A support surface includes a table top, a movement stage, a movement actuator, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a controller. The movement stage is coupled to the table top and configured to couple to a structure. The movement stage is further configured to permit the table top to move in a degree of freedom. The movement actuator is operable to move the table top in the degree of freedom. The first sensor is for receiving a first user input. The second sensor is for receiving a second user input. The controller operates the movement actuator to move the table top according to the first user input received by the first sensor when the second user input is simultaneously received by the second sensor.

Some implementations of a table system can include a protective member that is positionable below a table to provide protection to both a table and chairs. The protective member can extend lateral beyond a peripheral edge of the table top, for example, to protect the table and accessory furniture while allowing the table top and the peripheral edge of the table top to remain exposed.

A hollow table top comprises a top plate and a bottom plate stacked together. The edge of the bottom surface of the table top is disposed with a metal frame. The edge of the top plate is disposed with a downwardly extending top plate side. The metal frame is disposed with a protruding portion in the horizontal direction extending out of the top plate side. The protruding portion protects the joint of the top plate and the bottom plate. A hollow table top comprises a top plate and a bottom plate stacked together. The edge of the bottom surface of the table top is disposed with a metal frame. The metal frame is disposed with a protruding portion in the horizontal direction extending out of the top plate side. The protruding portion protects the joint of the top plate and the bottom plate. The external edge of the table top has double-layer appearance.

With the above-described structure, the strength of the composite structural board can be further increased while the number of components is reduced, and the production costs are greatly lowered.

In a table having a height-adjustable table top and supporting structures, the table top is secured on the supporting structures so that the supporting structures support the table top. The supporting structures are placeable on a floor. The table includes at least one band which connects the supporting structures and the table top to each other, so that the table top is supported by the supporting structures in that it hangs at the supporting structures with the aid of the band. The table according to the invention permits a simple, convenient, quick and precise adjustment of the height of the table top according to the needs of the respective user of the table.

A height adjustable table includes a table and at least a baffle. The table includes a height adjustable tabletop capable of being lifted up and down in a predetermined direction. The at least a baffle is disposed at least a side of the height adjustable tabletop. Each baffle extends upward and/or downward from the height adjustable tabletop. Because of the baffle, the height adjustable table has an anti-pinch function.
