Insertion instrument for expandable spinal implants
An insertion instrument for expandable spinal implants includes an elongate member, a shuttle, and a worm gear. The elongate member includes a handle portion of a proximal end and an end effector on a distal end, wherein the end effector is configured to be releasably engaged to an expandable spinal implant. The shuttle is slidably disposed within a cavity defined within the end effector and includes a wedged shaped distal end configured to engage an expandable spinal implant. The worm gear is rotatably disposed within the cavity defined in the end effector and is in mechanical communication with the shuttle, such that rotation of the worm gear effectuates movement of the shuttle. Distal movement of the shuttle effectuates articulation of an expandable spinal implant. A method of performing surgery is also disclosed.
ANGLING INSERTER TOOL FOR EXPANDABLE VERTEBRAL IMPLANT
The present invention relates to a method of inserting an implant comprising providing an expandable vertebral implant. The method further may comprise providing an angling inserter tool. The angling inserter tool comprises a handle portion, a base portion, and a tip assembly, the base portion being disposed between the handle portion and the tip assembly. The method further may comprise distally advancing a central shaft of the tip assembly with rotation into an opening in the expandable vertebral implant to secure the angling inserter tool to the expandable vertebral implant. The method further may comprise positioning the expandable vertebral implant in a patient's spine. The method further may comprise for causing the tip assembly to angulate with respect to a longitudinal axis of the angling inserter tool, wherein the internal shaft is coaxial with an outer cylinder of the base portion.
Standalone interbody implants
Stand-alone interbody fusion devices for engagement between adjacent vertebrae. The stand-alone interbody fusion devices may include frames and one or more endplates coupled to the frame. The frame may be configured and designed to provide the apertures which are designed to retain bone fasteners, such as screws or anchors, and secure the implant to the adjacent vertebrae.
PATELLAR IMPLANTS AND TRIALS
Methods and apparatuses including a patellar implant are disclosed. The patellar implant can include a member, an articulation component and a connection mechanism. The member can be configured to engage a osteotimized surface of a patella. The articulation component can have an articulation surface that can be configured to articulate with a femoral prosthesis along a patellar groove. The connection mechanism can connect the articulation component with the member and can be configured to allow for at least one of removal and translational movement of the articulation component relative to the member and patella.
INTER-BODY IMPLANT
A system for implanting an inter-body device between adjacent vertebrae comprises an inter-body device having a plurality of cans secured to a flexible bridge and having a relief portion therebetween. An inserter tube and complementary bullnoses are advantageously secured to the vertebrae by an extension arm for securing the assembly precisely in place. A plurality of articulating trial implants are provided to test fit a disc space for the proper sized inter-body device.
Standalone interbody implants
Stand-alone interbody fusion devices for engagement between adjacent vertebrae. The stand-alone interbody fusion devices may include a spacer or endplates and one or more inserts, members, or frames coupled to the spacer or endplates. The inserts, members, or frames may be configured and designed to provide the apertures which are designed to retain bone fasteners, such as screws or anchors, and secure the implant to the adjacent vertebrae.
Reverse shoulder systems and methods
Provided is a glenoid implant for a shoulder prosthesis that includes: a baseplate including a proximal end, a distal end, an outer periphery, and one or more recesses that extend therethrough adjacent to the outer periphery and extending from the proximal end to the distal end; an internal member disposed in each of the one or more recesses, the internal member defining an aperture extending from the proximal end to the distal end through the internal member; and a screw for each of the at least one internal member, the screw configured to be placed through the aperture, the screw having an external threaded surface. The internal threaded surface of the internal member has more thread starts than the external threaded surface of the screw.
Standalone Interbody Implants
Stand-alone interbody fusion devices for engagement between adjacent vertebrae. The stand-alone interbody fusion devices may include a spacer and one or more inserts or members coupled to the spacer. The inserts or members may be configured and designed to provide the apertures which are designed to retain bone fasteners, such as screws, and secure the implant to the adjacent vertebrae.
KNEE JOINT DEVICE AND METHOD
A method for implanting a medical device in a knee joint of a human patient, said method comprising the steps of cutting the skin of a human patient, dissecting an area of the knee joint, introducing the medical device comprising a first part and second part into the knee joint, and attaching the first part and second part of the medical device such that said medical device clasps a portion of a bone of the knee joint.
SLEEVE AUGMENT DEVICE FOR AN ARTICULATED JOINT
An augment device for a joint endoprosthesis, the device comprising: a sleeve having a top and a bottom, a distance between said top and said bottom defining an entire height of said sleeve, wherein the sleeve surrounds a channel extending through the sleeve from the top to the bottom of the sleeve wherein the channel is configured to receive a stem of the joint endoprosthesis; the sleeve comprising an inner face and an outer face, the inner face defining the channel, and a distance between the inner face and the outer face defining a thickness; the sleeve further comprising a porous material configured for ingrowth of bony material.
