving shaft, a first measuring mechanism, a second measuring mechanism, and a first handle. The chassis defines a first channel and a second channel each extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The first measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the first channel. The second measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the second channel. The first driving shaft is operable to be inserted into the first channel, engaging with the first measuring mechanism. The first driving shaft has an end portion configured to engage and drive a first adjustable feature and/or a second adjustable feature on a work-piece. The handle is operable to be releasably attached to the first driving shaft for applying torque or operable to remove the first driving shaft from the first channel.
DECOUPLED SPACER AND PLATE AND METHOD OF INSTALLING THE SAME
Intervertebral spacer assemblies, systems, and methods thereof. A method of insertion includes inserting an intervertebral spacer and plate together using an insertion tool and, upon removal of the insertion tool, the intervertebral spacer and plate are no longer considered connected/coupled and act as separate components.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXPANDABLE CORPECTOMY SPACER IMPLANTATION
An implant assembly including an expandable vertebral body replacement implant. The implant assembly includes a right hand end and a left hand end configured to attach to a threaded actuator. An outer ring is configured to surround each of the right and left hand ends and the threaded actuator. The implant assembly may include removable endplates configured to engage vertebral bodies as interbody spacer or through a corpectomy. The implant assembly includes a locking mechanism to prevent collapse or movement the implant assembly after implantation. The locking mechanism automatically engage after removal of an inserter instrument from the implant assembly.
INTERVERTEBRAL DEVICES
The present invention relates to an intervertebral fusion device (10) comprising a superior component (12), an inferior component (14) and a core component (16). The superior component (12) and the inferior component (14) are receivable in an intervertebral space between first and second vertebrae with the core component (16) insertable between the superior and inferior components to determine a separation between the superior and inferior components. A bone graft conveying aperture is defined in at least one of a superior component top surface (18) of the superior component and an inferior component bottom surface (20) of the inferior component. The core component defines a bone graft material holding space which is enclosed except at at least one of a core component top surface and core component bottom surface of the core component and a bone graft material delivery opening. The bone graft material delivery opening extends from outside the core component side to the bone graft material holding space. The bone graft material delivery opening is closed by a closure component.
INTERVERTEBRAL DEVICES
The present invention relates to an intervertebral fusion device (10) comprising a superior component (20), an inferior component (40), and a core component (80) inserted there between. The intervertebral fusion device further comprises first and second retention mechanisms which resist ejection of the core component from between the superior and inferior components. Each of the first and second retention mechanisms comprises first and second portions. One of the first and second portions is unitary with one of the superior and inferior components. The other of the first and second portions is unitary with the core component. The first and second portions each comprise an inter-engaging formation which are urged in an opposite direction. The first inter-engaging formation is urged to inter-engage with the second inter-engaging formation upon insertion of the core component between the superior and inferior components.
INTERVERTEBRAL DEVICES
The present invention relates to an intervertebral fusion device (10) comprising a superior component (20), an inferior component (40) receivable in an intervertebral space between first and second vertebrae, with the core component (80) insertable between the superior and inferior components to determine a separation between the superior and inferior components. The superior, inferior components and core components comprise respective formations and profiles. The formations (54, 68) present a barrier to separation of the core from one of the inferior and superior components during insertion of the core component. The profiles guide the core component during insertion of the core component while presenting no barrier to separation from each other during its insertion. The components comprise further formations (39, 76) which present a barrier to separation of the components from each other once the core has been fully inserted between the inferior and superior components.
Bone structural device
A bone structural device including a plurality of bone structural segments, wherein adjacent bone structural segments are pivotally connected to one another about a pivot axis, and the bone structural segments are expandable in height, which is in a direction generally parallel to the pivot axis.
Expandable intervertebral implant
An expandable intervertebral implant, including an inferior component, including a first plate, a second plate connected to the first plate and including a first plurality of locking apertures, and a third plate connected to the first plate and including a second plurality of locking apertures, a superior component slidingly engaged with the inferior component, including, a fourth plate, a fifth plate connected to the fourth plate and including a third locking aperture, and a sixth plate connected to the fourth plate and including a fourth locking aperture, and a locking pin assembly arranged at least partially in the third and fourth locking apertures, and operatively arranged to engage the first and second pluralities of locking apertures to lock the inferior component to the superior component.
