ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF TRIALING AN ORTHOPAEDIC PROSTHETIC ASSEMBLY
An orthopaedic surgical instrument system includes a hinged tibial insert trial and a tibial base trial. A post adapter is sized to be positioned over a post of the tibial base trial and to be positioned in a central opening defined in the hinged tibial insert trial. The hinged tibial insert trial includes a housing configured to be received in a femoral component and a button mechanism to selectively secure the hinged tibial insert trial to the femoral component. The system may include a shim trial sized to be attached to an inferior surface of the hinged tibial insert trial.
Method and apparatus for performing spine surgery
Systems and methods are described for correcting sagittal imbalance in a spine including instruments for performing the controlled release of the anterior longitudinal ligament through a lateral access corridor and hyper-lordotic lateral implants.
ARTHROPLASTY IMPLANT SYSTEMS WITH STEMLESS IMPLANTS
Arthroplasty implant systems and methods are provided for restoring the functionality of a joint. The arthroplasty implant systems may include a threaded cup having a cylindrical shaped body and a flange. A thread may be provided on the cylindrical shaped body. The thread is configured to engage a bone, and the flange is configured to engage a cortical rim of the bone.
MODULAR STEMLESS IMPLANTS FOR ARTHROPLASTY IMPLANT SYSTEMS
Arthroplasty implant systems and methods are provided for restoring the functionality of a joint. The arthroplasty implant systems may include a modular threaded cup having a cylindrical shaped body and a flange that is removably connectable to the cylindrical shaped body. A thread may be provided on the cylindrical shaped body. The thread is configured to engage a cortical and/or cancellous bone of a bone, and the flange is sized to engage a cortical rim of the bone.
Expandable implant
An expandable implant is disclosed in which the implant includes top and bottom plates having angled inner surfaces that interact with expansion members. The expansion members may be situated on an actuator, and may include at least one vertical projection. In some instances, rotation of the actuator in opposing directions about a longitudinal axis may cause the expansion members to move toward or away from one another, thereby resulting in separation of the top and bottom plates. During such expansion of the implant, the at least one vertical projection of the expansion members may be guided at least partially within a recess formed in the first or second plate. Pins may also be included with the expansion members that ride along respective slots in the plates during expansion. An insertion instrument for implanting the aforementioned implant, and methods of using the same, are also disclosed.
EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT
An implant for therapeutically separating bones of a joint has two endplates each having an opening through the endplate, and at least one ramped surface on a side opposite a bone engaging side. A frame is slideably connected to the endplates to enable the endplates to move relative to each other at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the implant, in sliding connection with the frame. An actuator screw is rotatably connected to the frame. A carriage forms an open area aligned with the openings in the endplates. The openings in the endplates pass through the carriage to form an unimpeded passage from bone to bone of the joint. The carriage has ramps which mate with the ramped surfaces of the endplates, wherein when the carriage is moved by rotation of the actuator screw, the endplates move closer or farther apart.
KNEE JOINT ENDOPROSTHESIS
A knee joint endoprosthesis set for replacing a knee joint of a patient, a patient knee joint endoprosthesis set, and a knee joint endoprosthesis system. The knee joint endoprosthesis set includes a knee joint endoprosthesis with a femoral component, a tibial component, and a first meniscal component. The knee joint endoprosthesis set also includes a second meniscal component configured differently from the first meniscal component. One of the first and second meniscal components is arranged between the femoral component and the tibial component for forming the knee joint endoprosthesis.
ELBOW PROSTHESIS
An elbow prosthesis according to the present teachings can include a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure can be operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint. The stem structure can include a stem portion that is operable to be positioned in the bone and a C-shaped body portion having a first retaining mechanism formed thereon. The articulating component can have a second retaining mechanism formed thereon. One of the first and second retaining mechanisms can comprise an extension portion and a first anti-rotation portion. The other retaining mechanism can comprise a receiving portion and a second anti-rotation portion. The articulating component can be advanced from an insertion position to an assembled position, such that the first and second mechanisms cooperatively interlock to inhibit translation and rotation of the articulating component relative to the C-shaped body portion of the stem structure.
ELBOW PROSTHESIS
An elbow prosthesis includes a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure is operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint and includes a stem portion and a C-shaped body portion. The stem portion is operable to be positioned in the bone. The C-shaped body portion includes a first articulating surface bound by a medial wall and a lateral wall. The medial and lateral walls are separated by a first distance. The articulating component includes a second articulating surface positioned between a medial side surface and a lateral side surface. The medial and lateral side surfaces are separated by a second distance that is less than the first distance. The second articulating surface is configured to slidably communicate in a medial/lateral direction along the first articulating surface of the C-shaped body portion.
PROSTHESIS FOR A SHOULDER ARTICULATION
Prosthesis for a shoulder joint including a humeral component equipped with a stem, a head component and connection or articulation means of the humeral component with the head component, wherein the prosthesis according to the invention can be used both as a conventional prosthesis and as a reverse-type prosthesis.
